  1. The Hertz HSK165 are quite a nice speaker. Basically similar to the Bostons. They will fit in with a small baffle made up.
  2. You can run them through the door gromments. It's quite difficult and tears the crap out of your hands but it can be done.
  3. The sound of the bass is most effected by the enclosure the sub is running in. Could you please tell us a little more about the enclosure?
  4. There are many amplifiers on the market that will run your two subs. You will require an experienced audio buffoon to syphone through all the 'power figures hype' and give you the real answer. Some of the amps I often install and remain big fans of are: Audison LRx1.400 (RRP$899) Audison VRx1.500 (RRP$1996) Boston GT-28 (RRP$1399) Zapco 1100M (RRP$1699) Tru-Tech H-1 (RRP$2399) There are others but without a budget it gets kind of hard...
  5. If you have to ask these questions may I suggest you take it too a qualified installer. I say this not because I am one, but because I have seen so many home installed amps go up in smoke it's just not funny to me anymore.
  6. Other way round dude. A cap is the bandaid fix. An ample battery and upgraded alternator is the first step IF there is a problem...
  7. As long as the battery is in good condition I doubt very much you'll need another one. The first step of upgrading cars electrical system is usually the alternator as the battery is just the storage device remember... doesn't matter how big it is, if the alternator cannot keep it topped up it will still go flat eventually.
  8. Sound deadening is worth its weight in gold to an audio enthusiast. Just make sure when applying it you get every single air bubble out else the water gets trapped and the panels tend to rust out under it.
  9. It is unusual for Web Audio Direct to have issues like this. Usually they run smooth as silk. Remember coming up to Christmas most audio stores (both online and B&M) have supply issues every so often.
  10. I see you're in NSW. Before you do anything at all please bring it to us so I can diagnose it for you. We usually insert small 10's under the shelf next to the battery and that gives people plenty of bass so I'm assuming there is something going pear-shaped with your sub and / or amp.
  11. Make sure you do those items justice and get some sound deadening too.
  12. What about an Audison SRx2S? They provide 600 RMS and cost $599 RR. Top amp.
  13. In most Skyline's where the owner just wants a little bottom end we usually install a 10" in a small sealed enclosure under the parcel shelf. I certainly do install in Sydney and I'm more than happy to advise you on your R34 system. Simply email me on [email protected] or visit our website.
  14. On your standard 7 channel incar processor you usually have front highs (tweeters), front midrange (mids), front midbass (woofers), rear highs, rear midrange, subwoofer and center. We often use three way splits at the front, two ways at the rear and a 4" co-axial like a Boston or Focal for center channel.
  15. Looks sensational dude.
  16. I too are under the impression they're not quite the same.
  17. Well sort of. You can always place the mike above the tray but not really no. I think when you pop the lights out of the ceiling above it, you don't need to measure it.
  18. Imagine the sound quality.
  19. The Alpine retails for $1699, the Pioneer retails for $1799.
  20. Sorry, I should clarify my comments. They serve a certain part of the audio market. This is simply not the same market I deal with. I mean no disrespect at all.
  21. Certainly is possible to unplug it and see. Firstly try unpluging the RCA's first and see if that changes anything. Secondly, try removing the remote turn on wire for the amp (removing it from the power grid) and see if that changes anything. When the amp was installed was the system re-tuned at all?
  22. They retail for $1699. Email me at [email protected] for your price. We like to help forum buddies out where we can.
  23. Is it a Clarion V-Net?
  24. From what I know the DEH-9400 is the overseas model while the DEH-9450 is the Aussie model. I'd rather the 9450 over the 7998.
  25. Still got ya miffed? Now I'm interested because I cannot remember.
