  1. Is it the GP or the south circuit ? I am yet to have a run on the full GP config and would like to. Thanks
  2. I have a Video of that car from FDD1 doing a burnout while driving at over 120km/h up and over the bridge at Oran park. I think it had FLYBYE as its number plate. It was the most amazing car I have ever see drift.

  7. If he was in a general duties car, you have a good chance of getting off. If he was by himself, you have got a Great chance of getting off. I have been done twice for speeding, both by GD police and got off both times in court. Make sure you write everything down. I have even filled out the court election in front of the cop 5seconds after she gave it to me !!! The magistrate will look at your driving record and the cops experience. If it is your word against his and he has no traffic experience, you will get off. It is worth the effort for 4 hours in your day. They will give you the cops statement and your driving record before you go into court, so you can highlight the inaccuracies in his statement and shoot holes in his statement. Cops only make a couple of lines of notes after they write you out a ticket, so they tend to forget the details after 6 months when it comes to the court apperance. Fight it
  8. I will bring you a copy
  9. Great, we have a decent crowd. It will be good to cya again B-Man
  10. bad news is the cops are going digital over the next 12 months, this means you will not be able to hear them
  11. JimX, All I can say is take it to court. I was zipping through the backstreets of Gladesville when I noticed far behind me a car trying to keep up. I was in my brothers WRX at the time and I could just make out a paddy wagon about 400m behind. I pulled over and these 2 fat ugly chicks got out of the PW and told me to get back in my car. I am 6'5" and said that I was fine standing up and what was their problem. They said I was speeding and that I was gonna get a ticket. I asked how they measured my speed and they said they had a radar......yeah right, I asked to see the radar and that PW are not fitted with calibrated speedo's. I was being a tad obnoxious and the next thing I know I had 3 other cars speeding in from all directions. I was shocked as I was not aggresive, I stayed leaning up against the car the whole time. Anyway, I got a ticket for 15-30kmh, as soon as they wrote out the ticket, I borrowed their pen to fill out the court election. They were not impressed..... I went to court 4 months later and the prosocutor dropped the charges as they knew I had all the ammo I needed to win. The cops will give you all the police statements and your driving record before you go into court. These 2 DUMB ass cops had conflicting statements, they had followed me on different roads for different distances and even got the car colour wrong. While I will admit to exceeding the speed limit, I was not reckless. While we must adhere to the road laws, the cops must also adhere to the laws. Take it to court, you would be suprised how easy it can be, make sure you write a statement and get all the details about where you were stopped and what an angel you are on the road. Get some statements from reputable friends who have been in the car when you are driving. Other Cops, doctors, judges, etc are great ammo. Have a go, if you loose you will only have $45 more to pay. Winning the court case was just reward as both cops were there and were not happy when I won.
  12. Merli, Can you also add my wife. Thanks Mal mmmmmm......steak:wassup:
  13. I was pricing the car as $60k. I also faxed them the details for the car as they had not heard of this model, or anything about the Stagea. I expect they would now offer a better deal now as there would be more of them on the road now. I did get the quote in Jan '04, so I guess things have changed.
  14. I called every insurance company including Famous, NRMA, AAMI, etc. and EVERYONE said "whats a Stagea?" I faxed them all details on the 260RS and they all said NO CHANCE, except Just Cars who put on about $5k in excesses if it was stolen or crashed. I also did not have a lockup garage so I could not get it...period. All the finance companies wanted a 20% deposit and were offering 13%p.a when the normal is under 8%. I also think $60k for the 260RS is a bit steep, it should be under $40k, but then a guy on this forum was trying to sell one for a $100k last year. Motorman imports have a 260RS (I think) that I was looking at and it is a really good example, although I am not sure if they have compliance. If you want one get it, they are still the worlds fastest wagon under $100k, and nothing would make a HSV driver cry than being blown away by a wagon that looks like a ugly volvo.
  15. I have a new XR6 Turbo as I did not like the way the 260RS deal was going. No insurance company would touch it except Just Cars and this was a $3k quote (30yo> rating 1 in sydney.) Also finance was difficult. I am happy with my purchase, but I would swap it for a 4 door GTR any day, but not a 260rs as it is a wagon. From all the research I did, I found that the 260RS 1999> is a R34 running gear, but with a 5speed from the R33. The car has ATTESA and brembo's and also has the VSpec diff. You will be happy if you can get one.
  16. Between the ages of 18 - 21 a woman is like Africa or Australia: She is half discovered, half wild and naturally beautiful with bushland around a fertile delta. Between the ages of 21 - 30 a woman is like America or Japan: Completely discovered, very well developed and open to trade, especially with countries with cash or cars. Between the ages of 30 - 35, she is like India or Spain: Very hot, relaxed and convinced of her own beauty. Between the ages of 35 - 40 a woman is like France or Argentina: She may have been half destroyed during the war but can still be a warm and desirable place to visit. Between the ages of 40 - 50 she is like Yugoslavia & Argintina: She lost the war and is haunted by past mistakes. Massive reconstruction is now necessary. Between the ages of 50 - 60 she is like Russia or Canada: Very wide, quiet and the borders are practically unpatrolled, but the frigid climate keeps people away. Between the ages of 60 - 70 a woman is like England or Mongolia: A glorious and all conquering past but, alas, no future. After 70, a woman is like Albania: Everyone knows where it is, but no one wants to go there. THE GEOGRAPHY OF A MAN: Between the ages of 15 - 70 a man is like Iraq: Ruled by a dick.
  17. I Voted for R'nR in Manly, as it will be Thursday. Cruze to Palm Beach sounds like a good way to burn off the 500gm Lazy Aged Rump that I will have for dinner:wassup: That is if the skylines boyz can keep up :looney:
  18. So, is it Ribs'n Rumps ? If so Manly or Gordon ? Ta
  19. Marlin, I thought your idea would involve a Dyno run and not an actual run at 300km/h You would be able to get a good estimate on a cars ability to reach such a speed by using drag co efficient and some smart software. It may not be 100% but I would think close to 99%. If it is a driving event I would still be interested.....I just need to work out how to bypass the 230km/h limiter the car has. The APS Phase 3 Falcon did 307km/h at avalon
  20. Ribs and Rumps is BYO for wine only. If you have not been there before and you love MEAT, you will want to go again and again. I have had my company christmas parties there twice in 5 years
  21. Can anyone point me to a good mobile car kit installer. I am on the northern beaches and I need to get a kit (i already have) installed into my wifes car. We want to get the screwless installation done as we do not want holes. Thanks Mal
  22. Yeah, sorry guys I did not realise it was only Friday-Sunday. How about Ribs n' Rumps http://www.ribsandrumps.com.au/index.aspx . They have THE BEST steak and chicken in the world. They also have to outlets, one in Gordon and the other in Manly It would rate as my top pick for a great place to eat.
  23. As I suggested at the last dinner, there is the Austrian Club that does German Food. They also sell german beer:cheers: The place is cheap and cheerful and the food great. Details here http://www.austrian-associations.com/index...les/Page690.htm Its a pitty the Malaya in north sydney is gone, that place was great:headspin:
  24. BOV that vent to atmosphere are illegal. Things that people get failed for include: Pod Filters, Big exhausts Car too low (100mm is the lowest point on a car) Pillar mounted gauges oversized wheels tinting too dark Wrong globed in headlights (blue is illegal) neons This is just a indication on the type of things an import may be failed on. I have not mentioned the normal stuff like tears in seats, emissions, faulty lighting, worn steering/suspension, bad brakes, non compliance tyres and oil leaks. Make sure the car is clean and the engine is steam cleaned. Also check the globes all work. When I used to do inspections, if there were globs blown or obvious problems, I would always have a closer look.
  25. I would travel within capital city to use it I would pay about $150 per run, although my car is limited to 230km/h I would not let someone else drive it unless it was a dyno Would only expect one run as it is not a tuning run it would put a huge stress on the car
