M35 Dump Pipe - Making Up A Few
Bis-e Bee replied to Angus Smart's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Liverpool Exhaust can flood the market but I predict not many people will buy their piece of sh!te. especially Andy lol None of us work for Charlestone, but it's run by a top bloke and he has a good name on a variety of car forums etc. Craig has had several cars fitted out by them. It's at Blacktown yes. The factory turbo is bb, it doesn't look like a good choice to go bush (check the turbo thread if you havn't already). I don't have a price on the full system yet, I'll wait until the dump pipe is ready to be produced and then I will get a price on the dump and the rest of the system. I'm hoping to keep my Nismo muffler and pipe (cat back) but I will have to see how the airflow goes. -

Charlestone Exhaust will mainly be a supply and fit, will be good for those who want to go for a new turbo back exhaust system in 3" I can tell you fitting the dump pipe yourself is fairly fiddly and a pain in the ass, Craig did his in 2 1/2 hours. I'll get mine fitted at the same time a new high-flowed turbo goes in to make life easier, then it's off to Charlestone Exhaust for the remainder of the system to be fitted. -

LOL everyone is making them? not quiet, there are a few good exhaust joints, not everyone necessarily is close to the one you are using, everyone likes to be able to make choices I have hold of the stock dump pipe and Craig is going to pick it up from me later this afternoon. The 400-500 price sounds a little steep to me, if you are only referring to the small section of pipe or do you mean for the dump/front pipe all in one? -

I forgot to add that the one Charlestone Exhaust are working on is going go be a mild steel possibly sprayed black instead of a stainless steel (like the pics I posted up). None of us seen the point of doing it to be pretty when you barely see any of the dump pipe, plus it saves a bit of money on the cost to go towards other mods If anyone has had a turbo replaced in their M35 by any workshops in Sydney region can you let me know, I'm seeking a workshop to get an estimate from to fit a high-flow turbo and the new dump pipe. -

Err.. yep Mainly to get a comparison between what local supplier's can provide, also gives us a comparison on prices too. I'm going to get Charlestone Exhaust to do the whole exhaust once I've been high-flowed so it's worked out well. -

They were the main pictures I took, but it was pretty damn close if not spot on to the original length etc. of the stock dump pipe, we put them side by side and done a comparison. It didn't adjust jetwreck's exhaust angle at all. -

Jetwreck's dump pipe has now been fitted, everything went to plan and there were no major hassles (just a stubborn bolt that took a sh!tload of patience and a few swear words to get undone). Spoke to him after he had driven it for a little while and he stated that the spool up of the turbo was quicker than with the standard dump pipe (with cat removed). I took some photo's for you, nothing professional like zeil20l's Charlestone Exhaust are going to work on the jig's and get a price together for the higher flow dump pipes in the next few weeks, I'll get a call when it's all prepared and let you guy's know the price. -
Another disappointment, ECU has been checked and confirmed it belongs to a VQ25DD So the search for the correct ECU resumes, d'oh!.

I'm going to check it out tomorrow Hopefully Bruce will be able to make them up just as pretty for a nice price -
I was talking about the turbo mate Maybe the ceramic material cannot handle any more pressure than that, did you see what happened to jet's ceramic?
-
"Because the pressure in the atmosphere is no more than 1 atm (approximately 14.7 psi), there ultimately will be a limit to the pressure difference across the intake valves and thus the amount of airflow entering the combustion chamber." From wikipedia, maybe it has something to do with that.
-
Just to confirm the feedback above from pixel8r, this quote came from a rep at GCG Turbo's "All of these units come with a ceramic turbine wheel, that has a boost limitation of 14psi. Once this boost level is exceeded, the risk of losing the ceramic turbine wheel greatly increases." This we suspect may be the reason that Jetwreck's turbo kicked the bucket, his was exceeding the 14psi mark and eventually the ceramic turbine broke. So you may wish to have yours checked out before you run the risk of losing the turbo, the cars are very difficult to drive without a working turbo (especially all the way back to Sydney from Philip Island lol).

Are you at it again, sheesh That t-shirt get's a lot use, no wonder it's got holes in it

But it does give you the extra push to go the whole hog and get a high-flow From what I've seen, the Aero is NOT put on FAST, my car has the factory aero kit and FAST does not mention it, I don't think Iain's (ziel20l) had anything on FAST in regards to his kit either. You driving in Automatic mode I assume? Try manual shifting, it's must more fun

May I wask, what is the peanut? Hmmmm seats are gross in public transport, I remember reading the lab test results from a few old train seats that were tested, you don't want to know what was on them. Or probably easier to say there was not much that wasn't on them :|

Bah Spoil sport!

Mine has Nismo S-Tune Suspension with the Aero Kit, the front of the aero kit has scrapped many times, especially on steep or long driveways. Also ripped the centre cover off @ Windsor, was a nice lump of asphalt in the middle of the road, should have heard the nice bang when I hit it I had it checked out and Unique Auto Sport said there was just a bit of scratching/missing paint underneath. Hornsby Nissan just fitted the other day the new improved centre cover with metal guard on the front of it, should last longer

M35 Stagea Yahoo Japan Links
Bis-e Bee replied to Angus Smart's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I'm not ready for the exhaust, I'll combine the turbo and exhaust all in one hit. I need to get the funds and then co-ordinate it. I believe they are going to see the dump pipe early next week so hopefully they will be able to whack something together and save me importing from Japan. I didn't get any estimates yet as they were waiting to see the dump pipe, I'll probably keep the muffler and just have the rest of the exhaust replaced. I'll have to try and get some flow specs on the muffler somehow. -

Looks like I may have tracked down an Australian Wrecker with an M35 Half-cut! Even better they look like they are willing to sell the ECU on it's own, but I'm not getting too excited as they think it's a VQ25DE engine. I wouldn't think they would import a half-cut of that variety as the VQ25DET is the only model allowed via import?! Hopefully I will find out tomorrow and then I can get excited. I've also requested that this wreckers send me some pics of the half-cut so I can post them up on the forum incase you guys are after any of the bits and pieces left on it. It's had a pretty major front on so I think the front will be dead but maybe some engine parts/dash etc will be good. Will post up piccies when they send them to me.

Turbo For Nm35.what Is It Called?
Bis-e Bee replied to mym35's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Woo hoo! Sounds good. If you havn't done anything with it by the time I ready for high-flow I may be calling on you I was thinking about what you said and I'm leaning towards the turbo out & in in one day, especially if I can line the exhaust up at the same time. Would be the easiest way, then it's off to SAS for a tune. I may have secured an ECU, just waiting to confirm they have a VQ25DET not a VQ25DE, considering it's an Australian wreckers I highly doubt they have a VQ25DE Stagea Half-Cut so it should be right.
