  1. WTB - 2 or 4 tyres 225/50/16. must be a quality brand of tyre and have plenty of life left. eg. no retreads or cheap/budget tyres.
  2. mid last year i was looking at importing an Evo VIII for around $30k or a R34 GTR for around $50k. 2008 Average Rates January 95.1924 JPY (23 days average) February 97.7348 JPY (21 days average) March 92.9197 JPY (21 days average) April 95.5892 JPY (22 days average) May 99.0637 JPY (22 days average) June 101.684 JPY (21 days average) July 102.771 JPY (23 days average) August 96.4547 JPY (21 days average) September 87.3348 JPY (22 days average) October 68.7377 JPY (23 days average) November 63.942 JPY (20 days average) December 61.3314 JPY (23 days average) but it seems since a year ago, these cars are worth about the same on the second hand market. Actually im not sure are they even more expensive to import now ?? 2009 Average Rates January 61.0344 JPY (21 days average) February 59.9958 JPY (20 days average) March 65.1678 JPY (22 days average) April 70.5158 JPY (21 days average) May 73.8749 JPY (21 days average) June 77.5364 JPY (22 days average) July 76.0653 JPY (23 days average) August 80.3344 JPY (7 days average) any economists here ? do you think it might be back up to around 100 by the end of the year ?
  3. ive got a r33 gts-t series 2 and am changing over the steering boots. My original boots had 48059 marked on them. Not sure if this is correct as they were quite difficult to get off (i had to cut them off in the end) After reading on here i decided to get the universal boot, rrb 000 i have put the 2 boots together. as you can see the end diameter will not fit over the steering rack. i could cut the last few rings off which could work or is there a better option ??

  7. ive had a search and couldn't see an exact answer to my question: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...=remove+tie+rod ive just bought aftermarket tie rod kit and having problems removing the originals including the boots. ive got the ball joints separated from the hub but having problems removing the tie rod from the actual steering rack and can't seem to remove the actual boot. my question is how do you do it ? is the a nut i need to crack underneath the boot or are they suppose to just be unscrewed ? any tips in getting the boot off ? does it come off toward you or away from you ?
  8. i would be hesitant to buy without a roadworthy... i looked at car from melb "didn't have time to get a roadworthy" when i got the vehicle inspected it had a stack of problems. the second car which i actually bought was modified more than the first but the owner was still willing to put it back to standard and get a road worthy. they aren't as strict over there so it didn't take too much.

  18. hi, just spent the last couple of hours searching around how to bring an interstate car into SA. Register the vehicle in your name interstate, then here you just transfer it over or take it Sturt for a VIN before the interstate rego runs out. Now to my question which i couldn't find......... What would happen if you left the interstate rego plate on full-time and they pulled you over and try to defect your car ? would it get sent to regency or would you have to get inspected in the state that its registered in ? Technically you live and your car is registered interstate, what is the situation about getting defected interstate ?
