that makes sense, i know the supply side of the pump (standard)holds pressure though cause when i disconected it just after that fuel tank cap once it spray out fuel everywhere. i guess if i cant find the banjo ill get a barb fitting. do these pumps always come supplied with the banjo fitting?
-
what does the standard pump have to keep pressure (stop fuel from running back to the tank) in the supply line when the pumps not operating?
-
cool thanks, i thaught it surved a higher purpose. I was abit confused cause ive seen some photos in other posts where it seems like the outlet hose just goes straight up (no banjo). Does the cap nut block off the hole at the top??(sorry just not to familiar with the banjo). does anyone have a pick of this setup?
-
hi guys, sorry if this has been covered to death but i couldnt find what i was looking for in the search. i just recieved my new 910 pump and noticed on the outlet side it has that fitting for a banjo conection (ie, holes around the side) and a hole on the top at the end of the threaded bit. i just wanted to know what was the pourpose of this fitting and weather or not i could replace it with a normal fitting that would resemble the intake side as it seems abit disfuncional to have a banjo fitting coming off at 90 degrees if im going to mount it in tank. i can see a little spring in the side holes which had me wondering if it was a check valve aswell??? thanks.

yeah i understand the engine rotates clockwize but wouldnt turning the centre of the pulley clockwize advance the cam timing not retard it???? im sure the centre of the cam goes counterclockwise to retard
-
LOL - I had to think about this too !! Standing in front of the car (looking at the front of the motor) the motor and cams turn in a clockwise direction. So what we need to do is give the exhaust cam a 'delay' of the 4 degrees. So the centre on the cam wheel is to be rotated clockwise. Or the outer rim of the cam gear is to be rotated anti clockwise. Both are the same thing really I hope that helps. J are you sure, dont mean to add confusion but i was positive it was the other way around??????
-
phew, excuse my ignorane but why do you have to rotate the engine to top dead centre?? also i think mine just slipped on cause i had it set on zero and adjusted it to 4deg once it was on (afrew light taps with a hammer and wooden drift).
-
when i put mine in i just slipped the old one off then slipped the new one on in the same spot as the old one came off (put a mark on the timing belt and old pully then translated the mark to the new pulley and lined it up), im worried is this wrong/bad??? the car seems to be running great

Does anyone know if the prices on parts from greenline are all inclusive, or do we have to pay duty if they get pulled up at customs? is customs suposed to be taken care of by them in WA before it gets to us? The reason i ask is some of my parts from them are being held at customs, and once i pay duty it seems theres not really much of a saving to be had, ontop of the usual long wait. Has anyone else had a similar experiance where they ended up having to pay duty on parts ordered from greenline or similar companys?? thanks.

hi guys, pulled my fuel pump out today and it looked really big compared to the ones i had seen in other pics on the forum, it had the following info stamped on it: jecs, a42-t22, and the nissan sign followed by 002 3415. is this the Pn. for the standard pump?? and how do you tell a gtst pump apart from a gtr pump?

ive tried car audio places and wreckers, the car audio places dont seem to have anything and the wreckers wanna try to sell me the whole assy electric motor and all, come on guys im despirate here someone must know of a place in syd that sells just the mast without the price of going genuine, it seems like such a simple part. am i the only person out there breaking these things??
-
well it happened again i backed out of my garage and bent my aerial mast wen it got snagged on the garage door, does anyone know where to get cheap replacements from?? last time i got one from nissan and it cost me 100 bucks and i dont really want to do that again, i think the mast they gave me last time was off a patrol. please please help as like most people ide rather spend the money on something else but having no radio is really anoying. thanks:)

thanks for all ur help guys, i guess ill just have to try some different oil and keep double clutchin till the problem gets to bad or i can afford to get the sincros replaced/box recoed.
-
also can i adjust my clutch/would this help and if so how do i do it? sorry about all the questions but this crunch is driving me mad and makes me feel like a bit of a goose when it happends.
-
thanks guys ill give the redline stuff a try, also i took the car for a spin tonight and it didnt seem that bad at first but the more i thrashed the car around the worse the crunch (the problem is only when shifting into 4th up or down, ocasionally 5th) became. In the end even in low revs it still gave a little crunch. i eventually out of despiration decided to double clutch it into 4th and whala the problem was solved changes were smooth again. Does this still mean the problem is with the sincro's or is it a clutch problem??
-
When shifting at high revs (above 5500) into 4th my gearbox goes into gear ok but gives out a crunching noise reguardless of how quick/slow i try to shift does it in 5th a little aswell. if im driving around normally the box is smooth as. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it is? My gearbox also has a faint whinning noise when in neutral that goes away when i push the clutch in. thanks:(

hi guys, i have heard when you run more than 10 psi the stock ecu richens fuel and retards timing, i noticed this as a major flat spot on my gtst between 4500rpm to 5500 rpm. alot of people say a s-afc will cure this flat spot. I was just wondering if i ran the s-afc would the stock ecu still over retard the timing, isthe timing problem going to be that noticeable/much of an issue to be worth doing something about ie. itc?? considering my r33 is pretty stock just pod filter, turbo back 3" exaust, plugs gapped .75 and i wanna run10-12psi Any info would be greatly apreciated thanks:burnout:
