The Evolution Of "night Fury"
Jonno34 replied to jez NF's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
And great friends (me) lol! -
factory 8/6 setup on lowest damper setting is almost as good as stock!! I use it as a daily, but was great for a run in the hills today!! handled so much better than stock, even on softest damper setting
-
im on the very softest, its not much more stiff/uncomfortable than stock, but it feels alot nicer to corner etc

Can A Sander Be Used Like A Polisher?

a random orbital is quite safe at low speeds. rotaries scare the crap out of me, ive never tried one and most likely never really will, my random orbital on forced rotation is more than enough for me but as antonio said - GOOD PADS ! -
yeah ill definitely pay for warranty! budget would be like 900-1000 without warranty i guess. the number of things i've had go wrong with laptops ill definitely get extended warranty haha.
-
the XPS 15 seems lovely, with a 7200 rpm HD, 2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M graphics with Optimus, 8GB of ram .. unfortunately with all that it and a 3 yr warranty it comes to almost 1.5 k... (warranty is about 150), so about 1.3 ish without warranty. about 400 over budget lol .. pretty much everything ill need though! I was also looking at the inspiron 14Z - it has the intel 3000 graphics and only 4gb of ram and only a 5400rpm HDD - but its 978, so within my budget!

rotex is mighty expensive though Their slightly lighter than the boschgex150T which i use, but a whole ton more expensive! as long as your machine wasn't previously used for wood though as previously mentioned -
that sounds great! In that case I should be able to get something similar (same size, i5, etc) with maybe a faster HDD n graphics card for 900 !
-
oops - i was mainly considering HP or Acer lol I dont think I could afford a mac :\ with the budget at about 900 ish? I'm too old fashioned anyway Don't think I could afford a SSD At that price range either :\ I'll settle for the highest speed hard drive I can find More importantly though it seems I should probably find something in the middle ranges of the i5's that whatever company I end up with make? I forgot about dell!! From what I've seen they seem to be quite good value for money. - not quite the most important thing but I think they look pretty nice lol <br class="Apple-interchange-newline">

thanks for that mate, cleared up most of my questions! Unfortunately most laptops will not be the best for gaming as I have previously experienced, but for now I can't afford a brand new PC Thanks for your help everyone! I think I have a rough idea of what to look out for now

Hi Brendan, Their ROTA-Force - copies of the advan RS wheels haha and thank you -
thanks for the opinions everyone, I wish I could get a proper PC for gaming etc- im still using a dual core with 4gb of ram but I cant afford both a laptop and PC atm and a laptops more important right now, since I have my PS3 for most games. I've yet to own a mac, I used them once in computer classes back in highschool, but I couldn't figure out the controls etc at all, and I'm quite slow to learn .. so i'll probably stick to windows for now I had a good acer laptop for 3 years before these netbooks, worked well while it lasted, and their laptops seem to be good value for money, and i've known a few people with HP's that have lasted for quite some time and worked well. My budgets around 900 - 1000, if I can't afford a local one I'm going overseas to Asia soon - I've gotten laptops cheaper there before , plus the currency helps out nicely, but ive seen i5s with 4GB of ram go for like 600-700 here (acer and hp - toshiba seems to be more pricey) I think I'll just look for the best i5 with a faster hard drive and pump up the ram to 8gb? Does anyone know what the numbers after the i5 mean? I've seen like i5 4500 and stuff like that - it baffles me - I assume higher number = better? Oh and what kind of specs should I be looking for with the graphics card? Cheers again!
-
Hey everyone, Im useless with technology, so far ive owned 2 different netbooks, both have given me the shits since their well near unusable! Lag like mad, even using MS word .. very nice to carry overseas though lol. I need a laptop that will be more than fast enough to run the basics, and a little bit of gaming - nothing hardcore but a decent range of games would be nice. Ive been seeing some i5 systems with 4gb of ram go for pretty cheap lately, and thinking of getting that and adding more ram to a total of 8gb. But then I've been reading what other people are using, and it seems like there's more than one type of i5 and i7 etc? I'm baffled - anybody got any suggestions as to what I need? So far I'm leaning towards HP and Acer, they seem to be good value for money and I know others who have owned these for sometime and they have been reliable for long periods of time - unlike my netbooks reliability is probably the key aspect of what I need, and good enough to play some games would be nice Cheers!
-
Ohhh!! I did not know that was what it was for lol! Fail. Thanks for the tip everyone now I can finally get back to playing. heheh I've neglected to work on blacksmithing etc, I was worried upgrading skills that arent combat related would leave me with far stronger monsters in the wild. I'm a redguard with 1h and shield btw I made a wood elf with a bow before, but im quite useless at the whole long range thing, i like to cut things ..
-
the quests are all so far apart, im still in the first major town - whitesomethingorrather, all the side quests (which i always do) are so far apart I end up losing the heart to play thinking about all that time wandering about with not much to do - god im lazy.

LOL. slightly embarassing btw you left your apple behind! hope you're happy with the result! -
hey buddy, i source all my stuff from final inspection and waxit.com.au their both great. FI generally only sells FI products these days it seems their slowly phasing out alot of stuff they used to use other brands for, unfortunately they have yet to replace alot of these with their own products waxit has great stuff though
-
Depending on what else you're planning to change, I would probably just get the east bear rear bar?
-
I use the final inspection CAP range of polishes with a bosch gex 150T and Final Inspection HD Pads - just another option for everyone to consider
-
K-mart tyre n auto does a free inspection, some of them can be quite fussy and give you crap if its pre purchase, but most of them have been quite happy to check mine out for me. I'm not entirely too sure if its as thorough as something like RAC's check, but its free! good luck
-
A clay bar does remove some but not as much as you think! I like to make sure its all of. By using gpc or something similar the old wax will definitely be removed and its only a 5 minute job anyway.
-
oh btw if you dont want to buy stuff from places like waxit or final inspection, my favourite of the shelf brand is autoglym, and meguiars and mothers make decent stuff too. dont go turtlewax or armourall!
-
i dont see how a liquid claybar would work mate, a claybar is meant to pick up surface contaminants and remove them by making them stick to the clay bar. i believe the liquid one is a turtlewax product? they generally make quick and easy to use products that just wont give as good results. stick to the well proven normal stuff mate and good luck!
-
that sounds basically good to me to build on it 1. wash 2. wipe down with degreaser (FI GPC or Xenit) to remove old wax 3. rinse off 4. clay bar 5. wash 6. cutting compound 7. wash 8. wipe down with cleanser 9. seal or wax just a few minor steps here and there to add on your process that will help it a bit more
