  1. Yeah I'll keep my eye out for a rego'd ke70 I do like those cars .. R31's are nice too but unless its a real good deal their a bit big and since I'm paying for fuel and everything (on a crappy $100 bucks a week salary) ... i'd like something a bit more economical Will probably keep looking for a good old Corolla or Pulsar or even a Ford Laser
  2. This is slightly awkward, the car is actually a 1986 E80 .. without an immobiliser .. and by WA Laws illegal if this is the case .. Fail? The seller said he may take the car back cos he feels bad and advertised it wrong etc We shall see the outcome ..
  3. This is strange, i think the cars actually FWD and an e80 not 70 .. but the car was made in 1980 which would make it an e70 .. time to check the codes
  4. Bob the Bunky! Considered Corrie the Corolla ... I'll decide one day
  5. BARGAAAIN!! Hahaha How many cars do you have James?
  6. Thanks everybody for all your inputs/advice/answers and helping me get bob the bunky!
  7. I'd LOVE an ae86 their cool as .. but yeah too much money We should have a bunky meet up LOL .. If we can get our cars that far
  8. Pretty sure its RWD .. google says so! James - MULTICOLOURED CARS ARE COOL! May practice some painting techniques on my lil bunkie for some lols?
  9. I also just discovered the top half of the dash is missing and the passengers side window doesnt have the windy thingo ... TO THE WRECKERS?
  10. http://perth.gumtree...AdIdZ286528125# thats the ad! James that looks like a nice buy! How many cars do you have now? LOL Pretty sure the 1980 rollas were RWD Yeah? Yes I'm a bit bummed about the a/c ... but I havent found any other car that drives better, and id rather a nice well working car without a/c i guess .. although im probably just saying that while its winter!
  11. Its here! I name it .. Bob the Bunky 1980 corolla sedan .. pics will be up asap! I should take it to work and give it a real good detail/clean first Its worse than I initially thought but I picked it up for 800 bucks .. gonna get a mate who knows his stuff over and give it a real good checking out
  12. Oh wow never knew that about the one mirror :s Yeah I've googled it and it seems to be an easy fix! Pretty sure this one is confirmed !
  13. Hey Brenno, cheers so much for the offer that would be great! Mechanics seem to be unwilling to take a unqualified person in even as a volunteer which is understandable but a pity I should be getting a nice lil bunkie car sometime soon. Hopefully this one actually goes through, I've had real bad luck with cars selling just before I confirm to buy the car ... but already confirmed this one and hopefully it goes well, just gonna get a friend to come with me and check the car out real thoroughly this weekend!
  14. Well the hatch felt very weird to drive so thats a no go-er the sedan is very likely though, the owner said hes taking it into a mechanics for me to check everything out and if it checks out well then we'll see : Just one question ... were they missing a side mirror on the left hand side? the owner said its a factory thing ... And also how hard is a dodgy speedo to fix?
  15. Yeah I'll go slow on the tools, maybe buy good quality stuff as I go slowly ... Or im thinking of using the Workshop in forrestfield thats available for hire "m'mates place" or something till I have some good tools
  16. Arthur that sounds like a good idea, would probably be able to get a good car from them, but would I have to get it to pass the pits/no rego etc? No more R31s for sale in perth at a affordable price Checking out 2 corollas today, a 1980 sedan and 1983 hatch
  17. Yeah it was a damn good buy but tomoro evening was the earliest I could make it to see the car ... This is getting ghey.
  18. wtf .. i think the r31 just got sold the ads no longer on gumtree HOW do these cars get sold in <1 day this is ridiculous!
  19. I have enough time I think ... thats not much of a problem Tools/Skill/Space to work on is the biggest issue for me ... really need to check out M'Mates place for SAUWA members
  20. theres also a TON of cars in the quokka that read well ... BTW Is a head gasket a big job to DIY? I heard the actual part was cheap but it just took a fair bit of time ...
  21. theres also this http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-1994-Ford-Laser-W0QQAdIdZ286541568 800 bucks for a 1994 car? I dont think theyd have the old school dashes though
  22. I went and checked it out ... 800 bucks for blown head gasket and horrible condition and no rego .. probably not worth it looking at r31s, lasers/rollas/pulsars now
  23. Ill check the skyline out tomorrow and maybe try and fit in a laser/rolla/pulsar during the day too I like em all gonna be a tough decision
  24. Ahh sweet the car sounds perfect then sorry for such a nooby question i dont know anything Ill be seeing the skyline tomorrow evening ... bit of a waste of time to see it in the evening but its such a great buy n i just want the guy to know im serious so he doesnt sell the car ... i seem to have real bad luck in that way I was thinking of considering a ford laser ... I work right next to a wrecker specialising in ford lasers LOL Yeah a small car would be better .. but its such a great buy and skylines are just special
  25. WA is more expensive for the actual car itself though and most parts are in eastern states!
