  1. yeah mate, i asked sam few weeks ago for a quote on remapping, it would cost me over 1k including labour and tuning...but not in a rush of getting it done yet...just enjoying my ride for now...is status tuning any connection to O.H. Performance?? cause i went at OH perm. to quote for tuning and dyno and told me to go to status tuning/?..anyways doesnt matter...thanx dude
  2. hey mate, where abouts in melb. is status tuning located?? ive heard of trent before but dont knw where the shop tho..i know Dr. Drift knows a thing about remapping too..im thinking of getting it done there.. cheers
  3. hhmmm..im quite surprised how i ran 180 rwkw on the dyno with standard SMIC and standard ECU..i know every dyno is different and vary every results depending on the temps. of the day...cant wait till i get my last two major up grades and thinking of boosting it up now to 12 psi as what u guys said previously its safe.. cheers guys..
  4. hi jase, in regards to fuel economy, i couldnt tell the difference from when my car was still stock to my current set up, still doing 450 klms/55 Ltrs of full tank...but would stretch to 500 klms/55 Ltrs on a long distance drive...in saying dat, if i drive like a hoon and drive fast and brake hard all the time, i could squeeze around 350 Klms/full tank. by the way, u mentioned u are running 12 psi on ur car right now?? is that with aftermarket turbo or stock?? i heard its bad running that kinda boost on a stockies..?? any problems so far with the turbo?? and how much are you running on the dyno with your current set up, if u wouldnt mind asking??
  5. hey guys... got an r34 GTT, just wondering whats the stock rb25det turbo maximum power can it handle?? horsepower/kilowatts..got my car boosted up to 10 PSi with stock turbo..getting aftermarket ECU and bigger FMIC soon..currently running on the dyno around 180-185 rwkw..is it also possible to reach to 200+ without changing the standard turbo and without boosting it up more than wat i have now?? will aftermarket ECU get me to 200+??its my daily drive at the moment..not planning any major upgrades though..power i want, is from whatever my aftermarket ECU and FMIC will give me.. set-up at the moment: *full 3" exhaust system all the way to turbo back with 3" high flow cat. *pod filter with box. *Greddy boost controller boosted to 10 psi and tuned.. next up grades: *aftermarket ECU or Remap. *FMIC. *coil packs, better sparkplugs, fuel pumps and fuel regulator.. and thats about it for my power.. will my stock turbo handle these set up?? help?? thanx guys
  6. cheerz R2THEJ... its easier for me to decide now after reading all those advices and comments as i am pretty new to this turbo and skylines stuff..just for the record, my er34 is my first car, so hoping not to stuff it up with my silly decisions in the future, hence why im on here...
  7. ok, to make it simple and easy, all i wanted and intended for my car in a year or 3, is just to make it my daily drive, not going on the track or race or any kind, not planning getting remap or getting aftermarket ecu, or turbo upgrade, or any big upgrades, so basically, have no plans of getting the car over 200 rwkw not until in a few years..all i wanted is, to install my EBC to control the boost, when to use high and low, if say i am running 10-11 psi with my mods right now..not intended to upped more boost which i know i CAN NOT do it bcoz of the standard parts i have at the moment.. i think i made everything so complicated, i should have the topic. "IS IT POSSIBLE TO INSTALL MY EBC INTENDED ONLY TO CONTROL HIGH AND LOW BOOST"
  8. 1.Budget (how much do you want to spend on a cooler) <--cooler $600-700 but have to be a good brand as well.. 2.ultimate Power Aim? (try to think if youll go after market turbo) <--not considering getting an aftermarket turbo yet so would not go beyond 200 rwkw..not planning to upgrade turbos, not in a few yrs...its just a daily car for me for now... 3.Willing to Risk Defects? <--only if i have to change my SMIC..yes i would if given no choice...
  9. How much boost you want to run? You have a R34 GTT, the Side Mount Intercooler should be fine for just over 200 kW's. As for Bar and Plate or Tube and Fin, I can't remember exactly but I read in one of my magazines that one is better for air flow and the other is better for cooling. For example, air flow would be great for drag racing as you are only on the track for less than 10 (give or take a few seconds) on the track, while the intercooler for cooling would be better off for circuit, drift and rally racing as you are on the track for longer. That's just off the top of my head from memory... hi skyline, i only wanted to run 11 psi high boost...i have another topic at FORCED INDUCTION its inregards to stock SMIC handling a boost 11 psi...maybe you can shade some lights off for me..i didnt want to have 2 topics here as well..please check it out for me.. thanx
  10. you got me right there basti, i only wanted the EBC install so i can control the boost thats all...its sound so good when hearing those advice from you... does anyone agree here tho from basti's comments??
  11. im not quite sure if i am actually runnig 11 psi right now..ill have to dyno my car yet...i wanted the ebc bcoz i want to control how and when the boost should be high and low, thats why...i didnt want to run more dan 11 psi all the time...
  12. fyi, the r34 smic is an upgrade for us r33 folk. im running 10psi (rb20 actuator controlled) on full 3" zorst, metal cat, r34 smic, pod (wank) and standard ecu. 11psi is "safe" in my opinion. my car has been in this state of tune for atleast the last year, and i have a heavy foot. no issues remember, the dyno is not 100% accurate to road conditions. the airflow especially mainly caters for those with FMIC (big fan pointed at the front bar) but doesnt look like it gets much air to the side mounts. keep the EBC. if you plan on modding further it will come in handy... basti, are u running a stock turbo as well?? any issues on the turbo tho?? the whole story why i have this topic is, i wanted to install my EBC and set it up to 11 psi with the stock turbo, stock smic and stock ecu.. im just worried if im goin to run into any problem in the future if i install the EBC ... does anyone agree with me here tho, if its worth installing the EBC now, with Stock SMIC, stock turbo and stock ECU?? if not, ill just have to install my boost gauge first instead and wait for your opinions which is a better way...
  13. hi paul.... i already went and asked those shops for intercoolers..but i think they are a bit pricey..but will keep looking around.. thanx though..
  14. ujin, i think all skyline GTR's IC are more superior compare to GTsT's and GTT's...and yeh i do have a custom pod box around my pod...
  15. "theres nothing wrong with the stock intercooler. You should be more concerned about using the stock ecu on 11 psi. get a safc or power fc." <-- this is where confusion comes along r33GOD, bcoz u r not the only person dat told me dat stock cooler should be fine and ECU needs changing first and some other ppl telling me the other way around..so dont really know what to do first.. base on my survey, 50% of the tuner that i have interviewed/enquired about my set-up, they said that Stock ECU should be fine when upping the boost to 11Psi, but the Stock cooler has to be replaced first, as they will not goin to handle the heat very well after 2-3 runs on the dyno and will lose power after few runs and caused a lot of issues, base on their experienced(as what they told me)..they are reputable tuners though these guys..so really dnt knw yet..but im leaning towards on getting a bigger cooler to be safe i guess..unless someone can prove me wrong...
  16. "i wouldnt boost mine up any more than 11psi ive herd that the r34 turbo's cant handle as much because of the nylon wheel." <---we are in the same boat scotty, this is why im here and getting more info about it...stock r34 gtt turbo cant go more than 12 PSi as the turbo itself is made out of ceramics which can easily break into pieces if boost too much.. "once i get the rest of my exhaust in ill have all the minor mods done and ill probably have my ebc set on about 9 or 10 psi when it is installed to be on the safe side. but thats just me im to scared, i dont want something to happen." <--- you are not alone, but this is the tricky part scotty, my car just recently been modified lightly, it used to be stock as a rock even my sound system still have the original cassette tape slot and a nissan brand on it, but anyhow, recently i slapped a full 3"stainless steel cat back exhaust custom made, 3" hi-flow metal cat, 3 inch front/dumb pipe as well all the way to turbo back, and running a POD filter with pod box around it, once u got this mods done (which obviously what i have now) you will notice a big difference to your car, response a lot quicker compare to stock and NOW YOU WILL BE RUNNING approximately 10 Psi maybe pushing to 11 Psi on a colder days..so basically i am actually running on a limit boost for my stock turbo now without the help of my EBC.. thats why im calling all the experience tuner who have done the same set up as mine ... thanx scotty for ur help
  17. thanx ryan, i know access autoworks...i went there and got my STRI boost gauge and my Greedy Profec b-spec II.. i dont think they sell $700 trust kit for R34 GTT as i checked it on their website... pic below is Greddy Trust Spec R HG Intercooler GTT R34 Skyline Price: $2,400.00
  18. "I'm running a HDi (Hybrid) intercooler which will handle more power than I am going to throw at it." <--- Hybrid intercooler apparently are a lot harder to find, i read in some forums..and a lot of hybrid fakes claiming as well..so how would i knw which one is legit?? "I can't remember if the stock IC handles 250kw or not, but I think it should take your power levels." <--- stock SMIC apparently not safe to do, after a 2-3 rounds of full dyno and upping the boost the pipes and IC itself will go red hot and will cause a lot of problem, thats why i have to change my stockies coz originally i wanted to leave the stock smic and boost my car up with my new Greedy Profec B-spec II EBC... They are defectable when used with a POD or if the IC piping is cored through a structural section of body work though. <---i know, i have POD at the moment, the only reason why i went POD like is bcoz i thought i didnt have to change my stock IC, but i didnt know i have to change it once i start upping the boost...but i will just have to find a way now how to get away with it..ive spoken to a tuner who can help me with the POD thingy issue...
  19. 1. Great Ocean Road - GOR 2. Lakes Entrance 3. Eureka Skydeck 4. Mornington Peninsula 5. or worst comes to worst, take her to the "ICE BAR" at lonsdale street...i mean literally the bar is carve and made out of ICE... or melb. zoo or melb. aquarium...lolz
  20. hi guys... i need some advice from ppl who knows most about intercoolers, i needed to get one ASAP as i cant boost my car unless i have a bigger FMIC on my R34 GTT.. Greedy, plazmaman, HKS, Nismo, etc. whats the best one to get and easiest to install?? im not goin to run my car over 260 rwkw... so intercoolers that can handle between 250-260 rwkw would be fine.. and whats the difference between Bar and Plate or Tube and Fin? which is better?? my budget is around $600-700 for full intercooler kit with pipes including... any advice??? thanx guys... any shop from melbourne where i can check some intercoolers??

  22. thanx r31nismoid....i have no choice, but to pull out, is goin to be a smart move right now..ill just have to find my intercooler now...
  23. "Also im surprised its not running close to 11psi already, your bigger exhaust should have done this for you." <---im not quite sure what i am running at the moment on the dyno with the exhaust i have right now, but one tuner told me i should be running 10-11 Psi with the set up i have... i guess i will just have to call off my tuning and dyno day next week if this is the case...whats a good FMIC for R34 GTT in a reasonable price?? my budget would be around $700-900..anyone can point me to the right direction??
  24. hi guys, ok straight to the business, i have a full 3"stainless steel exhaust system with 3"high flow metal cat and 3"front/dump pipe, pod filter with pod box around it, and the rest of the car are stock as u can get, now i just bought a Greedy Profec b-spec II EBC, and a new boost meter/gauge, i went around and talking to a lot of tuners, and i get different feedback from each tuner, now i want ur feedback and advice, i want to set the boost to 11 Psi/pounds Hi-boost, now my worries are,: 1. i have been told to change my stock SMIC and stock ECU: are these necessary?? if not changing the following, would my engine get affected/damage?? or any damage at all may occur?? 2. boost cuts?? at what rate?? i know someone that can remap a stock ECU to eliminate boost cuts but will cost me $$$xxx ... some tuners suggests to wait until i get an aftermarket ECU and Tune it together with my Boost control.. the only reason why i want to do Boost COntrol first is that i already have the EBC itself lying around my room and wondering if i can install it first then ECU later...but just want to make sure i will be doing the right thing.. so is it safe and duable boosting with stock SMIC and stocK ECU to 11 Psi.?? what will be the problem may cause with these sort of set up?? please help...whats ur idea guys?? thanx for your help in advance..
