  1. depends on how much power u want,theres lots of factory coolers that do a good job,like the newer rx7 coolers,or even a GTR cooler,i bought mine for $500 2nd hand NEVER used and im makeing my pipeing my self and thats cost me $90 so far

  4. im making it myself,just out of steel as i can atleast weld it myself, but i wanna get a custom plenum once i get a few more things done to it, im making it out of 2 1/2" steel mandrell bends and some straight pipe only cost me $90 bucks for a SHITE load of bends
  5. hmmmm i dunno i wanted to take my car apart and make the pipeing up for my new fmic,which will take me all weekend,plus i rekon id only pull a low 15 anyways,but ill decide tomorrow
  6. i wouldnt mind going,as i live in sunbury and its 5 mins away, what do u need guys to race? also do u get many runs?
  7. i can get them in 304 or 316,polished or unpolished,but i can only get tube bends which are around 1.6mm wall thickness,if u want thicker try pipe bends
  8. i rekon a front mouted throttle body would be your best option aswell,also to have a bend that sharp would probably decrease flow, and i can get stainless bends in any size, what do u need?
  9. instead oif using rubber have u thought about buying a 3" stainless steel mandrell bend,then just use 2 little bits of straight rubber to join it? cause i can get hold of polished bends in melbourne for under 30 bucks

  11. well i work for crow cams so it wont cost me much for cams,i just wanna see a spec sheet of some aftermarket cams to use
  12. just wondering if any of you guys have aftermarket cams for the rb20det,cause im gonna get mine done,and i was wondering if any1 had any spec sheets of what they got?
  13. thanks guys,but im gonna get it done in stainless,i can tig weld a little so im just gonna tack it then take it to a local guy and get it fully welded. And the throttle body idea,i think it was in zoom they put it at the front,but that little block of ally that sits at the front of the plenum?with 2 hoses going into it and the airbleeder thing for the radiator, do u really need that? cause in zoom they just cut it off and drilled a hole, cause if its easy ill do that too oh and heres a pic of my new cooler http://mccr.madcars.org/msgboard/uploads/8...16-IM000063.JPG
  14. hey guys,im puting my new cooler in soon and i need some pics of some engine bays where the pipeing goes back over the engine to get to the cooler, cause as some of u know its a bitch to get the rb20 pipeing back over,i was thinking of just going infront of the engine between the engine and fan, but it looks very long,so i was thinking of haveing it come out of the turbo,across the engine into the cooler THEN into the engine,as this would have alot less heat and it doesent have to go asfar, and ideas guys? i will be putting on a custom plenum when i get around to it,so itll be only like this for probably 6 months
  15. well i got one of those digital air/fuel ratio things so ill put that in be4 i fiddle with the boost,that should help me out without damageing anything
  16. ok heres another question, if the stock boost is sposed to be 7psi,then if i put a exaust on it,will it creep higher without me doin anything, reason i ask is i wanna up the boost a little,to around 11-12psi,for high boost but when i drive around normally it sometimes reaches 10psi then drops back down to around 7psi, will setting the boost at 12psi be any difference? and is it really safe? ive got 3" exaust,stock cooler,and pod filter and i always run it on optimax
  17. nah its my mates and his is the one that taps into the sparkplug lead, i might also take me front cover off and have a look at the cam timing
  18. yeah but cant u just get no1 coil off and put a spark plug lead between the coil and the spark plug? would that work?
  19. sooo when u hook up the timing light,u position the crank angle sensor until it reads what? what should it be on a standard rb20det,all ive got is an exaust and thats it,what should the timing be?
  20. arrrrrh so u have to take the plastic front cover off,then adjust them, well what happends when u play with the crankangle sensor? whats that do lol sorry i must sound dumb but ive only ever messed around with carby motors
  21. this is a quick 1,how do u do the timing on the rb20det? and what should it be?
  22. nah well im hopeing i will be able to use the stock computer for a bit with the new turbo, but if i have to ill change it, but id rather wait a little bit untill i get 1, ill just wack the car on the dyno and get it retuned to suit the turbo
  23. thing is with a cam it should reduce lagg by a bit,have u got any specs on any t3/t4's i should be looking at,they bolt on dont they? and do they have internal wastegates? Also im gonna try and get everything then put it all on.so im looking at the front mount,GTR injectors aswell? would they be any good? also a either a GTR fuelpump,or a new bosch style intank pump so no messing around. Have i forgoten anything else?
  24. meggala,do u want new cams or YOUR cams machined? cause the machineing of your cams would be cheaper but i wouldnt have a clue,ill find out for u though,cause thats what i was just gonna do, so yous think a t3/t4 would be a good choice? cause there cheaper than the GT series turbos arnt they,especially if i can get one 2nd hand.
  25. nah meggala there not gonna start making them,but im gonna get some made up for me,but itll end up cheaper for u if u get the same specs as mine,as they dont have to change the machine. as for the turbo,what actually engine does the turbo come off? what actuall car does it come out in? cause if its worth it i might just get the vg30 turbo and do what u said and hi flo it,do u think it will give anywhere near the 200rwkw area? or does it run out of puff? i want as muuch info as possible thanks man
