  1. An exemption is the first thing I'm going to try for, but the government website about the new laws that I checked out made it sound as if you needed your Ps before the date AND had to own the car. I might ring up somewhere and ask them if I'm going to be exempt because I bought the car months before.
  2. ya but i wasn't asking how to do it i was just asking if there were any particular things i needed to change when removing the turbo. i might just do what you said, keep it and work on it for a couple years, at least when i get my fulls i'll have a really nice car. and i'll just buy some cheap car in the meantime for a daily.
  3. ah touche I was afraid that might be the case. How much roughly for a RB20DE? Edit: and by the way, I have a personal loan for the car that is far from paid off, and I owe more on that than the cars worth, hence the reason I haven't just sold it and moved on. I'd rather keep it and just keep paying the loan every week, then at least by the end of it I'll still have a car to show for it, not a 4k loss lol. I bought the car turbo and with the intention of driving it turbo, why would I buy a turbo car originally and intend to convert it to NA straight away?
  4. Hey everyone. I've got a 32 gts-t that I bought several months ago, but I don't actually have my licence yet, I'm on my Learners (have been for a while - laziness) and haven't got around to getting my Ps yet because I haven't been working. Now with the new laws that are coming in, I'm not going to be able to drive my car until I'm on my full licence, as I can't get my Ps in time before September 4, the date the laws are in effect from. My basic, rough plan is to remove the turbo on the RB20 and just drive it N/A for a couple of years, and spend that time working on the body/suspension/brakes etc, and once I was on my full licence either look at putting the turbo back on or upgrading to a different motor. And yes I know it won't be fun driving an N/A 2L for 2 years. 1. Is this even a good idea or is it going to be a whole lot harder than I think? 2. What in particular do I need to change (turbo removal obviously, but manifolds, AFM, tune, exhaust (it has a 3" turbo back at the moment), throttle body?) 3. Are there any other factors I'm not aware of that will need addressing? I don't particularly mind the stupidity of removing the turbo and then putting it back on again 2 years later, or if I lose a little bit of money, I just want to drive my car. Cheers guys
