if u used a real gt-r front bar you'd have to do the whole front end conversion, which is quite costly and difficult whats the diff between fibreglass/plastic though? i know east bear uses plastic and so is very expensive
-
well, i think the rear fenders on viva are for gtt, and the M1 are just wider gtt fenders, not too sure about the other one though, im emailing them since im also interested to find out and ill let you know when i get a reply
-
atm i got turtle wax wash/polish, gonna use em up first before i buy anything better got the tech wax from meguiars too gonna clay car soon and fix the headlight covers. never really looked at mothers products, will check it out i guess cheers
-
i think those fenders are for gt-r.. not too sure tho, email them, they reply to emails
-
which do you guys rekon is beter meguiars gold class range OR meguiars nxt generation range
-
well ive looked at pretty much all the better brands bumpers for r34's never seen that before so probably not a great one to get, but i'm not too sure really
-
haha ok, does jsai ever pick up their phone lol? left messages, called them, emailed them... cant get through!!
-
not too sure, they havent replied my last few calls, will keep trying though. no, never seen that kit before lol, what kit is it though?
-
the gtt nismo z tune bar? yeah thats what im thinking of, trying to find a picture of it with a hood though. saw the pic of your car, looks good, love the pic of the gtt z tune next to the gtr z tune http://www.vivagarage.com.au/nissan/nissan_r34_bonnet.html thats the link to the hood i'm thinking of putting on, sorry couldnt attach the pic, the site has it copyrighted i think. also thinking of the "type N" kit from viva as well, but after seeing the pics of your car i think thats what ill go for (if i cant get a second hand east bear or something). was that just the front bumper + side skirts you changed?
-
haha yeah its not very nice i think if i cant find a relatively cheap east bear kit i might just get the gtt nismo style kit from jsai or the nismo r34 kit from vivagarage.com as well as their type W hood. will work out to about 700-1000 bucks for the parts, alot cheaper than the 6k i've seen so far for east bear. will probably save up for a gt-r if i do go along that road, but still hoping for east bear atm.

Hi, Looking to buy the full East Bear "new type" kit. Its pretty expensive new, so looking out for a second hand one. If anybody has any of the parts could you pm me or call/text 0403 412 224? Looking for: New type front bumper with type 1 spoiler type 1 (the bit under the front bumper) (would be nice if you had the grill too but optional) FRP bonnet with vent 2 Door rear bumper (would be nice if CF diffuser was on but optional) 2 Door side skirts
-
yeah but they did say they would sell off some existing stock, hopefully ill get lucky and find one there. hoping to get it second hand locally or import from japan myself. gonna look around on the forums in the for sale and put up a post in the wanted to buy section, hopefully will get something, definitely settled on the east bear kit now i'm pretty sure though.

yeah, definitely top 2 brands in this post are mothers and meguiars, pretty accurate description of real life i think too, alot of the car enthusiasts i know use those 2 brands. after i first bought my car i used the autoglym paint restorer, worked wonders on my car, so i think their alright. personally, im sure any of the better brands (including autoglym) would make good products anyway, so you should be alright, but having used meguiars i will say that it is one of the best products ive used so far. planning to get the quik clay kit in a few weeks next time i have enough time to do a big clean up on my car v. excited

yeah at the moment its pretty much deciding between the east bear gts-r kit, and the full gt-r front end conversion for now (z-tune front bumper from jsai, stock fenders looking at the ones from vivagarage 300 for both, and the hood I am still trying to find, trying to find the same type of bonnet used in the new fast/furious 34 gt-r), going to contact JSAI and C-Red in perth who also sells the east bear kit and see which one will work out best for me, alot of phone calls to make soon.

hey guys, this is what i did last time i cleaned my car, got pretty nice results, i know there's still alot more i can do, but this was pretty quick and got nice results 1. rinse well 2. washed with turtle wax ice wash (i know this isn't that great, but I have a whole big bottle and don't really want to waste it, and it works ok) (also used the 2 bucket method) 3. polished with turtle wax ice polish (again, not so great, but don't want to waste it) 4. waxed with meguiars tech wax 2 5. cleaned windows with meguiars nxt glass cleaner, since my windows were getting dirty and fogging up alot, they look great now you can get all this stuff from supercheap auto, repco and other similar shops would probably have it too, but gotta say thumbs up to tech wax, love that stuff.

yeah im quite sure i'll stick to modifying my car, insurance costs for a twin turbo/turbo are a fair bit larger anyway, it'd work out more expensive in the long run and this way I get to do it up exactly as i want to need to work out the cost of doing the full conversion... i'd prefer it that way but i think some parts of the actual gt-r dont fit perfectly on without some modification, so a bit worried about that bit. btw, a bit off topic but finished respraying the centre panel of the interior today same as gt-r (silver down the bottom, black up the top) but i kept the ashtray black, thought it looked better that way

it costs 3k to deliver a body kit from japan? oh my god thats terrible ... I have a friend in Japan and another friend who is a pilot, he mentioned once that he can send some stuff i need for like 10% the price or something. Gotta check that out .. might work out alot cheaper. worked out to about 7k total cost for the whole kit from RHD japan. yeah they didnt pick up their phone on saturday on friday, got lucky then haha
-
oh my god ... i just called powerplay imports this morning, the kit costs around 6.5k +++ dont know what im going to do, but i looked on the east bear site, the whole kit there costs around 3.5k ...
-
haha cheers, im quite sure now im set for the east bear kit the full gt-r conversion looks very complicated and expensive, the east bear looks simple and good

Unfortunately, I live in WA, and can't seem to find a good importer of parts who will do it for a reasonable price down here. Was quoted some ridiculously high figures yesterday when i went to talk to one of them. But i do have some family in sydney, might get them to help out a bit Starting to question the whole conversion, could end up being a similar price for a gt-r I pm'ed the guy who did the conversion on the skyline owners club (He was in UK) and he gave me a list of parts i would need for the front .. Unfortunately it is not quite as straight forward as i hoped there is a good bit of modifying to be done. for the fort end you will require: gtr front fenders gtr front splash guards or gtt ones can be modified to fit the wider arches buy drilling new holes. gtr bonnet and hinges. gtr bumper gtr reinforcement bar or gtt bar can be modified to fit gtr bumper. gtr bonnet catch did anybody else need this many parts for the front? also, the workshop i talked to yesterday told me the gt-r parts may not fit my car ... could be some problems any similar problems NZMO? cheers jonno
-
yeah im quite sure he was in UK ... if u double the money its about the same price as it is here damn thats really expensive! i think it'd only be around ... 3k (its around 1.5k for the parts for front, assuming same for rear half) for the whole gt-r conversion pieces, before fitted/sprayed though. east bear kit is very nice, but you do miss out on the wide fenders, was hoping i could find some aftermarket wide gtt fenders, but you do have the guarantee that it will fit easily on a gt-t since it was made for it .. thanks for that, gonna PM him right away * does anybody know if the gt-r fenders will fit onto my car if i put the gts-r east bear kit on?
-
oh by the way good luck with your conversion trini, I think we're both gonna need it
-
wow, signed up to that site, read it all.. 15k to get it all done?? thats crazy! wait.. was that in UK? if it is in UK then it's about the same, not too sure what the currency is at now .. got my car for 15-16k, a guy in melbourne got me a very good deal. I think the whole conversion + a little bit of performance work and some interior work will work out to around 15-16 as well ... so yeah.. also, i talked to a panelbeater today, he was worried the standard gt-r parts might not fit and that i might need a custom kit designed to fit a gt. Anybody encountered this problem before? If so, then I'll definitely go for the east bear gts-r kit.
-
hey checked out a few more kits and found out that the EAST BEAR GTS-R bodykit has a full kit for the conversion, and you don't have to change the fenders (this is from powerplayimports) but, I really like the wider fenders of the gt-r, and i'm not too sure if i get the east bear kit if i would be able to buy some wider gt-t fenders or something instead, do such a thing exist? http://powerplayimports.com/index.php?page...t&cat_id=52 im looking at the 4 piece new type front bumper set with the aero bonnet sorry couldnt attach the pictures, the site has them copyrighted xD its another interesting option to consider, so far looking at this or getting a full front set from jsai, will need to ring them both up and see which option works out cheaper, if the east bear is alot cheaper i'll probably just go without the wider fenders also checked out the price for fitting/spraying the whole front conversion with a workshop, worked up to around 2k!

nice! cheers mate gonna head down to supercheap auto to pick up some of the stuff in that vid =D will definitely check out the sites too.
