  1. Semantics, similar design then. Whatever. The Thai spec ones are 1/3-1/2 the price. I wouldn't bother with the 356mm, 330mm is fine. Gives you easy option for 17" as well. I've run 8 pad sets through the caliper on two sets of rotors. $200 pad sets and $750 rotor sets.
  2. Just to give you an idea. I went up to a 324mm GTR rotor with a spacer on the caliper. I got 1 extra track day out of the pads a 2 laps more each session. Moved to 330mm rotor with ksport 8 pot piston (APP 5555 design), 3 more track days out of the pads and the brake didn't go off during the session.
  3. Pretty tidy. More confidence (better tyres) into the corners and you'll smash time off that lap. Tip, when youtube tells you the clip is shaky or dark and they can fix it. Say no. It ruins the video.
  4. Racechrono and dashware make it easy.
  5. It sure is making good power. Looks like Boz is going to be a busy boy on race day as well.
  6. I've used both and they are a very different tyre. Time-wise, there is not much in it (no more than 1 second), but it's the consistency and number of 'fast' laps you can do in a session that's the big difference. Also their performance (lap time) in hot weather is massively different. The edge of the RSR's gets hammered (soft sidewalls) very easy and they tend to wear out much faster because of that. $230 is massively cheap though! Plus $50-60 to fit the tyres to the wheels and $100 in shipping? So $270 ea ish. Cheap.
  7. The intention was actually to provide us with better value for money and 'fun' with everyone in the same group. Evidently that didn't work. If we do run another round with Neil, we'd be asking for speed based grouping. Actually a pretty slow Alfa day, not too sure what the go was. They are generally pretty fast. Watch this space, as Alfa do Broadford and I'd like to think we can run a mini championship with them next year.
  8. Was dry, sunny and windy. Track temps were very cold though.
  9. Do the bushes at least. Rear alloy collars are amazing.
  10. Try and find a spot for it in open air, it works much better than behind the intercooler.
  11. Everything takes so long...
  12. Needs oil cooler, the justjap one I have seems to do the job for cheaps cheaps.
  13. I'll bring a spare. Weather looks baller. Should be a good day.
  14. Here in the MS section a couple of times. Have a look at the semis thread.
  15. I thought they changed the compound and the FZ was much better as a table leg than as a track tyre.
  16. Right on the rev limiter in a couple of spots.
  17. A set of these on the front will fix that. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EBC-Rear-Green-Stuff-Ceramic-Performance-Brake-Pads-Part-DP21392-/290904002531?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ASportage&hash=item43bb3acfe3 or http://ksportusa.com/b2c/proddetail.php?prod=BKKI060-831SO
  18. Yep, it's all done. I'll be in a position to upload it tomorrow. I missed the apex by a mile coming into the cleavage
  19. So when are we taking it to Winton?
  20. Weather will be fine. Should be a good day.
  21. Diff is still in pieces, still using brothers non ABS housing diff. Can't say I felt a difference. mmm, not sure about that. It's a similar compound, it's not the same. They tyre doesn't go into a marshmallow state once warm like the 50's do.
  22. I don't see it any slower, does change the way you drive the car though.
  23. It was way too low! Scraping the leading edge the whole way around the track. We modded and lifted it 15mm or so. Just scraps a little under big load. I went out without the splitter in the first session. Cold, fresh tyres. Did a high 1.35 on the last lap (6). I'd say with that setup it would be a mid 1.34 I'd say. The splitter is amazing under brakes and on loaded turn in. There is much more time in it. The fastest lap was terrible. With the setup as is, 1.32 no worries. Still getting used to this no ABS thing. Plus added aero mods. Video to come. But the fastest lap was well into the session, generally fastest lap is first or second hot lap.
