Perth Detailing Trip Day 1
Jonno34 replied to immacreflections's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
looks great mitch, what is Iron X and how does it work? looks like its doing an amazing job on the wheels! -
theres not much range locally though and for the same price the eastern state ones seem to be alot better what if i drove it over?
-
+1 i just dislike how they drive too, i had the honour of driving a VRX colt at work back to the dealership - yuck swift is great for a girls car btw what about a hatchback impreza? never driven one but they look okay focus felt great to drive, just felt like a really sturdy car
-
hows everyones experience been with this? im thinking of bringing a car in from the eastern states, they seem to be alot cheaper and there's a whole lot more of them. are they usually pretty fussy about the RWC and rego'ing the car here? i would be bringing in something older around the 5k mark, so the car is likely to not be 100% roadworthy ..

i dont think a tip will really make much of a difference in sound.... standard exhaust is good, nice and quiet

R34 Gtt Rear Quarter Panel Gtr Conversion
Jonno34 replied to sevan34's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
those are also really expensive, imo if you want a body kit just get something nice that was made for a gt-t, and if you want put a bonnet made for a gt-r on, and a mole to give the front that more round and aggressive look -
R34 Gtt Rear Quarter Panel Gtr Conversion
Jonno34 replied to sevan34's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
sevan: yes, the gt-r conversion is MONSTROUSLY costly, while the body parts themselves may not be overly so, the cost of fitting and spraying it is likely to double the cost of the parts, since the gt-r conversion covers almost all of the car. I think its estimated at around 6k or so? you could do alot with 6k mate -
no ... we really dont

^ the same as everyone else has, in fact, really the only option... and +1 to what ben said

R34: Replacing Spark Plugs On Neo6 (rb20de, Rb25de)
Jonno34 replied to Kirill's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
great post mate, wish i saw this before i was charged 450 for a set of 2nd hand coils and copper sparkies + labour 3 different mechanics in perth told me changing spark plugs on 34's was a big job so i let them do the work -
mandrel bent 2.5" mild steel custom made system. include 0-2 extra mufflers in the middle of the system, oval muffler on end. will cost around 600 or so. just go to a local exhaust shop and get one made up. this topic was covered in a previous post .... MANY times, in fact there was one just yesterday if you had bothered to read.

R34 N/a 4Dr Exhaust Recommendation?
Jonno34 replied to Myfine Skyline R34!'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
OP i think ur making a good choice with the mild steel system the money you saved could be put towards the other few mods that can help an n/a skyline out i also have an oval with twin tips mild steel muffler as well, much cheaper than the stainless mufflers, and sounds nice too Mark - the next dollars spent on the skyline will be put towards a good set of shocks or coilovers - the current shocks are leaking and need replacement anyway .. that was perhaps 6 months ago .. i should really fork out the cash sometime soon! -
the price difference from 95 to 98 isnt that big a gap is it really may as well just go 98 then... it seemed to run fine on 91 octane but i rarely drive my skyline anyway its no longer a daily so im happy to run it on good fuels
-
^ im so sold on that for my next car
-
hmm may consider just running 91 octane then, i did feel it ran alot nicer on 98 vs 91 though .. placebo effect perhaps
-
yeah i have found my fuel economy got a little bit better when running it on v power ... but really for 15c a litre more it may not be much savings there, but oh well only the best for my baby

R34 N/a 4Dr Exhaust Recommendation?
Jonno34 replied to Myfine Skyline R34!'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah i havnt noticed any performance difference since adding the exhaust system, already have a hi flow panel filter and tires luckily my exhaust system was 2nd hand got it for 120 bucks just need to work on brakes/suspension and then ill probably be done with this car, but i keep throwing away my money on bunkies Mark whats your opinion on extractors? worth the money? -
Pedders Shocks Are They Any Good?
Jonno34 replied to aardi's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
cheers mate good info! wont go trying to install them myself then my car really doesnt need the very best set up available - its rarely tracked or anything (its n/a after all!) and i just want to improve the ride while replacing a set of shocks that are leaking anyway my only hestitation with the BC's is that they arent set up to australian road conditions, whereas sydneykids set up is im flat broke at the moment anyway so ill take things slow and hopefully make the right decision in the end! -
R34 N/a 4Dr Exhaust Recommendation?
Jonno34 replied to Myfine Skyline R34!'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
as far as i know no diference performance wise between stainless/mild steel, most exhausts are made with mild steel i THINK that mild steel gives a deeper note, stainless will be more high pitched exhausts are a simple thing, the difference in price between jap and custom made is probably just paying for the brand name flow wise their both made the same (in shape etc) and their both 2.5" so the same amount of air would be passing through imo .. if i was in your position, and happy to fork out up to 1200 for an exhaust sytem, id get the custom made mild steel with the high flow cat, and use the 600 savings for a set of extractors. that should get you the most performance you could get out of your exhaust system. -
my car used to run on valvoline - was finee i just use turbolight 10 40 now for the skyline helix imo is a good oil for the money, valvoline engine armour can be quite cheap on sale too .. i service my bunky with helix
-
even without P plate restrictions (which i don't have in WA) id still hesitate to buy a turbo skyline ... theres no way i can afford insurance for it
