  1. The cheapest I seen is a white R34 auto N/A sedan that had 15" steelies with plastic wheel trims. It looked like their version of a Commodore Executive. Risbey sold it ages ago for well under $15,000. You could very easily spend another $15,000 putting in an RB26 and making sure it's safe to drive (ie. 4 piston brake upgrade etc. etc.) T.
  2. Could you post a picture of your two cars in the same shot with this weekend's Sydney Morning Herald on the bonnet? You guys know where I'm going with this. T.
  3. Justin, Every forum is the same. Everyone reckons they have supermodels for girlfriends and every pic of 'normal women' they see ain't good enough. Seriously that one is quite pretty and I reckon she'd go all right in a vinyl blue and white 'Endless' costume (can you arrange that btw?) And those 'fat hands' would be put to good work believe you me. T.
  4. Well you can stop all conversation at this point. The Jun dist. here is Croydon Racing Developments in Silverwater. They can assuredly get you set up with a 'sick' GT-R. T.
  5. The RTA treats passengers cars as sedans or wagons. I'm pretty sure they don't have a category for hatches (I haven't owned one for a long time). They're all classified as 2 or 5 seat sedans. Even GT-Rs are 5 seats! I don't know how they confused a 180 with a Skyline! I'd like to see them tackle an R32 nosed Silvia by Uras T.
  6. The secret is that the trim has a very thin layer of rubber on it - as it ages this rubber goes brittle. You need to sand all the rubber off and then spray. I've been meaning to do this but I'm lazy. T.
  7. Very very dodgy. If you got to a Bosch dealer do they try to gyp you and tell you a $200 pump is the same a $360 pump? The Bosch 044 is the standard for higher performance pumps. I wanted this one above those lesser ones. And paid for it. T.
  8. Space saver. 14kg... toss it. I just have a spare set of alloys at home. T.
  9. Wow. That's good as I have a shitty old '95 Skyline Where's this is writing or is it Perth only? T.
  10. ??? I run without any undertray and both my wheel well liners are gone. No problems. T.
  11. What's with the R32 tailights? It deserves a full magazine from a Mac-10 and a Viking burial courtesy of NOS. T.
  12. Call Bosch. They can check it. Mine ends 044 and it was Czech. T.
  13. It DOESN'T act like a trampoline. Most likely you'll hit the bonnet, it'll fold a little and the top of the RB will most likely cause you some severe internal injury. I've seen a carbon bonnet in an accident and it's cracks and folds back. It's no more dangerous than a steel bonnet. T.
  14. If you're in the Homebush/Silverwater, you can check out my C's in my 33 - it's sharp, troublefree and it's put up with my bad driving since it's install over a year ago. T.
  15. What's this converted bullshite? CFC to non CFC? I got two people in the Homebush area that can do regas and Skyline conversions. T.
  16. That's true. Just after the EVL-34 incident, I stopped driving mine into 'danger' areas. But they can't keep that effort up. I know they can't even do regular patrols of drag hot spots. You can see it in the way they enforce traffic. People used to get done for failing to indicate and poor merging and other fines that require a police car to pull you over. Now it's all 69 in a 60 zone. T.
  17. Andrew, The police cannot afford to run patrols to the level that would make a difference. You know it yourself as does anyone who does any driving in Syd. - unless there is a double demerit point blitz, there is zero police prescence. There isn't much in the way that the lawmakers can punish those who want to street race. Confiscations do occur - we used to hear about it every so often on the various forums. We all agree that something should be done but we're really as dumbfounded as your neighbour in his Camry. P-platers will continue to get the shaft and there'll be no further education. Meanwhile... A cop gets run over by a P-plater at Five Dock - a hit and run hero at an RBT. And all the while the fun gets sucked out of this hobby. T.
  18. Also you won't get any Western government confiscating private property, selling it and keeping the proceeds. While I think that's not a bad idea, only governments like Communist China and Nazi Germany can get away with something like that. Remember it's illegal to confiscate the property of murders and rapist to repatriate the victims so what makes you think they'll do it for a couple of illegal drags. I'm pretty sure it's even stated in the Westminster legal system we follow. This will be the same thing next month, next government, next victims. T.
  19. Would you believe the Hot4s forums? T.
  20. Lucien is on the money. Rather our insurance council operates in similar ways to the RBA... your underwriting company must have sufficent liquidity and re-insurance to cover liabilities. Also insurance policies have to cover in many eventualities that may not be coverable if it were up to the insurance company itself. I know the company I used to work for had to cover huge liabilities because that's what the police record showed - not what happening in reality. And there's no appeal to this process because you're dealing with peoples' livelihoods here. On a practical side. How does one acertain that someone was doing 75 in a 60 zone and that was what caused the accident? There are too many variables so much so that one cannot be absolutely certain what speed the accident happened at. Also how would you feel is you were in an accident caused by simple mistakes but you were denied coverage? I make mistakes. Insurance isn't for people who don't make mistakes! The only 'new' market in insurance is that Budget Direct mob who will only insure if you're a 35y.o. female on the North Shore driving a Camry with a virgin record. T.
  21. I strongly doubt there's any of us even remotely interested in illegal streets drags. Let's be honest here... most of us use our cars to get to work... as daily drivers. Our median age is higher and our records stand comparison to any law abiding person out there (within reason!) There are lots of responsible Skyline drivers out there - people with jobs and kids. Unfortunately we're all slandered with the same brush. It pains me to see people here having to defend themselves on other forums because most people know very well what they drive. You can see where the govt. is going with this... cutting the 15 y.o. import rule... more draconian measures. Ask yourself this - do you as normal people feel like assaulting police officers? This isn't anyone on this forum. I admit that I might have attended one or two illegal drags but hitting police??? This isn't the thinking of normal people. How are the police like when they see your car? Suspicious? They look at you odd? The only thing you can do is drive responsibly. People expect you to drive like they read in the media. Don't give them the benefit of their expectations. T.
  22. First of all you're preaching to the converted. I'd say most of us use Skylines to get to work. Syd. public transports sux. T.
  23. More like 4 meters away dude. Their Monaro/GTO kits looks interesting. Silly Americans. T.
  24. Your car and bike license is the same. You share the same 12 points. No car = no bike. T.
  25. That's the way it is pal. Just be glad this ain't Victoria. I get the feeling that people think our courts are like the "The Practice" - people get off on minor technicalities. The Aust. courts will CORRECT the minor mistakes and reinstate the fine + court costs. You also might want to know that the legal system has no recourse against points. You might even very well get the fine removed and be declared innocent if your case has merits but you won't ever get the points waived. T.
