I am looking to purchase a Nissan Skyline Crossover for about $60k, the problem is nobody knows what the hell this car is. Before I commit to the purchase I would like to know the insurance cost as well as find someone who can do the finance on it. As the car is only 2 years old, I should be able to get Corporate Hire Purchase, but again finance companies are a bit funny about lending money on a unique car. Can anyone offer some guidance to the places that will insure it and finance it. I have a 60% NCB and have a great credit record, so I do not need anything dodgy.

As the others have said, you need to be more specific as to the point is she came to a complete stop. If she did then she is at fault. I would also contact the duty seargent at the local police station and make a formal complaint as to how you were treated by the attending officer. They have no right to be so beligerant towards you. Funny thing I had the reverse happen to me. I was pulling out of a parking spot on a 2 lane road using my indicator. A car in the right most lane decided to move intot he middle lane and just clipped me. He was an off duty cop and I had a ticket for not leaving the kerb with due caution. He called the police and they were there in 5 mins. I wished cops turned up that quick when I called them.

There are only 2 models you should choose for OZ. They are the Beltronics STi-R (BEL STiR) and Escort Passport 9500ci Remote Radar Detectors. Both units work very well are undetectable. I know people who use them and have saved them many times. The LIDAR Jammers also work very well, although you need to ensure the heads are located near the numberplate and are difficult to see. Prepare to spend upwards of $2500 for a good setup. The Veil stuff is very noticable and only effective against LIDAR (Laser). As others have said, the best way to avoid fines is not to speed, but a RD and jammer also helps. As far as false alarms is conserned with the GPS enabled RD's they learn the false spots. Also the NSW police have now switched to Ka band for their mobile units, so falsing is almost a thing of the past, although the new active cruise control in high end cars causes some falsing. As for being able to be detected, a RD can only be detected if it is switched on. You turn it off and no RDD will detect it. Also there are only 3 RDD units in NSW (last i heard), and they are generally in country areas for truck RD enforcement. There is so much BS and scare tactics in regards to RD usage. Yes it is a $1000 fine and 9 points, but the chances of getting caught is very slim. You will find more people run them than you might think.

Being the owner of a FPV and a Ford, I am a bit biased, but your choice of a BF FPV Tornado vs a new SS-V, I would get the Holden. The reaosn is the new commo has better tech than the BF. If you put a SSV and a New FG XR6Turbo ute, I would get the Ford. The Ford FG is so much nicer inside than the Holden and will also carry 1ton, be more responsive to mods (300rwkw under $3k) and if you get the ZF auto is a gearbox made in heaven.

I am fairly sure a Section 10 will still lose 3 points. Unless your charges are dismissed, you will lose points, even when you win. You need to apply to the RTA to have the points dropped on a win, but a S10 means case proven no fine but cop the points. From Armstrong Legal Section 10 Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act - Avoiding a Criminal record Normally, when you plead guilty to a criminal or traffic offence the Court imposes a penalty and records a conviction. If the court records a conviction you will have a criminal record. In traffic matters this may also include a loss of license. However, if we were able to convince the Court not to convict you, there would be no penalty, no loss of licence, and no criminal record. In all Criminal and Traffic Law cases a Court has the discretion not to convict you but deal with you under the terms of section 10. What is a “section 10” The expression “section10” refers to section 10 of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999. This section allows a Court that finds you guilty of an offence, to discharge you without recording a conviction. Because there is no conviction, there is no criminal record. There are three types of section 10s: Outright dismissal – Section 10(1)(a) Conditional dismissal with a good behaviour bond - Section 10(1)(b) Conditional dismissal with a rehabilitation course – Section 10(1)© Outright dismissal – Section 10(1)(a) An outright dismissal under section 10 involves the court dismissing the offence without any conditions. The matter is completely over as soon as you walk out of the Court room. Conditional dismissal with a good behaviour bond - Section 10(1)(b) A Court can dismiss a charge under s10, but at the same time put you on a good behaviour bond for up to 2 years. The bond can have any conditions which the Court wants you to abide by. At a minimum these include : That you be of good behaviour (that is, that you do not commit any further offences) That you advise the Court of any change of address and That you appear before the Court if called upon to do so If you breach any conditions of the bond, the Court can call you up before it, revoke the bond and impose a different sentence for the offence. Honest and Expert advice Things you may not have hard about a section 10 Because of its huge benefits, section 10 is perhaps the best known section in the whole of the Criminal Law. Just about anyone, from all kinds of lawyers to your friends and work colleagues may tell you all sorts of things about section 10s. Unfortunately, section 10 is also perhaps the most widely misunderstood law. As the saying goes : “a little knowledge can be dangerous”. Here are some facts about a section 10 which you may not have been told about (or may have been told the wrong information): 1. If you get a section 10 with a bond, it will appear on your criminal record for the duration of the bond. While section 10 itself expressly says that it is not a conviction, under the Criminal Records Act 1991, a section 10 is actually defined as a conviction that becomes spent (that is, extinguished) as soon as the bond is finished. This means that if you need to show a clean criminal record in the near future (for example if you are about to apply for a job or travel overseas) you really need to obtain an outright section 10. 2. If you have committed a traffic offence which attracts demerit points, and you are worried about the loss of license, a section 10 will not help. The RTA will still impose the demerit points even if you get a section 10. 3. For certain traffic offences, you can not get more than one section 10’s within a period of 5 years. 4. After you get a section10, (with some limited exceptions) you do not have to disclose it to your employer or anyone else- even if they ask specifically about them. More and more employers these days are getting smarter about the way in which they ask questions about criminal history in job applications. Many ask not just about convictions, but also about sections 10s or “findings of guilt” (a section 10 is still a finding of guilt). Many people presume that if a question like this is asked, you have to answer it honestly and disclose any previous section 10s. This may not necessarily be the correct approach. Section 12 of the Criminal Records Act 1991 says that you do not need to disclose a “spent conviction” to any one for any purpose. Because that act also defines a section 10 as a “spent conviction”, it can be argued that even if an employer asks you a direct question about any previous section 10’s or ‘findings of guilt”, you do not have to disclose these as long as any section10 bond has expired. At this stage there is no decided cases as to what the correct position is. Mate, Get a "Leather Expert" to write a report on the poor condition of the leather. Put that with pictures and a formal demand to Nissan Oz to rectify. Let them know that NO will not be an acceptable answer. If they deny your repairs, then either get them retrimmed properly and send the bill to Nissan, or go to some media outlets and tell them. I am sure they would run a story on poor after sales from Nissan. My $80k Ford has better quality leather than your GT-R, so I would also be angry if my car had the same problem. There is no point in getting angry, if you carry out the formal steps, then Nissan will usually respond faviourably as they do not want a fight over a $2k retrim job.

A little birdie told me that Dean Wills the avid car collector and ex CEO of CC Amitil picked up his ADM R35 GTR yesterday. It was a White Permium version and will go into a collection of Enzo's, Mclaren F1's and many other supercars. Would be nice to watch it go around his private racetrack on the central coast.

The only thing you will catch at Putney is Toxic waste. You need to be east of the bridge to catch anything edible, as the amount of polution west of the bridge, especially in teh parra river is massive.

I was down at brookvale and they had 5 cars ready for PD. 2 silver, one black,one red and one grey. Sorry for the crap pictures. I was also chattign with one of the GTR mechanics, apparently the gearbox service is only required if the gearbox gets over a certain temp. I think he said 130deg C. He said that they did a track day during their training and they did not reach the temps required for a service. Apparently the ECU has a VERY long memory and revels all once plugged in. I hope the 5 new owners enjoy their awesome rides.

I heard a rumour that the SW Sydney dealer is planning to fcharge $15,000 dealer delivery. This is not confirmed, but it was from a solid source.

Would the owners of R35's like to see up front what all the servicing costs would be ? The reason I ask is my friendly dealer is thinking of presenting all the costs up front, so people know what something is going to cost. They realise that people will have sticker shock to some degree if presented with a $10k bill to do F&R pads and rotors. Would this make owners happier ? Please do not put a $0.02 comment in if you are not getting a R35, as this relates specifically to these owners.
