I was home sick from memory on the date you mention, had a really nice gastro bug happening so left Tuggerah early and drove back to Kings Langley to get some drugs from the chemist. Chances are i didn't spot you, though I remember someone smiling at me lol I'm just anti-social in my old age so it's lucky I didn't run you over eh Now now, that was completely called for.... d'oh! love ya work matey.

This is one thing I have been hanging for, what price we talking though? Mind you it is cool to bring up the screen with a newbie passenger so they go oooooh it's japanese! lol
-
You will be even more excited once you get one and drive it lots. I'm now commuting (have been for over 6 months now) 100km's a day to work and home and I just love the M35. It's a bit bent due to a p-plater running into me and then taking off... not to mention the c*@t who key scratched my drivers door. I'm still dreaming of a bare metal respray and new kit but that will be a long way down the track.... for now i'm dreaming of mods I could not recommend another wagon of any make or model for the price I got my Stagea for, it has been truely awesome!

LOL you get a special on import monster or something? I must admit Craig's looked pretty awesome with the stripes, but I'm sure they don't make it go any faster
-
Ahem... how did you know I would find this and bite? Sorry havn't been on for ages guys, work has been flat out and the commuting is killing me. Just glad I'm in the Stagea and not shittyrail Have 2nd week of feb off so all going to plan I am finally getting to SAS for the remap and then it's time to start planning the turbo upgrade etc. I'm not getting anywhere near the same money in the new job as I was with the government which is a major bummer! BTW Craig, love the Nismo decals

OK guys, huge apologies.. all i can say is: working = not enough spare time! + p platers in commodore's who can't drive and crash into other cars then refuse to pull over and exchange details suck! (don't worry, the licence plate is burnt into my memory!) Tax cheque has arrived and I have been in touch with SAS, the car is going in with the spare ECU for a week hopefully at the end of November. I'm opting for the dual map option but until they do the testing and development they are not sure this is a possibility, will update on this one. I have one small concern with my nismo muffler that I'm hoping SAS can work with, I think it's locked in Silent mode and not sports When I flick the switch in the cabin and sound is no different, runs fairly quiet most of the time (i believe Goldzilla said it sounded like a vaccum cleaner lol). I'm guessing when the car was complied they just set the switch to silent and then disconnected/severed the cable or something. I think it may be restricting flow of the exhaust but my first tune will mainly be about fuel efficiency anyway, I'll worry about performance once the GCG highflow/intercooler and new turbo back exhaust is completed. Once again sorry for my silence, I've been popping in now and again as I like to watch Chow dudes

Spotted a few M35's out and about the past few weeks, mainly on the F3. ARX rego A*X25T, I think it was a white one, looked fairly stock from the outside. Friday evening just gone a Gold coloured ARX rego UF ### didn't get the numbers, we tagged each other all the way from Kariong servo to Berorwa exit, where he departed. Gave a honky honk and he waved out his window.

That may have been benny?!

Newcastle Stagea Cruise - Saturday 10th Of October, 2009
Bis-e Bee replied to fat-lad's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Sounds good, I'll keep my eyes on the thread. If we do it on a Saturday we should book out Formula 1 at Wallsend and get out for a few bevies Saturday night and drive home Sunday sometime. -
Get some more information and let us know I could be potentially interested in the next few months as I near my high-flow operation

I have emailed Tom at SAS, I havn't heard anything back yet. They do dual map other vehicles so it will be something worth investigating when they test & develop.
-
Ok doods, the spare ECU has been tested and appears to operate to requirement, I wanted to ensure this was the case prior to dropping everything off to SAS and finding out the spare was dodgy or damaged in some way. Another thanks to Ken at Prestige Motorsport, what a legend I took some photo's of the equipment behind the glovebox and kick panel for those who havn't had a look yet, note however that when you remove the glovebox don't forget the screw on the bottom left hand side. You need to remove the left kick panel, just insert a screwdriver and lever it off, it's got two clips that lock in and just a plastic nut holding the back end on. I'm not sure if I did it or if it had been done previously but the bottom left hand corner of my glovebox is now cracked, will have to fix it with some glue when the glovebox comes out next for it's trip to SAS. I kind of didn't find the concealed left hand bottom corner screw until I had done all the other one's and had begun gently trying to lever the glovebox out. Thought I would warn other's incase they can save this damage to the glovebox. Anyway, I'll chuck the pictures up for anyone who is interested. I also emailed SAS yesterday and have brought up the topic of the possibility of a switchable dual mapping, this probably can't be explored until the car goes in but I will be sure to pursue the matter. Thanks to Iain for his phone support in getting the glovebox out and the ecu unplugged etc. I owe you another double shot macchiato.

I hope to test the spare ECU this weekend and ensure nothing undesirable happened to it in Japan or on it's return journey to QLD and then postage to me I was already contemplating the multiple map idea, mainly as you guys said maybe just two maps one for economy and one for ball breaking power thrusting fuel chewing performance I don't know if it's possible but I will bring the subject up on next discussion, would obviously cost more as more dyno time would be involved and probably more involved on the ECU programming side of things. Might be something they need more time to work on, if so my first remap will just be economy vs power on the current configuration. It will be back in further down the track for another remap once all the main performance work has been completed. Would be nice to have an economy option, especially for times like having your cars serviced so the grease monkey's don't go hooning around having a drift championship in your stag

Must people seem to stick with the ball bearing cores when high-flowing, as some have the opinion that moving from ball bearing to bush bearing is a downgrade even if it is high-flowed. I'd be interested to hear how you find the bush bearing though, just make sure you take good care of it and use a turbo timer or give it a few minutes to idle before turning the engine off etc. Once I get the ecu remap out of the way and know they can tune the M35 I'll be sending a turbo off to GCG for a ball bearing high-flow. (can't wait!)

Spotted Wednesday afternoon (I think) a bronze coloured A-RX in Tuggerah Business Park, was leaving Energy Australia House. Didn't see who was driving as I was walking towards the car but it went the other direction.
-
Under $1000? maybe for me LOL I think they will need to buy the ECU from me so that will take $440 off the price of my remap I think it's going to typically be between $1200 - $1400 but subsequent visits for retunes/remap will be at a reduced rate. Once again these are only ball park figures and cover the dyno run tuning etc, they have never remapped an M35 so that's why I can't provide firm pricing at this point in time. I'm keen to be the guinea pig though so let's get the show on the road I've got to hook the spare ECU up to my M35 to ensure it is functioning, then I wouldn't mind testing it in Ian's M35 too just to ensure there are no problems with the spare. Once that is confirmed and there are no hassles I can start working out when I can get it in so they can start.
-
That's could just be the Nissan factory tunes getting worse and worse! Most people I've spoken to who have been dynoing Nissan vehicles (including imports) have said most of the models just run way too rich, they mainly put it down to bad tuning. Who know's, maybe the fuel companies have a handshake agreement with Nissan

Just a little update.. I spoke with Tom from SAS yesterday and he explained the process a little more, they will need my car and the spare ecu for 2 days so I will hopefully arrange this in the next few weeks. The spare ECU will have a chip soldered onto the existing board, this ECU will be used for the real-time tuning on the dyno. Once they have reached the optimum tune or whatever I request (i.e. best fuel effeciency vs. power output), they then do a chip and solder it in to the ECU that is currently fitted to my car. When the next M35 rolls in for a remap they restart the process, in with the spare ECU (the one I have atm) real-time dyno tune etc. It is done this way to avoid damage to the vehicles ECU, I don't have firm pricing and probably won't until they have remapped my car as they have never done an M35. Once they have however I will get the first visit estimate and subsequent visits for further remapping after mod's etc. Sorry it's taking so long guys, working Monday to Friday is a drag lol

Very Cheap Stagea For Auction
Bis-e Bee replied to darrinspencer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
No fanx, but if you have some spare parts you could talk to Iain -
You have to love the Ridgeway, I don't think i've taken the Stagea along that way yet but I used to work my motorbikes pretty hard through there. Suzuki GSF250 Bandit, Suzuki SV650S loved the road, I havn't put the Suzuki GSX750F through there yet now I think about it. The road is starting to deteroriate so it's nowhere near as good as it was a few years back.

Awesum ride man, I think I might need to trade in the M35 Does the Bunnings umbrella come with the purchase of the vehicle? -
I think Danny still has the busted turbo that came off his car, get him to measure that one

Woo hoo! I just gave Nick the application and cash last night, what a beauty! I didn't even realise GCG were on the SAU discount list! yipeee! you just made my day danny boi I nearly am Hopefully get my goodies posted over the next week or so. You let your membership lapse? Shame on you!!

$1760?? bastards, lol, they quoted me $1955.00, maybe yours was slightly downgraded from what I'm going for?! *Quoted from one of my many email's to GCG* "Whilst the unit is apart, all parts are replaced with new parts, such as the ball bearings and the seals. GCG also fit a larger compressor wheel, and machine the compressor housing to suit. A full gasket kit is also inlcuded in the upgrade. Once the unit is modified, there are NO further modifications required for re-fitting. Another advantage is that all factory heat shielding can be re-used, and the unit looks factory. The price to do this upgrade is $1955.00 Including GST." Either that or the econmic crisis *wank wank* has brought their pricing down, I want you to take me for a spin when it's fitted man! I want to see what the money gets you before I invest in the next month or so.

+1 on pics! As for cost, it was GCG Turbo's so it should have been as per the quote I put in a thread here a few weeks back. From memory it's just a tad under $2k.
