Mini Clear Out Stuff.
BASHO replied to BASHO's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Comes as pictured with the adapter plate which is good for RB35DET systems it certailly fits a NEO and I think most of the Nissan Turbo systems have a similar size BOV set up, I'm sure someone will hoy in if I'm wrong, the adapter plate is removeable by slackening a tiny grub screw and then just unscrewing the base off , there's adapters for just about any set up available from GFB. -
Took out my in cabin filters $260.00 WTF.---for those--bullshit. Went to Autobarn and a very helpfull person found for me a pair of Ryco that looked like an easy fettle. Shaved of the raised channel of on one side and shaved 2mm of the other press fitted with a 5mm gap at one end, easy fix , 10mm cloth tape strip . Flat concertina panel rather than the raised oe concertina OE looks different but flows just as well . Part No is (RYCO) --RCA107P cost $29.99 . This is not a perfect mod but it does the job and is $230.00 cheaper, if you're realy concerned change em twice a year, you'll still be 200 bucks in front. Oh --R34GT-T don't know about others.

Just watching, when the use of unatended unmarked vehicles commenced a short while ago the goal posts got moved, measures must now be considered.

Pedders Coilover Extreme Kits
BASHO replied to Jap_Muscle's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I put Pedders extreme coilovers on a WRX about 6 years ago when they were doing a special deal campaign in conjunction with Fast Fours and got the set for about $1650.00 inc fitting. I particularly recall this excercise as true to the adds I got the deal done.-----------BUT------------------- The suspension shop in Coffs (a Pedders Agent) who fitted them made such a shitty job of the install I had to take the car back to them to be fixed and they chargrd me another $380.00 to set the things up again. I was a lot more naive then and paid, these days I would have just shot them. As to the actual coilovers I recall they were a little on the hard side , good for track certainly but a bit tough for street and there was no damper adjustment, I saw the car about 15 months after I'd sold it and it had put on an obviously hard 40.000ks and the coilovers still appeared good. Buy them again--?-- not without damper adjustment if I was going to use them on the street. -

I do all the work on my car alone and fill my gearbox from inside the engine bay with the aid of a funnel with a plastic tube extension , just jack up the filler hole side of the car , jack stand in , out with the filler plug first then the drain plug , oil into drain pan , out with jack stand , lower car , make sure oil drain is still over drain pan , leave for a half hour , jack up car again , in with jack stand , remove drained oil pan , put back in drain plug , tighten , back up top , wedge funnel into suitsble spot in engine bay with attached tube dangling , back under car , grab dangling tube shove in gearbox fill hole , make sure its wedged in , put drain pan back under fill hole just in case of a slip up , back up top fill up gearbox via funnel. USE THE CORRECT MEASURED AMOUNT OF OIL AND YOU WONT OVERFILL . All oil in OK , pull out funnel and hose wipe up few bits of oil you will inevitably get splashed around, back under car , in with fill plug , tighten , out with drain pan , wipe everything clean , out with jack stand , lower car, job done , have drink.

To be quite honest and at a quick glance I'm not sure, there's a sensor to the right of and just behind the oil filter however I don't know whether that is the dash oil sensor light only or the oil pressure gauge and the dash warning light as well.

Gavin Woods, Autotech, 5529 2313 . Gibbs St . Labrador, not sure of the St No, these guys know the stuff.when it comes to Skylines (and REXs and performance)
-
$250 ? Fark me that seems to be Nissans bottom line for everything over 50 bucks, nah call it--well erm--yer $250 two poxy inernal air filters --$260-- O2 sensor eeerrr--yup $260'll be about right. If you take it to any decent workshop they should be able to run an acurate pressure gauge out of the sensor hole for not to much moolah andd they could clean the sensor for you before they put it back in or get a live feed gauge from Supercheap or whoever take out the sensor and hook it up to the sender hole yourself --and give the sensor a rub a dub before you put it back , then flEBay the gauge when you've done.

R34GT-T gearbox 4.1 ltr. Try Castrol VMX 80 if you want to use a good non syn or for syn - Castrol Syntrans 75X90 not Syntrax I think you may find that Syntrax is a hypoid (not 100%sure on that though.) anyway Syntrans is the one.
-
I'm putting 4.2lt in mine and thats over the full mark on the dipstick by about 5mm after leaving the engine stopped for about 5 minutes after running, I would imagine if I checked the oil immediatly after I stopped the engine I may squeeze a couple of hundred mill more in and maybe on the full mark but thats a big maybe . Does the R34GT-T take a bit less oil than the R33s ? Just noticed on the Nissan 7.5x30w oil Nissan spec the change period at 3 months.
-
I've used Castrol SAF-XA 80-90 for the rear diff , if you have a look in the stickys in maintenance or do a search you will find plenty of info on diff oils.

Anyone Using Bosch Platinum Sparkies In 2010?
BASHO replied to KrazyKong's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Running stock everything except springs (kings ) which came with the car (I put on all new OE shocks), exhaust, 3" dump, 3"High flow cat, 3.5" Jap mid section & mid muffler and 3.5" oval Varex rear muffler. The wheels I changed from stock to 17x8 Enkei RPO3s with Nexen rubber. After all that phew-whatever stock boost is, I think it's around a half bar at around 4000rpm. If a WRX does let go --it gets beyond interesting-- ah hem -
What a fatuous wanker you are without a shade of wit or humour the only thing remarkable is your pompousity and over inflated ego. Its unfortune that SAU dosen't also have a filter to rid us of nasty little elitist braggers like you. I'm out of this thread , like you it's a time waster..
-
I recently read a post on SAU where someone had the steering column covers orf and they found the switch taped up underneath, I immediatly checked mine==nothing however there are a number of vacant sockets under there any of which could be the one, WTF would know --?

I only wrote I was of a mind to fit the BOV , now I realise that women will likely notice me I almost deffinately will fit it. As for the tips on how you induce the 'whoosh' thank you , I didn't know that. Now , if I only lived in a place small enough to have a 'main street'. As for the pedestrians children prams et al , I'll leave them to be cleaned up by all the idiots with 300ksatw in a street car two thirds of the way to being vintage. Built as a track car on the street , what a heap of horseshit .

BASHO replied to KrazyKong's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Wow so different it's hard to say, the WRX is a point and shoot car, great fun, quick and with very few mods even quicker , the stickability of the car is almost sinfull , I've had two, both MY00's and if I could afford to run two cars I'd have another. Subaru Gold Coast are good to deal with Subaru Coffs Harbour not so much, so I guess dealerships are luck of the draw. The GT-T is just so fine to drive, you have to think what you're doing when you're driving it and it corners like a champion , I realy think it is much more of a drivers car than the WRX , it's fun to turn the traction control off and push it a little , I have no real desire to up the power on the car it's got enough for an every day driver , well for me anyway, though I was reading the sticky this morning about the boost wire mod that interests me-------- Gold Coast Nissan have turned out to be champions to deal with--after a rocky start--my fault probably, I'm such a grumpy old bastard. All in all I like the R34 GTT best of the pair--its a real car. -
Aaaahh another genius
-
I just love arrogant wankers like you that crawl out of the dunny everytime one of these threads comes up , you invariably post a heap of oppinionated bile that's a delight to respond to. The question is simple--the abuse unneccesary-- the oppinions unwanted-- and the suppositions beyond incorrect. Mind you I have to bear in mind that all this is all that from an idiot that thinks there is any possible justification in having a 300kwatw rebuilt heap of old crap on the road atall. The real and actual reason behind the authoritys incessant harassment of import and performance vehicles is excesive uppowering of street driven vehicles , making a cross for all to bear. I know there are lots of BOV threads I just thought I'd start a fresh on to see what crawled out of the woodwork--and there you were plonker in hand. Good luck with thew rebuild though , --don't forget the brakes.

I have recently aquired a second hand aftermarket GFB stealth bov and when the new seals are arrive and are fitted I am of a mind to fit it to my R34 GT-T which goes just fine with the stocky . I like the psst noise , there is no other reason for fitting this. I have read that not all Skylines are happy with aftermarket bovs as they can cause fueling issues and am reasoning for the stealth to do what I want it will have approx 85% plumback which should not cause issues--or will it ? Anyone running one of these or an aftermarket jobby that would care to comment - or any comments realy ?
