I can't get the "Quote" do da to work guys so anyhoo---Random expenses' just to clarify , I was looking at purchasing an 03/04 350GT model and the random expenses/part failures I was advised of were high risk but not limited to are , door locks , door window motors/regulators/ air conditioning / gearbox 's (auto) , some suspension bushes , wheel bearings . further I would also need to factor in some cost for the Jap to English information panel thingo conversion , likely a new head unit and satnav (if the satnav can actually be changed--I'm not sure) and the conversion of the control button set to English ones. Anyhoo, lets get real , the model I was thinking of purchasing would after all be over 10 years old and probably a largely unknown service history and things like suspension bushes and time sensitive components have to really be considered service items so just do em' , but the rest put the car into a , reluctantly , not for me zone , and I doubt I can afford one of the later models , which although I told are not without sin I am also told are much less misbehaviour prone. I should note perhaps also that I currently live in Hervey Bay and have extremely strong misgivings about being able to get anything more complicated than a puncture fixed locally

I'd been 90% committed to buying an 83/84 350GT in Jan until I spoke to someone today who has a large and detailed knowledge of these cars , I'm now looking at going back to the future and getting into another R34GT-t , on one hand of things I'm somewhat relieved to perhaps have avoided a potential financial tsunami on the other a tad disappointed to miss driving/owning such a nice looking vehicle. I'm just not in the financial position to take a consecutive succession of between $1 and $3K+ hits which I have been advised can occur with some of these vehicles. I too was puzzled over the large price variation in seemingly extremely similar models , and outside of obvious reasons I am , well , still puzzled .

Looking At Buying V36 350Gt Type Sp---But--
BASHO replied to BASHO's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I don't think I'll go the import route on this there seem to be a healthy amount of nicely presented ones for sale onshore already , I'll keep an eye on Iron Chef though , I'm aware of their good rep , never know he may end up sat on one ---. I'm anticipating a bit of a bun fight finding one anyhoo , as I mentioned before I'm in Hervey Bay for a while and the chance of one turning up here are, optimistically , remote , I'm 3 hours or so drive from Brisbane and a healthy 4 from the GC , neither of which seems to be overflowing with tasty stuff, seems to be long klm and primo prices are the Qld norm .I'm thinking it may be better to take a break for a week or so come Jan and head for in Sydney to have a looksee there . -
Looking At Buying V36 350Gt Type Sp---But--
BASHO replied to BASHO's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks for the replies guys , I'm a mine of indecision over auto/manual but it definitely won't be the 4 door , didn't realise the V36 was a four door only--idiot , read the specs but----doors-- it's got doors ?, cost will dictate to some degree what model I go for and of course there's the never ending real klm issue--nothing new there--unfortunately , saymo saymo with the R34GT-t and the 180sx-x before it . Anyone got any comment on RITE PRICE AUTO IMPORTS by any chance ?? -

No idea , new animals to me , I've been looking further and am now trending towards the earlier 03/04 350GT 2 door but I'm not quite familiar with the model range as yet. I found a faults thread then couldn't open the damn thing .--wouldn't have a link to a 'what to look out for 'thread by any chance ??? -
What Should I Price My V35 At?
BASHO replied to D2K77's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Have you thought of putting this on Fleebay ? I'm not sure of the cost , it's % of sale thing and it ain't much , used to be a place for crappy not worth the listing price beaters but since carsales got cheeky with their prices and the pic link sizes are shit fleebay has some surprisingly good vehicles on the site. Just a thought--- If you've still got it late Dec I'd be a goer for it and the Qld reg would suite me just fine as that's where I'm stuck for the foreseeable future -
:turned:Like the title --I'm looking at buying a V36 350GT type SP --but--- I've been reading the trials and tribulations of owners in the "Firmware update" thread and don't want to go near anything that is going to mean an ongoing shit fight with tit faced dealerships ,- however I'm an optimist by nature and would like to think that problems with this car are expeditiously solvable , - in spite of initial evidence that they're just another potentially more work than fun frak up. I've already owned a 180SX-X and an R34GT-t, both imports, and found Nissan to be well helpful , is the V36 the exception to my previously good experience with Nissan ? I live in Hervey Bay currently and have misgivings about what local expertise may be here with Nissan ,experience with both Mitsubishi and Suzuki dealerships in 'good ole" Hervey have been less than inspiring, I'm handy on the spanner but when it comes to electronics I'm useless it's the tuners or bust for me. So folks , how big a punt is one of these V36'iz ?

Not likely I'll change, my computer works fine on everything else except SAU and the only time I've gone for Firefox and Chrome I've had nothing but problems, I live in Hervey Bay at the moment and even basic shit is dicey. My loss , SAU 's loss. Cheers anyhoo -
I have limited access , I can post -- obviously , I can't cut and paste--anything from anywhere to the forum including within the forum , I can cut and paste from the forum to outside. . I can't update my profile , I get this message when I try--"[10218] one of the fields you filled in requires a specific format , but the value you supplied did not meet this format(website url) ." My emails to the forum administrator are returned as undeliverable. Can anyone help me fix this issue ? Cheers, -- Al.

I've left a couple of queries regarding A R34GTt Auto but got no replies and I'm wondering if anyone on here owns it or knows the car. I can't seem to upload the link , it's a 2001 R34GT-t Auto in Cashmere QLD, this is the Carsales item No -- SSE-AD-2546397 I've got 3 days left if I'm going to buy it this time round and I ain't buying unless I know it's full service status. I also can't seem to copy and paste --anything--whats the prob there ?????????????????
-
No bubble here FYI, I forgot to mention that I'm after 16x6.5 , 4/114.3 , +43 off set. possibly the most obtuse pos wheel I've ever tried to source aftermarket for. I'm buying 16x7 feathers offshore via Ebay for near $200 + frieght cheaper at my door than the nearest onshore quote. As for Enkei RPF1' s 16's --I 've been informed that they're no longer being imported in a 4x114.3 ----- FYI --Mods --I can't cut and paste in anything ----
-
Thanks for the replies guys , I'm off the Enkeis , the car these are bound for really doesn't warrant a large price tag on wheels or to much messing around with open ended time large deposits or bizare costs for centre caps ------$130.00 for 4 centrecaps wtf , Enkeis would have been nice but not a must have in this instance. I'm pretty sure from the replies concerning Autotechnik that these guys are all good and I am saying nothing negative about them , they have actually done me a favour as the deposit thingo caused me to look around at overseas stuff and I've found I can get Konig Feathers in the size & colour I want with all metal bolt up valves and including centre caps to my door for AUS$870.00 , they weigh in at 6.9 kg , I can also get Rota Circuit 8 's @ $985.00 again to my door , these weigh in at 7.03kg , either of these will do the job just nicely.
-
Firstly they're Enkei RPF1's , nobody gets stuck with Enkei's unless they're an absolutely off the wall size which these ain't . Second if I didn't cough they'd only be wearing the dif between the wholesale cost and the 20% deposit I'd consider fair , that's a real long way from retail. Third I'd pay cash for them straight up if they had the damn things in stock and I don't like being pronged for their lack of business acumen. Fourthly--never mind me not paying at least they'd have the wheels as an asset , what about if they go broke in the 'up to about 6 to 8 weeks' delivery And that's why I'm looking round to see if anyone else has dealt with these guys.
-
Has anyone had any dealings with Autotechnik Tuning ? I'm looking at ordering a set of Enkei's through Autotechnic Tuning at the cost about $1150.00 at my door and taking 6 to 8 weeks to arrive . Now heres the onion . I've been asked for a $500.00 deposit which seems a bit rich for something that's "about two months" till delivery, 20% fine , balance before dispatch , fine, --- nearly 50% deposit on something maybe 2 months away , not so much so. Autotechnik may have been around since before the flood and be as good as gold, I certainly don't know of anything crook about them. but that kind ask on a deposit in this instance sorta makes me uneasy.

I believe some unscrupulous scallywags may have considered this but I never would . aaaaaaaaaaaaah hem.

Thanks for the replies guys. I called customs this morning and they informed me it's the cost of the goods only , so under a grand nada over $1k + 5% customs add that to the cost of the goods , then add another 10%GST . So $1001 bucks +freight becomes +5%=$1050.50 +10%GST=$1155.55.+freight. The one thing I didn't ask is if the goods are over a grand does the freight stay in or out for calculating customs fee and GST . $999.00 + freight becomes $999.00.+freight
-
Thanks for that , yup , still a grand, it looks like it's just the value of the goods and doesn't include the courier fee , which is all good , I'm going to contact customs just to be sure , the wheels and freight come to $996 all up so I'm to close to the frakin line to make a mistake , I'll post if freight is included in the taxable cost.
-
I need a set of wheels that turns out to be a bit odd sized (16 x 6.5 , / 4/ 114.3 , / 38 to 43 off set ) and after searching around and being fed bullsit , extortionate prices and being fraked around by possibly the most ignorant section of the motoring industry for about a week I'm going offshore for them. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the dollar limit on imported parts is before import tax kicks in ? I think it used to be $1000.00 before tax kicked in but that was ages ago , also is it per item or is it on total of an order ? including freight or just the parts themselves ? The last stuff I rought in was a set of tuffdog adjustable shocks for my Jeep and they only came to about $650 all up . Any help or pointers/links would be really appreciated.
