basically i want a relay or solenoid installed on my starter as the car has hot start issues
or someone who can install a reco starter or fix mine or whatever
haven't been able to find someone locally in parra
Thanks,
i don't know john so i can't say if he's good or not... he sounds decent
one thing that will be a worry is that he doesn't have public liability (???)
this could be an issue if you get a dickhead customer who screams 'you broke my car!'
i need an auto electrician... i want a relay or solenoid installed in my car as it has hot start problems?
can you do this? i prefer not to replace the starter as it's ok otherwise
no i haven't checked the fluid - it never crossed my mind that the box was anything but stuffed
but you're right - if it's holding every gear it might be just fluids
problem is i already have a turbo manual skyline
that's why i jsut wanted to keep this other one auto
i'm hoping i can get a motor and box for $1,000 and just pay someone to slot it in
like many on sau I'm in IT and can't do anything more hard than an oil change
yeah i might ask a mate to help me find an rb25de + auto combo and just slot the lot in
manual conversions and all sounds like a lot of money
i like the idea of a vh45 but i seriously can't find anyone in sydney who knows what the deal is
that sounds like a reasonable amount of money to get a vq30 into a skyline?
i imagine they sound like any blown six... nothing sounds as bad as an sr20
I have this old sedan. It has some problems...
1. the auto box is flaring. It's not 100% cactus. You get drive on the straight but you sometimes get nothing on corners.
2. it has a blown head gasket and I don't know how screwed the motor is.
Otherwise it's ok - body is good, suspension fine.
What is the cheapest way to get it going again? I personally like the VH45DE conversion but that sounds like $$$. I'd even go an SR20DET but I hate the way they sound.
I suspect that the money to fix the head gasket could get up there so much that a new motor might be cheaper.
Mike,
Would you mind sending me some pics and the sheet?
email is [email protected]
Interested in a v35 sedan but I have a few riders...
I want the lightest one possible. I'd prefer the biggest engine as possible...
Preference for gearbox is a 5 spd auto > 6 spd manual...
Definitely do not want 4wd or the CVT?
Does anyone any spec. sheets for V35s?
here's one I found:
http://www.infinitig35.net/Sedans/Specs/
V35 300GT 1,745kg
V35 250GT 1,470kg
That makes me less interested... I'm guessing the V35 350GT weighs more than 1,745kg?
and 160kW pushing 1,470kg doesn't sound so quick.
In the old days prior to May 2003 there were RWD Stageas being imported.
Under the new system they have to be 4WD.
I prefer RWD as well.
I think however AWD -> RWD is not as easy as just pulling the front shafts?
Guy here reckons that dropping a resistor in to cut the speed in half is they way to go.
Is that ok?
Does it affect the auto box at all?
I don't mind a quick and dodgy fix like that but if it affects the gearbox I'd like a better solution.
btw. top speed of the car is now 90km/h!
