  1. I realise where the earth ends up, hence the question mark at the end of the sentence...
  2. You can run them in enclosures yes. But like Nav2k said you'll need a large enclosure and don't give them too much power else they'll die a horrible death.
  3. Some headunits only put the aerial up when the radio is on. Other head units put it up whenever the deck is powered. Depends on the deck in question.
  4. It's a never ending discussion that one. I have found (both read and heard) you can. You just have to put the earth onto the engine or body rather than the battery?
  5. Come see me before you do it - I'll give you a diffuser to put behind the speaker too.
  6. Check that none of your speaker terminals have not come into contact with the car body. Whilst a hard contact will send amps into protection, an on / off touch will cause alternator whine.
  7. You're also always welcome to contact us if you cannot find what you're looking for. We mail order stuff around the country everyday (at special Skyline forum members prices of course).
  8. Wolverine is spot on, the subwoofer isn't just for 'doof'. It plays a very important role in filling out the bottom end of the sound spectrum and creating the foundation for most musical tunes.
  9. I've never said it is easy and nor would I. There is a largo difference between physically installing the gear and getting it to sound it's best.
  10. Nah, that is only equipment prices. Doens't include deadening, cable or installation costs champ.
  11. Hope that is of some assistance.

  13. Run the power cable down the drivers side of the metal skirt. Run your RCA cords down the passenger side to avoid interference. If at any times the RCA’s have to crossover the power line, make they do so perpendicularly to avoid noise.
  14. Nice call Nav! I like your style champ. Seriously Dacow, you’re more than welcome to contact me and we’ll do our best to help you out in any way possible.
  15. There is always one sure fire way to avoid wasting money on bad and / or useless components; research and planning! You’re off to a great start by asking questions and planning your system before throwing wads of hard earned cash at some dodgy salesman. Anyone planning a system needs to know three main things: 1. Budget 2. Music types listened too 3. Cabin size. Now we know number three, can you shed some light on the other two perchance? BTW, you’re welcome to browser through the photo galleries on our website for inspiration.
  16. You may need to thread lock some of the bolts in your window mechanism too…
  17. BOoStEr, you couldn't fit the 6.5's in the doors dude? We fit them in all the time. Mind you, we also make baffles, deaden the doors, seal the baffles into the door and use diffuser panels too!
  18. Diamond make very nice 4x6 and 5x7's. The R32 skyline will happily take 6" speakers in the front doors.
  19. Yeah mate, sure are but remember the pricelists on our website are ful RRP, not what we sell them for!
  20. Congrats on the buy champ! I put two 11" versions into BMW yesterday - you wait until you hear them. :D
  21. No problems mate.
  22. Yang, you just rang me didn't you champ? Just making sure I got all questions answered.
  23. Ah yes... hehe
  24. Hey guys, while you cannot achieve bass equal to a full powered sub you can get a fair amount of bass in the car using a few tricks. You can use a high powered set of quality splits at the front and using HEAPS of sound deadening, you can cross the speakers quite low (around 30-50hz). But you'll need serious power to run them this low. Another option is to run free air subs in the rear shelf. Using specially made spacer plates you can put two infinate baffle 8" where the factory rears usually reside. P.S: I do own Fhrx Studio's which is an Audio shop in Sydney.
  25. Thanks for going to the trouble of writing all that that siu_loong_bao. Now if only all posters were that thorough - it would be the end of inter-post confusion.
