  1. The whine is actually electrical interfierance being induced into your RCA cable. Move all of your RCA cables far away from any power cables. Next step is too triple check all earths including the one from the head unit and all amps to ground and from the battery to the bodywork. Make sure they are clean and the paint is rubbed back where they bolt to the bodywork. Make sure they are screwed in tight also check that the insulation on the signal cables isn't worn / cracked / damaged.
  2. I have an Audison SRx2S here that I'll happily let go for $520.
  3. Sorry hippy, I have to agree with gtrGhosTDoGG11. Pioneer and Sony make nice amplifiers but when they're compared to amps like Audison, Boston and Phase audio etc there is simply no comparison dude.
  4. I might just mention that I'll happily beat most online shops for my online 'cyber' buddies although I won't step on the toes of certain online stores as they work in affiliation with myself.
  5. If budget is a real issue then you might want to consider second hand products?
  6. First post hey? Take it easy hey? My intial reaction is to welcome you. Regarding your deck, there is not much you can do that I'm aware of but you should post your issue on Car Audio Australia (www.caraudioaustralia.com) as someone there may have found a solution to your problem?
  7. Bare in mind a few issues when talking about Jaycar amps as they have been tested to output their rated power but not much more at all. There are also numerous other issues to consider when buying a Jaycar amp too. The Jaycar crossover quality is known to be "less than average" and sometimes require the user to utilise an external one. They don't have much internal capacitance, the damping factor isn't terribly high either and their THD is disasterous when they're loaded down (although this will not bother subs too much). As far as their specs go, they meet them. But when other important factors are considered, the "more expensive" amplifiers (such as Boston and Audison) provide benefits in all of these areas.
  8. There are heaps on our website dude. Feel free to take a peek. www.fhrxstudios.com.
  9. I've always understood that Kelvar and carbon fibre were pretty much the same thing. We use it to maintain structural rigidity whilst maintaining minimal wall thickness.
  10. I sell just about every brand dude. Some of them include: Acoustic control (a.k.a Soundoff) Alpine Audison Becker Boston Acoustics Brahma Clarion Clif Designs Diamond Dynamat Dynaudio Earthquake Eclipse Fusion Harmon Kardon Hertz Hifonics Infinity Jaycar JL Audio Kenwood Kicker Nakamichi Nesa OZ Audio Phoenix Gold Pioneer Polk Audio Precision Power Rockford Fosgate Beva® enclosures Schneider Sony Stinger Streetwires Xtant
  11. Certainly not permanent! No way I'd damage someones car like that dude. We first mask up the entire boot area before we put the resin and Kevlar it. That way you can pop the entire enclosure out if you need to do something that requires the entire boot.
  12. The debate of Boston Vs Focal is like the old Ford Vs Holden. Depending on who you ask will get you a totally different answer. As for the amps, I'd rather Audison personally. I often mail amplifiers around the country and would be more than happy to accomodate you. Email me on [email protected] if you have any questions.
  13. PM sent.
  14. Make sure you also upgrade your negative to body. What ever size power cable you run, you'll need the same sized earth.
  15. Looks sensational Evil. Good work mate! I too just finished a simple install using a similar setup. Here are some images if anyone is interested.

  17. I hate to be the barer of bad news but put simply, there is no way of getting a 'full' quality system including amp and sub for 1 kilobuck. You can always run with cheaper components but beware, they're exactly that and you'll only have to fork out more later on down the track. I'd suggest you do your system in stages of save for a little longer. The cheapest 'full' systems we do are around the $1800 mark.
  18. I look forward to checking those piccies out Evil.
  19. Nav2k is quite right. However, before buying anything Audison let me know as I do special prices for my online forum buddies. I'd personally recommend an Audison SRx2S. Very good amp for running subs with, like this for example: They retail at $599, WAD do them for about $545 and I do them for less.
  20. Are you open to suggestions regarding the system? I'd recommend you drop one sub and run a single one fully powered rather than two half powered. Regarding your amplifiers, am I reading correctly that you wish to install the to the right of the bettery? I strongly recommend you don't do this for safety reasons. It wouldn't be good to have something as powerful as a 1505 next to the battery as they get very hot during use and need to breath more.
  21. No competition in my opinion. The JL Audio 300.4 wins.
  22. Feel free to check out our website, more specifically the photo galleries if you're looking for inspiration. www.fhrxstudios.com
  23. Nice little amp that would be very well suited to run a single subwoofer.
  24. Custom Car Sound (www.customcar.com.au) are the wholesalers. You should contact them yes.
