  1. They're all about the size of a largish dictionary or bible. Think of maybe a steel box a few inches bigger than a Nissan ECU. T.
  2. If P-platers are so experienced, why are they still on their P-plates? This is a seriously half arsed law with a whole bunch of P-platers with sand in their collective vaginas. T.
  3. No-one gets a 'go straight to jail' card for traffic infringements unless it involves alcohol or some kind of bodily harm. Decades ago someone got bashed into a coma for unpaid parking tickets. Only the media is cretinous enough to suggest jail time for 'no harm, no foul' speeding charges. T.
  4. Falken GR Beta 451s are very decent but will set you back $300+ Supposdly their top line non semi tyre. Apparently Federal aren't too bad for around $200. T.
  5. Too many IT specialists in this group. To be fair, USB/1394 cases are not that cheap... looking at $60+ and you are talking about Aldis not MSY where you have to line up like refugees waiting for UN disaster rations. T.
  6. Can you dial in 100% power to front wheels? T.
  7. I use OS Giken. They're forged and complete overkill for that purpose. T.
  8. Because I care. T.
  9. I have a set of real recaros and I doubt they are ADR approved - they are JDM delivered. T.
  10. That's what I didn't want to see. Someone you know posting that their car is gone. I'm like you guys - I try to park on the main street in well traffic'ed areas. T.
  11. They allow you to use those wacky top feed injectors. T.
  12. That's really harsh. I don't agree with that either. I have a PowerFC and with the right tune, it really changes the car... really really changes the power delivery so that response is much improved. The tune on my car is so good (IMO) that I've stopped a lot of mods now because it's given me the torque hit in the midrange that was missing with other tunes. I feel for John as he truly believes this is a valid mod. I got the feeling that there's some art to the science that isn't coming up on pure bench flow tests. I'm getting the feeling that front facing plenums are an advantage? Why are they used on the RB26 and on the 1JZ/2JZ series. If 'cross flow' plenums are so good why aren't they on all cars? This argument has been a popular point of interest on SAU... almost to the point that other forums have been pointing us here as some sort of definitive argument about the matter. I think that John's plenum should show some gains over the Greddy plenum as it's clear the Greddy has some problems. You have to ask yourself if that $1,500 is as valid as an ECU or cams. I'd go cams and ECU personally. I'd also note that the New Zealanders have seemed to have trumped us on these items. Besides RIPS, there's a place that makes carbon fibre plenums that sit on the original runners. T.
  13. Could you guys follow this one up? T.
  14. I thought Andrew was having us on with 'Abul Fazal' as the contact. Life is stranger than fiction. It deserves to be cruising the streets of Baghdad. Back to Guantanamo Bay with you. T.
  15. My dad's a JP but he works in Granville. My local chemist is a JP as well... he's in Beecroft. Are you anywhere near there? T.
  16. Most people outside of Macquarie Fields reckon they got it coming. You steal a car and evade police and you hit a tree, it's your fault. However one would be stupid to ignore environment. I think the psychologists would call it 'nature vs. nurture'. I understand that these people grow up in an a society that does not give them a chance and that they are oppressed to some degree. But that is a contributing factor to this behaviour, not a root cause. You'd be very shortsighted to not see that this area is not going to produce our best and brightness let alone allow these kids to have a reasonable future. Most people look at Macquarie Fields and immediately they think about the kind of people who live there. It's not attractive and if you wanna see some Sydney ghettos, there you are. T.
  17. I suppose 'mickey mouse' is bad? If you motor is of sound condition, good compression, 55 on the HC knock counter is not acceptable. T.
  18. You gotta ask yourself what you want to achieve. It's not about achieving the highest rwkW. Some people believe that perhaps a dyno tune then a follow up road tune is what's needed. You can spend a good half of a day doing this. Also you might want someone who has access to the laptop s/w instead of just the hand controller. T.
  19. Oh because I'm the only one to make that mistake... >allright, thx a lot guys for your advices. >does anyone know where can i get the carbon fibre bonnet for R32 GTR? person 1 >have a look here >www.nismo.com.au person 2 >you think that's expensive???? >try buying a proper carbon fibre bonnet person 3 >seconded. Adam and Ben certainly know what they're doing. I apologise otherwise. About what CRD charge... sometimes I hear it's $600, $700 and up. Ask what others charge for a dyno tune. Just because CRD are alleged to be the best, doesn't mean others aren't as professional. T.
  20. Everyone should drive a car like a Mercedes or BMW saloon with ABS, DSC, traction control and electronic brake force distribution. And then try a simple R32 GTSt with plain 280mm discs and four pistons and no ABS If you can't see where all these things have taken away from the driving experience, perhaps you need to join the legends of clueless drivers who need these crutches. I personally find driving our Mercs as the most remotely vague experience. A car like the 32 GTSt is one of the most balanced cars available. Light with excellent brakes. For an above average driver, the 32 GTSt is as safe as anything made this year as long as one can work around the lack of ABS and bags. I cannot forgive people who crash Skylines of their own accord - they are so actively safe I cannot imagine a car more able to avoid accidents. T.
  21. $800 is very very fair for a quasi fiberglass/faux carbon bonnet. Don't pull prices out of your rear end without some kind of justification. Other tuners can also do a good job for example at UAS. T.
  22. I might tip the same hat at you. I'm only saying this is my opinion. I believe I made that very clear when I preface everything with "my feeling is" or "I strongly believe". I don't believe in reading all the manufacturers' spiel and regurgitating it like it's the gospel. Having driven the very best which you might be lead to believe is a E series Mercedes with ABS and EBFD, I can see where plain good engineering in brakes and rotors beats a mass of electronics any day. Like Roy I've locked it on the track but never on the road. That would make me believe that driver behaviour is the prime cause. T.
  23. Isn't the police station around the corner? 10.20pm is just way too late to be in Ermington in a car like this. T.
  24. People blame the lack of ABS for having accidents - is that you? I've driven cars that have a ABS systems that crap on the mid 90's setups Skylines have. My feeling is that ABS is for cars with weak brakes and poor drivers - is that you? I'd rather drive a car with 300mm discs and four piston calipers and 235/45/17 fronts than a car with 260mm discs, two pistons and 205/60/16 and ABS. ABS is a crutch for poor driving and poor drivers. A good driver can stop in lesser distance in any condition that an average driver who just slams on the brakes like a fool and hopes ABS can save him. I strongly believe in increasing skill and not increasing reliance on flawed technology. T.
  25. It's generally considered non practical to install ABS to a non-ABS car. It's also the consensus that Skylines do not need ABS given that they have such excellent brakes. If you can drive properly ABS is not necessary. T.
