Hi, Wife has v36 sedan as a family car. We love it, well built and sturdy for the kids. K&N air filters but it pings a bit in summer on hot days. We always run BP 98. Only downside is the fuel economy, which is felt even more now with petrol prices getting stupid. Ive read ECU tuning is limited and expensive, any suggestions ? Is there anything basic and cheap for tune ? Can you play with the fuel and ignition for economy ? Can we chuck the standard air filters back in and just run it on normal unleaded ?

Thanks Lith, i haven't been on here for a few years now. Always looking at street sensible (budget) RB25s. From memory the 5858 sounded familar and also the 6262. Quite a few yanks had some good results on their Evo / WRX. Just looking at the Precision website, what are the new "gun" turbos ? GEN2 PT5558 – 650hp GEN2 PT5862 – 700hp GEN2 PT6062 – 750hp

Bump I used to go through this thread countless times.... Anymore updates / info on these turbos over the past year ?

R377 M-Spec R33 Gts-T Build

With new oil cooler it takes 20-30 minutes of idling to get the gauge to move. Even at the track it takes a while and is always super low temps. I installed it low and air flow, ive now had to put cardboard across the front to try and keep some heat in - just gets so cool so quickly. 15-60 for race oil and tracking is not necessary now, just regular 15-40 Nulon is fine. Even with the oil cooler 4.75 L of oil is needed to fill up. -

I have a crown majesta 186 and absolute love it. The next model after (S200 series) isn't that much more expensive and with a 8 speed gearbox is slightly more economical. My 186 crown ran an easy 14.2 on only two passes, so 13.8 to 14.0 would be expected. can get around 8L on highway and around 11L around town. -

Hi, I have BC gold coilovers. Standard I think they are 6 and 8kg. I use it for track mainly but some street. My question is, if i turn them up to full hardness would that be equivalent to say 8 and 10kg on a soft setting ? Would a 6 and 8kg on hard be the same stiffness as a 8 and 10 on soft ? Shall i go harder for the track ? thx

Evo/GTR Brembos on to other things
R377 replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I bought and used Alpha Omega for track days. I'm really happy with them - stock master cylinder too. They pull up so well I have to use travel sick tablets now while on the track !! The design is so strong, no way they break. I did all the research into BBK etc other brands but have heard of evo track guys going back to their stock brakes after BBK upgrades- 32 replies

Engine Oil Cooler Kit 2003 350GT V35 Skyline
R377 replied to dufismott's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Unless you track the car i don't think you need an oil cooler. I would keep an eye on the temps and maybe upgrade to alumin radiator if needed- 7 replies

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a series 2 r33 gts-t which i thought were all ABS ? Actually just googling not all have ABS like i thought.... Mine does not have ABS. I haven't touched it but maybe somebody else did. The front right does lockup before both front lock up. I have played around the ride height abit but not tracked it or driven it in anger yet... I wear normal sneakers that are worn on the soles. I also had a play around in the garage wearing crocs as same as the sneaker - not much grip but a thinner sole. I have standard pedals. I have just installed the evo brembo front and rear kit 350mm f and r

R377 M-Spec R33 Gts-T Build
R377 replied to R377's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Just starting to do a few track days. My track has 3 long straights followed by hairpins so i dont' wanna be diff locking all time. With the heel and toe technique - Ive got a r33 gts-t with evo brembo front and rear. The brakes are so good, it only takes a light touch at the top to get it to stop. My accelerator pedal is much lower down than the brake so im having big problems with heel and toe to downchange gears (im not even getting it close) I was going to put a layer or two on the accelerator pedal to try and the get the same sort of height, but even with this the brakes are heaps sensitive. Any suggestions ? thanks -
