  1. The overheating problems that everybody talks about with the 300zx's is only because of people that don't maintain there car, the Z isn't any worse than any other unmaintained car out there.

People remember imports are not new cars generally & the japanese don't always maintain them like they should. I know of 3 TT 300zx's around my area that haven't had any overheating problems because they get the correct servicing!

  2. std auto 300zx would be my bet! they also the fastest for the least amount of money spent. Mates z dropped like 1/2 a second over the 1/4 just from hks pod filter, I think it may have made a little more boost with the filter as well? cat back exhaust, filter & 14psi it ran 12.8@104mph @ willowbank which is a damn site faster than any similar modded line or 200.

  3. Avgas will coat your O2 sensors as well as block up your cat convertor! I Always run Optimax or Ultimate with Wynns race formula or Nulon prostrength when iwind the boost up on the Sx as insurance against pinging. I would have thought that ALL Jap imports would benefit greatly from 98 fuel & a good octane booster as there tuning is designed for 100. My Mates 300zx improved considerably from 98 & NF blackoctane booster as he could put another couple of degrees timing into it. He Run 13.2 then with timing dropped to 12.8.

  4. I'm rating 1 & 27yo but gf is rating 2 & 24yo. IMO Suncorp are thieves they charge you more if you want to pay monthly something CGU do not, plus because its thru Wesfarmers Dalgety, Wesfarmers pay my insurance for me then invoice me for it so i Can't forget to pay it, plus the extra 30days you get to pay for it!

These people genuinely show you they want your business by actually looking after you.

  5. If you were doing it on a budget maybe someone like japanese motorsports would be able to supply you with a turbo, manifold & external wastegate setup for reasonable money. A modified std ecu would maybe be a cheaper option that i'm sure would still do everything you would want. Around 230rwkw's would surely get you into the high 11sec or low 12 sec bracket with slicks?

Maybe need to lighten the car up abit? I know of a 1600kg 300zx with 225rwkw's that has run 12.56 with a 2.0sec 60ft so with decent slicks a low 12 should be no problem for him.

The silvia would weigh maybe 1300kg?

Based on every 45kg worth a tenth theres a high 11 for the sil80 with a 2.0 60ft which should be a walk in the park with slicks.

  6. aus delivered! no free windscreen! But if nissan oz bring in car they also bring in all the spare parts & thats what insurance companies would be probably thinking!
