  2. wrx guys are starting to put some pics up.
  3. the car is standard as per sau vic rules. engine, inj, fuel pump are stock. turbo is highflow, only coz the damn thing blew at winton. running street tyres. vssc is allowing r-comp for standard class...
  4. still got em? can pickup tonight if you are around.
  5. something a miss here??? lol someone facing the wrong way in the sand
  6. takes ~ 1.5 hours from wallan to shep. so 6-6:30 leaving generally.
  7. almost every flagy point had a camera at one stage or another. watching the wrx thread
  8. damn i didnt even see the s2000 get around. what group?
  9. sure will be, see ya at wallan bp.
  10. there were no mod rwd there on the day iirc? but the standard rwd belongs to me now?? was an awesome, day...errrr night.. had a ball! there were quite a few blowups / failures / offs. include marty and I..... so after hearing wat andrew was saying about brake temps in the first session i thought i should give the car an even longer cooler down in the second session. though it didnt help. brake pedal was hitting back at me, though it may have just been warped rotors.... got onto the pre grid for the 3rd run, in the dark. this is going to be cool, glowing brakes, great pics of the flames from my car. hrm i better check those rotors. shit im out just on the outside part of the disk . . . . . . . . but then get home but that is all the way through. edit: oh they are dba 4000, so expected anyway...?
  11. the 33 upper outer arm has a pin/bolt the whole way through, so take the nut off the end and knock the pin through. then prise the arm off the upright. prise the one end of the bush off, flat head screw driver between the upright and the bush. once you have 2-4mm, some needle nose pliers, open em up and wrap them around the bush. then push back and forward until you have the bush off. then you can access the bush on the other side from the center to knock it out. you can do all that with the arm still on the car, as the bush is in the up right (its quite different to the 32 arm) . grab the new bush, knock one side in. put the bolt back on (this is if you have split bolt with the new bush) with the largest washer you can get from bunnings etc, tighten it up a bit. knock the bush in the other side and do the same. tighten em up, then take the washer out and put the arm back on.
  12. those are the outer bushes, are they the ones that are shot? there are inner bushes as well... http://203.31.191.243/fulcrumCat/ ive done it a couple of times dyi, its a pain. you could use a g clamp etc, but we used some large washers to compress the bush into place.
  13. i can explain for the r33, not sure if it is the same. there is a panel just under the wheel on the column, take that off. you should be able to unplug the airbag from there. then there should be two panels on the side of the wheel, under those there are torque screw. undo those and take the airbag section of the wheel out. then undo the nut on the shaft 5-6 turns and tug on the wheel. undo the nut the rest of the way. i didnt unplug the battery the two times i have done this, though you may want to...
  14. keep the updates coming. the car was scaring people when it had the autobox, and now a straight cut manual with lsd :bananna: got torque steer in the gear change?...heaeah
  15. from the track on monday. next car 350z? mmmmmm
  16. if the car isnt going to see the street then get the 888's, or something better like RE55 or AO48/50 KU36 and 595RSR street tyres with 140/180 tw cant be compared to 888, RE55 or AO's r-compound tyres with 40-80 tw
  17. isnt the boost climbing a little to slow? its the standard turbo? i remember you would sneeze on the throttle and mine would be at 10psi.
  18. does your car still have its road reg andrew? CATEGORY 2: MODIFIED ROAD CARS 8.1 Vehicles in this category must be Road Cars (as defined in Regulation 6.2) and presented in a condition suitable for use on a public road in Australia and must remain in such condition throughout competition at each Championship Round. 6.2 ‘Road Car’ means an original production car or a production car modified from original which is capable of being authorised by Government authority (via registration or permit) for use on public roads in Australia.
  19. ya i got the email as well. looks like some fun. though the standard class is allowing r-comp tyres? so i can just go out and buy a new set of AO50 or RE55s for each round?
  20. bearing? jack the car up and see if the wheel moves side to side? i replaced a bearing last weekend, as the ticking noise was shitting me. on the 33 there are a couple of pins that hold the brake shoes to the hub, i have had one of those snap before. that made it tick.
  21. the plates are there to stop the squeaking, iirc?
  22. yep sign up me, where do i pay. imo the day should be run as an open practice not a champ round. this way you will get more people coming to the day as their mates and gf can run as a passenger in the car all day. an sau event should be less msca/alfa (while great days) type days and more tampered motorsport type days. photo of all the cars on the grid etc etc
