what dya rekn the chances of getting a 5k car from ES to pass the pits are dont you guys have a study break now? mines the week after i think..?
-
that would actually be an incredibly fun trip - james when are your uni holidays? LOL perth has soo few cars and they cost a ton im just worried about geting a RWC in perth when i bring the car over, my budget for this next cars like 5k so obviously its not gonna be 100% perfect, and might get picked up at the pits for a whole ton of stuff .. that would be annoying!

Perth Detailing Trip Day 1
Jonno34 replied to immacreflections's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
ah thats a shame, well it sounds like another good product to use! ill add that into my detailing procedure for next time i think! looking forward to seeing the rest of the pics from your detailing trip here mate -
the non turbo one runs a L20 - 2L non turbo .. i think its the same engine as a maxima of that era ahahah that 311 is CUTE
-
ahh a little bit of rust on the rear end, but otherwise pretty good also the interior had some bits falling apart and stuff but it was alright imo yeah i think the manual conversion would do well for it its only the L20 engine though - 2L n/a isnt enough to power that thing how hard is a manual conversion to do? its such a looker im actually considering it though ... dya rekon a RB30 swap into that would be any good? RB30 + extractors/exhorst + manual conversion jizz.

just finished detailing it too dark for pics - pics will be there tomorrow 120y is so not silly! 280zx was beautiful, just a slug to drive ... automatic was horrible + weak engine for a heavy car
-
james the datto i think is about to get sold i didnt get to go see the guy was to busy and he already got an offer :( (the 120y sedan) the 280zx was pretty good though! but automatic and 2L non turbo in that heavy body = SLUG i test drove it .. handles very well, but slow as hell and with automatic transmission it just wouldnt get going - i thinks it needs RB engine + manual conversion? also the old mans not keen on the euros (porsche/bmw) yeah agree to what u said rod the sedans are lots nicer, but im restricted on choice .. if i go down the classic car road i dont mind waiting it out for a nice one tho! i also went to see the EG sedan civic - it had no paint left at all :| half the car was just faded away interior was also in pretty nasty condition and the owner didnt seem like he gave 2 craps about the car at all so i walked away from that one i just mass detailed the sexcel -- looks effing amazing will show you guys pics tomoro LOL putting the ad up later tnite and pics tomoro! looking forward to having the cash in hand

gonna go check out the 280zx and hopefully the 120Y as well now!

Classics up for sale ATM: what do you guys think? http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-Datsun-1974-120y-coupe-W0QQAdIdZ312094606 http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-Nissan-Datsun-280ZX-for-SALE-W0QQAdIdZ312888296 http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-datsun-120y-sedan-W0QQAdIdZ312863551 the last 2 are auto though ... auto - manual conversion needed perhaps?

Rod your KE looks great! heaps good condition I love KE rollas, and I can get a cheap 4AGE easily, a friend of mine has a written of ae86 sitting around Paul - Not serious track work, i haven't done much before, just a few skidpan days here and there but im still learning, im looking for a car I can work on and get some relatively good results - obviously not gonna get mass hp out of a 5k car ... cheap parts and easy to work on are probably my main requirements! i dont make much money unfortunately I'd love the old Rollas/Datsuns since I just have a thing for the old classics, but looking at some other projects it looked like they needed alot of work to be done converting the suspension/brakes before I could even start working on power by putting a newer engine in? But I'd love to restore one and work on it, that would be my favourite out of all the cars that have been mentioned Just worried with my limited funding I wouldn't be able to afford it, whereas with something like a civic/integra I can probably just do a few mods on the brakes/sway bars and the car would already be ready for some light track work mattah - i know! hahaha ive seen 100's of good reviews and i met a guy with a mx5 who told me how good the club was with track days etc ... but ... http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-Mazda-Mx-5-good-condition-W0QQAdIdZ301662537 thats the only mx5 in perth i can afford and ... it looks like i got it from "papa smurf" LOL

-
I live my one life on a very meager salary (for now) lol!
-
im feeling peer pressured! hahahaha its definitely one hell of a car though, looks amazing ... imagine owning a porsche please let my bunky sell quick, i want moar powa NOW! lol
-
from wiki: The number of surviving 944s is falling due to the high maintenance costs yikes 924 may be a better option perhaps?
-
ah i didnt see your edit till just then thanks to you im thrown back into confusion! ahahaha urs was in amazingly good shape man and godamn you've been through alot of cars i need to go out and drive the civics, integras and this car and see which I like the most probably wouldnt do much in terms of modifications on the porsches though hey
-
O.M.G so tempted! Do I, Jonno, have the monetary funds to own and maintain a porsche? soooooooooooooo tempted
-
im studying there too haha i have a dark blue 34 GT with impul sides/rear and green P plates, but that only comes down very rarely, most of the time you would see me in a black hyundai accent or a white Sexcel im too scared to take the skyline to uni - people always open their doors into my cars! pretty cool how we're both on SAU, both go UWA and live right next to each other lol!
-
hahaha Hey man! yeah very interested in taking a look, gonna put up my sexcel for sale tomorrow and hopefully get rid of it asap im close by you as well! im just around mount claremont and go to uni at UWA in crawley maybe it was really meant to be
-
what a coincidence looks like it was meant to be mmm not really a fan of the hatch civics ... http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-Honda-Civic-VTI-94-W0QQAdIdZ310806290 http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-Honda-Civic-for-sale-W0QQAdIdZ312470731 are the main ones im considering with civics EK coupe looks good, but im leaning towards the EG vti, if i can pick that up around 2.5k .. leaves me with 2.5 more to work on brakes/suspension etc, and it may already be decent fun on tracks since the vti comes with a (slightly) more powerful engine - wiki says 96kw vs 74 but the EK already has 17s and probably better tyres as well - that in itself would probably cost me a good 2k making up for the difference in price of car?
-
cheers matthew, its looking like ill stick to the EG/EK civic or i found a nice DC2 integra for sale .. http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-Honda-Integra-DC2-VTi-R-B18C-VTEC-W0QQAdIdZ309815626 if i cant get that one ill just stick to the civics looks like a good way to go
-
no idea but i thought BMWs needed more $$ for normal maintenance ... im just doing some research on other peoples 120Y/Ke rolla projects and see how much theyve costed them, if it doesnt seem to expensive im really quite keen on the 120Y, i dont mind waiting around till a good one pops up if not im probably sold on the hondas - just need to decide out of civic/prelude/integra
-
http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-Honda-Civic-for-sale-W0QQAdIdZ312470731 that looks really nice to me .. although if i was to buy something like a civic id prefer an older/cheaper one .. http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-Honda-Civic-VTI-94-W0QQAdIdZ310806290 like this! theres also this e30 .. looks to be in great condition http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-1986-Bmw-325i-E30-W0QQAdIdZ289164601 wouldn't it become expensive to keep sending it to a bmw specialist for servicing etc though? i dont know much about bmw's but ive been told they get expensive to maintain ..
