  1. I dunno about you bit I feel like a bit of a toolbox carrying a steering wheel around with me. If I had a briefcase that the wheel 'clips' into then ok. I'd give Revolution Racegear in Auburn a buzz. The only company I can think of who makes them is Bestex. T.
  2. Do they smoke any good? T.
  3. Some places in Syd. can supply a fiberglass flat boot. Just get it painted. T.
  4. Gosh... it's quite clear none of you guys have been on the other side of an insurance company policy. If you're guilty of speeding or running a red light, you are guilty of a civil offence or what the Americans would call a 'moving violation'. The insurance company will pay on those conditions. God knows I've gotta a few neg. driving fines to go with paying an excess. But if you're convicted of a criminal offense (ie. DUI, ignoring sirens, driving while in commission of a crime), the insurance company will not pay up. Nor will they pay up for any cars you hit along the way. T.
  5. The world is full of haters - the Skyline is the current darling of the police and media... a while back it was the WRX. Quite obviously this guy deserves all the bad press he's getting. T.
  6. Yeah it is Minh's cousin's place. We don't allow comments about companies here though. T.
  7. I have a set of rims you can borrow in Homebush. email is [email protected] Eric is the guy you're after at Bel Performance. T.
  8. One can fit in the stock position. One has to be body mounted + added cost of pipes/fittings to rail. T.
  9. The front section of Mac Centre is fine - it's well traffic'ed and they don't have the balls to steal there BUT DO NO PARK ANYWHERE ELSE. T.
  10. I haven't heard of a single complaint about Peter. Every experience I've had with them has been positive. They are a bit expensive for my car though. Being a Greddy dealer, you can expect where their preferences will lean. One thing I'll say is that in Sydney, we're a small community... many of us have done work at lots of places and we have impressions of each workshop. I know Brett has done some work with Bel and everyone has heard bad stories about particular companies. For some of the suspension work on my car, it went to a specialist. Moreso with stories like 'I'm with ABC tuning rather than XYZ due to a bad experience'. I know some people have some choice things to say about a place near UAS. At Bel I think some 'white folk' have a harder time there but from what I've seen, Ben, Eric, Brian are fine with everyone - they've done some inspection work ('PPI' - "pre-purchase inspection") on GT-Rs so there some trust there. That's the strange thing, they wandered into Skyline work... they used to be mainly Hondas and Subarus. I gotta admit the workshop is laid out like the places I've seen in Hong Kong so there's no culture shock for me - it's also comparable to many other places I've seen in Sydney. The rebuild work on my car is perhaps not a great guide as the internals were chosen by me and outsourced - an the thing still does single digit knock figures with a PowerFC. T.
  11. Juvenile sentencing laws. T.
  12. There's a reason for this... Automatic window winders are illegal. If they were to install it, they would be in contravention of some ADR. So if they're going to do the job with that risk, they'll charge accordingly. I have a fairly ok 3 point immobiliser on mine but my parking habits are pretty strict. T.
  13. Some companies just try everything to not take your money. They can survive with handouts from Today Tonite perhaps? T.
  14. I think what Sydneykid is trying to imply is that there's something wrong with your tune. T.
  15. There's a known bunch of 'felons' in the Macquarie area - they are known to break into imports for fun and to joyride them every so often. The police cannot stop them for quite obvious reasons. T.
  16. There's a Toronto near Newcastle. I personally wouldn't buy any wheel made by CSA or Simmons or Speedy or... you get my drift? T.
  17. It's like this... Does having a pretty wife pose problems? It's the yin and the yang. But life is short... you can't take you money with you. So you can choose to drive a Corolla or Camry or something that makes your heart skip a beat in the morning. T.
  18. Cops are probably the best. Everytime I see a cop car they all crane their necks for a sticky beak. I reckon they are totalling up the number of defects they can write out! Late pix here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost...=500&ppuser=596 T.
  19. Your Mustang shits on a 34 from a great height. The Weld? Cragar? rims are shit hot. I think ed here has a Nismo wing on his car - it's an big wing. Might be not to many peoples' taste. T.

  21. What are you buying? A 32? 33? Every scumbag and his dog has one. I drive a fairly plain looking one - used to be pretty sad with the full on bodykit but I'm over that shiat. The only very weird things I can remember are: - the neighbourhood kids standing outside my gate and staring in. I talked to them and they ask me jackshiat about "Stage 2" turbos and other crapola they heard from Gran Turismo. So I said 'hey dudes, it's FWD and it's a triple rotar'. - some people in a plain Commodore snapping pix of my car in a highway and at the lights. I thought it was a speed camera flash! This also happens at shopping centres too. WTFBBQ. - I had maybe half a dozen under 10 year olds point it out to their mothers at a carpark. Their mothers were not impressed esp. with the wonderful reputation the media has given our cars. I expect that this sort of thing will go into hyperdrive when I finally get that 34 and say a Porsche or Ferrari to go with it T.
  22. I've had heaps of different shops say bad things about Malpassi. One or two shops I can understand... but in reality... who cares? Regulators are a coupla hundred at best. Spend a little more on a good one. I'm using a Nismo/Apex unit and it looks like it's a OEM JECS/Unisia part. It cost less than a Malpassi. T.
