  1. yeap i do it with a filter change as well! its just on the line for mine too have no idea why ...
  2. performance would be about the same both cars quite low on power (34 may have a teeeny bit more but i think the difference wouldnt be very drastic - i drove the 2.5L RS model impreza and i found the performance to be pretty much the same on both) ... i do like driving my n/a 34 still though, its a nice car to drive as long as you dont rice it up a whole ton and think its the fastest thing on the streets you will enjoy a flameless and happy time with your skyline if you want performance do get a gt-t .. their pretty much the same price these days as the n/a skylines cons - no AWD, older, probably gna wanna put 98 octane fuel in it whereas you wouldnt in an impreza? oh and its an import - higher insurance and probably more expensive parts and the like on that note do many people put 98 into a n/a skyline?
  3. ive used 2 different oils now, motul 4100? turbolight 10 40 and before that used to use mobil 1 5-50 both only used 3.5L (not even close to 4)
  4. thats my detail Clay using FI clay and lube 2 stage machine polish with bosch gex150t and FI orange and black pads, and FI CAP medium and extra fine polishes and sealed using FI SEAL regular (Where theres 2 pics of the same spot the one on the left is the after and the one on the right is the before)
  5. yeap altia front bar, i think thats the east bear lip for the front bumper the rear bumper is the nismo s - tune one not entirely too sure about the side skirts though? perhaps thats the s tune skirts?
  6. supatool good? really? I've seen them at bunnings in massive sets for really cheap but when i was shopping for my tools I didnt want to go for anything too cheap .. i went and got repco stuff, very happy with it perhaps ill get some supatool stuff someday to try it out ..
  7. best site ever! love the <5000 range - a comprehensive list of bunkies for me to work my way through, can't wait to get another bunky after im finished fixing up this sexcel driving all these old cars is actually fun - no power steering etc, i think its a good experience btw how is the r31 in auto? i could never find a manual one when i was trying to find a bunkie
  8. what the.. my 34s rb25de only takes about 3.5L... i use motul turbolight 10w40 btw
  9. yes, but it costs a ridiculous amount
  10. Ian I cant see any pic unfortunately, but no i dont think a clay bar would remove a scuff mark in general id go for a good polish perhaps .. need to see the pic though
  11. most of the detailing stuff you buy online such as stoners from FI is all tint safe but yeah the megs NXT glass cleaner i use doesnt really advertise tint safe ....
  12. my mechanic used to use valvoline 15w 40 engine armour that was fine as well
  13. haha yeah it looks fake .. but damn that is a nice looking car
  14. Oh well I do all my work myself anyways but would be nice to at least have one ... niche in the market perhaps And +1 for Zaino i've heard good things about that too
  15. I do wait until the oil has finished dripping but that really only takes about 10 15 minutes at most .. is it a big deal that my cars using alot less oil than others?
  16. I still have a whole bottle of turtle wax ice wash from when i used off the shelf stuff : Would like to change to other goodies but its a bit of a waste Yeah autosmart is terrible stuff wash isnt v lubricating, polish .. doesnt really seem to do anything and is really a wax but doesnt provide any protection either? the window cleaning chemical may be good but we use rags to clean em :| takes me 20 minutes to do windows! "g101" is basically the same as GPC by FI so thats alright and the acid for wheels is very effective .. but damn that hurts like hell in ur eyes or ur cuts thankfully we use clay magic clay which is decent Does perth have any "premium" detailers which really focus on doing a good job? I couldnt find any when i was trying to find somewhere to work at ...
  17. yeap changing and draining the oil filter as well, and the oil was quite hot when we drained it .. never waited an hour + though didnt know i needed to
  18. nah its in good shape ... im not too sure why it takes so little I thought it would take around abouts 5 as well? I saw someone else with a n/a r34 and it only uses about 3.5 as well but we seem to be the exception ..
  19. LOL i just mean that since my car only uses 3.2-3.5L of oil 1.5-1.8L is remaining and if i was to change to a different oil itd be a waste of the remaining few litres
  20. Fml. I went to turbolight cos i prefer to change my oil more often with a good enough semi synthetic oil like the turbolight than a full synthetic like the mobil1 5w50 changed not as frequently ... I got it from Repco? My 34 also uses an awkward amount of oil .. 3.2-3.5L is enough for a topup usually so i could effectively get about 3 topups if i was to buy a second bottle. if it used more i wouldnt feel so bad changing oils more often but its such a waste to throw away the remaining 1.5-1.8L I thought most skylines used about the 5L mark though ... no idea why my tank is so small
  21. I got motul turbolight 10w-40 for the n/a skyline 60 bucks a bottle opposed to 80 for 5w-50 mobil1 .. its run 93,000 ish I use shell helix 15w-50 for my sexcel .. which has run about 265,000 ... only about 30 bucks a bottle
  22. I did a 2 stage polish, CAP Medium and CAP extra fine ... the difference in shine wasnt all that great after extra fine? it just felt very squeeky and stuff ... it was alot easier to apply though and damn $300 is cheap for a machine polish and whatnot - its probably taken me a good 15-18 hours to get my paintwork to a level im happy with. my workplace charges $200 for a far inferior detail using not as good products and all that ... so thats a real good deal on another note ... I tried a mothers Palm polisher awhile back on the other cars .. not very effective at swirl removal? i used a bosch gex150T, FI pads and the CAP stuff and it came out great with just 1 pass of CAP medium and 2 on the really badly swirled panels
  23. I think we're all taking this too personally. But FI customers do develop a good relationship with Damian and Elise Their very helpful and all and give great customer service. and i LOL at the test that was done that is a LOT of sealants hahahahaha poor guy I've only ever used some TW Ice "polish" which is really a wax? Meguiars NXT tech wax, and some old old meguiars stuff my dad got a long time ago (it still works) and FI SEAL. I find SEAL easy to use, seems to give my cars very good results and lasts more than long enough. I almost miss regularly applying wax but I find myself more busy these days (as you can see 2 months between washes on the hyundai) I dont think ANYBODY has used enough sealants properly for an extended amount of time to say which is truly the best sealant in the world. Some people may just prefer what they use to other stuff My workplace uses "Autosmart" brand detailing stuff ... imo fails. but hey its a job ..
  24. dori what body kit did you have? I remember seeing ur car in alot of pics while i was lookin for which body kit i wanted and it looked heaps good but i cant remember what it was ... just remember u had a nice one *edit* - the silver one i think is a top secret bumper with a uras bonnet lip - and the blue one is just super sexy but i dont think its an actual car? not too sure
  25. oh well im not too bothered what everyone wants to use, as long as ur not buying al cheapo stuff im sure its all good - some maybe better than others but the difference is prob not a huge deal i just prefer buying all my stuff from FI for conveniences sake, havent really tried any other sealants but its doing a good job on my cars so im happy i have 2 bottles of the FW1 stuff .. people bought it for me dono wtf to do with it lol
