  1. CONDITION IS EVERYTHING, when buying Turbo's So is being polite to potential buyers. Daniel Konig If you are not interested in buying these turbo's then please keep your comments to yourself. I'm thinking you should have a read of our rules. Thanks Neil.
  2. Theres one on ebay at present for $100 Daniel Konig
  3. Selling 1 brand new GT30 500HP ballbearing turbo with the smaller 0.63AR exhaust housing for less lag. These are good up to around 420RWHP and are very responsive for the power offered. Unit is brand new and still wrapped in the plastic, bought it for a project that is no longer going ahead. Dont want to loose too much on the thing but will sell for $2300 ONO. 4. OK, with an s13 SR20de-DET, differences are; Pistons in the DET are dished more deeply giving the lower compression No under piston oil squirters on the DE Substantially thinner rods on the DE (despite what others may tell you about them being the same. I have them both in my study as I type....) Smaller oil pump Thats about the differences in the bottom end that I know of, other than there obviously being no oil feed/return or water return on the block that is.... Daniel Konig
  5. I am keen also, please post pics. Daniel Konig
  6. They are not exactly the same. Bought an R32 manifold to suit R33 and it didnt fit, shifted the turbo too close to the strut tower. Daniel Konig
  7. It is likely to have an effect when the car is stationary, but has been suggested to make things WORSE on some cars when moving (especially as speed increases) due to the pressure forcing back in and disturbing the airflow that the designers of your car spent all that R&D money designing. Daniel Konig
  8. Actually, that makes sense, problem must be related to it being after the throttle body.... Cheers Daniel Konig
  9. I have read that just in front of the windscreen there on pretty well every car is in fact a high pressure region and as such, at speed air gets forced back down in there and doesnt extract any heat at all and can actually interfere with the air that is already flowing into the low pressure region (your engine bay) from the front of the car and then out under the car. Unless your doing it for "hardcore" look Daniel Konig
  10. Hey, just wondering if anyone knows a bit about external gates. Have mine hooked up with direct pressure/vac straight from the intake manifold to the bottom of the gate and a seperate source to the top and regulating across the top to control boost. All works fine, but when you back off throttle or are at anything over about 2500RPM decellerating in gear (ie whenever there is high vacuum and revs) the gate opens as the pressure at the top of the gate sucks it open. Is there any way to remedy this? Daniel Konig
  11. I thinkk the GT28 400 has to much lag for the amount of HP it can support. Have ordered the .63 turbo and will keep you guys posted, thanks for the advice. Daniel Konig
  12. Hey, I know its not a skyline, but want a turbo for my SR20DET, aim is 380-400RWHP at between 1.8 and 2 BAR on fully built engine (am upgrading from my GT28 400HP). Looking at a GT30 500hp jobbie, with either the .63 or .82 exhaust AR. I know the .82 will make the power I want (have seen it done) but have 2 questions. Will the .63 make this power? (I dont have any experience with them). Is the difference in lag between the .63 and the .82 high? Please note, have looked up all the specs and the ONLY differnece between the turbos is the AR, all wheel diameters etc are the same. Not really looking for guesses, rather if anyone has had any experience. Cheers Daniel Konig
  13. Exhaust restrictions will be the next step, maybe tonight. Dont know the max power of a DE in Aus, but have seen several in US over 400HP at wheels. Cam profiles on the DE are slightly more lift and slightly more duration than DET AFR is 12ish no matter what boost. Daniel Konig
  14. It picks up vacuum at what appears to be a normal rate, however it is much laggier than expected... Cooler came of a 600RWHP GTR so I dont think that is the problem. Also, how will I know if it is running out of spark? They are the stock coil packs, which I know are good for more power than that, and have gapped the plugs right down to 0.5mm. Anyone got any other suggestions? Daniel Konig
  15. GT28 400hp Ball bearing turbo 0.7 Compressor AR and 0.64 Exhaust AR High mount manifold with provisions for external gate (gate not included) 3" dump pipe. Turbo is as new, only a few weeks of driving, going for something bigger now. Had the compresor cover polished so looks trick. Paid $2500 for the turbo and $600 for the manifold, $100 for the polishing plus the dump pipe, thats $3200 plus the dump. Has made 300RWHP on 1 Bar Selling for $2500, located in Perth but can ship. Email me if you have any further queries. Daniel Konig [email protected] Kit for Silvia/200sx series.... Some more info on the turbo; This unit has a T25 type base flange and GT25 type rear flange for the exhaust. Features a huge .70 comp cover with smooth machined bellmouth inlet and 4" inlet. This unit has a .64 exhaust housing in the 400hp form . The comp wheel actually flows 44 LBs/Min and itself is rated near 450hp. Usual ultra reliability and superb response from the Garrett ball bearing design. Sometimes called a GT25/40. Very similar to the HKS GT25/40 but with a different comp cover and different number of blades on the compressor. Great upgrade for SR20DETs and other 2 litre's.
  16. Currently running an SR20DE with the following mods; -Conversion to CAS and coil packs -Wolf 3d Management -GT28 400HP Ball bearing turbo with high mount manifold & external 45mm gate -Trust Cooler -Bigger radiator -Big fuel system etc etc Running about 10PSI of boost it put down 248RWHP, winding it up to 17PSI however with retune picked up about 2HP! I feel there must be something holding it back, it still has a Cat converter in it, it may be melted, am thinking of removing it next week to see if this helps things, failing this can anyone suggest anything? Cheers Daniel Konig
  17. I have not spread any mis-information, the third silver rocker covered SR20DE I have owned is parked in my driveway. silver rocker cover with distributor rather than coil packs is from S13 Q S13 K had the red cover and the coils LATE S13 K had the blck rocker cover with coils but NO VVT (not sloped at the back of the cover) S14 had the black cover but sloped at the back for vvt S15 sort of grey colour, also sloped at back Attached a pic of my DE (and yes I know thats a turbo on it
  18. If its a Q, it will look basically the same as the one in the picture, but not exactly, essentially, if its a Q, and the rocker cover is silver then its an SR20
