  1. I want to reverse the Tritronic shifter on my v35 , so that when I hit down (pull towards me) it shifts into a higher gear and vise versa for upshifting. I sorta wannt make it closer to a manual shifter. Anyone try this or figure it can be done?
  2. Anyone have any idea what these 2 black things are on my centre console? They seam to be glued on or something... They are not buttons and don't do anything that I can tell. Say Pazio on them.
  3. I simple mean unplug the TV in signal (from the TV antenna) from the TV tuner box and plug in a second video source using a second cable? Then on the OEM screen when I select TV (instead of video) then the second video source is displayed. I dunno just a thought.
  4. Chris, Is it possible to buy a second cable and disconnect the TV input and use it as a second video source? I'm never going to use the TV input.
  5. IS this is thing with two different cables in the package? The one that connects to the TV tuner works great! But what does the second cable do? The japanese refers to the CD stacker I think....
  6. But wouldn't dropping the car pc, connecting a/c cord to tv tuner in the boot and running 1 usb cord up to the touch screen overlay be much easier then ripping out the OEM box? As for the software side, forget anything to do with the OEM software, the new versions of centrafuse have every feature and more that the OEM screen has, and as a bonus it's in English. I figure once someone sets the TV tuner / stereo to video AUX then they never have to hit any other buttons on any part of the OEM system again. The rest is done with centra fuse. What people will loose is the OEM NAV button functions, this is the only downside, but seems much much easier for non-tech people to do at home. I suggest the carpc run a modified version of xp, the best is probably Lastxp v22. (Avail at hxxp://www.sharingisthepoint.net) then centrafuse over the top. Grab the newest maps (cira Oct 21/08) and the bluetooth pack and its done. Pre-installing all the software prior to installing into the car is easy.
  7. Wow that looks awesome, nice find! for more more specs check out : http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/mainboar...herboard_id=790
  8. I'm thinking of getting the ELM 327 USB for my OBDII connection. From all my research this seems the one that's compatible with both the 350GT and centrafuge. What sort of problems did you encounter? Any tips to avoid? Also can you breifly explain how you incorperated the immobilizer into this? I'm pretty handy with software, I'll be running lastxp v21 with the rebuilt custom "Kay" core. This should set a solid foundation for the OS.
  9. Yeah your pretty much on track to what I'm imagining. I thinking using a centrafuse front end running on a 4th gen barebones "car pc" (from www.mo-co-so.com) is def the best solution to drive this thing. I'll get the solid state HDD, GPS reciever, FM transmitter and wifi card locally so I'm not blowing a lot of USD. As for the monitor replacement, Def gotta find something with a form factor small enough to cram into the dash. The Double DIN Lilliput 629 or 701 are both are 7inch (800x480 res), so it might be a tight fit. I also found a 6.4 (600x480 res) from http://www.cybertouch.com/s6401x.html. This smaller screen might buy the space required to fit it within the OE housing, problem is it seems these only have one input either serial or USB and not both. What I'll really need to figure out is how to incase these in the OE screen housing or pull out the old drummel to make the hole a little bigger. That'll be a pain as then I'll need to mod the whole sliding action. This is something that is a probably a deal breaker. The button idea is feasable, technically not an issue. but again I really am trying to keep the full OE menus working. (trip counter, fuel usage meter, etc.) I'd only replace the buttons that are not part of this. Im looking to installing a mic as part of the hands free integration and then all that would be needed was to assign voice commands to certain centrafuge actions. Now I'll I gotta do is make it some like kit like these guys: http://www.knightridergps.com But we are in aggreement, its a no brainer. this does everything except change the OE menus to english. But this isn't a big deal as I also imported my girlfriend from japan.
  10. Did a little digging on the interface side of things. Maybe instead of an after market touch screen which invites a whole range of combatility issues, I keep the OE screen and just input the car-puter into the exsisting display and stereo and use an airmouse for the interface. I'm looking at this product "http://www.mobileairmouse.com/". (The demo looks awesome.) Airmouse basically turns my iphone into a wireless air mouse and keyboard. I could mount this just below the OE screen and used as a touch pad, or it can be used by holding it in my hand and using my iphone as a wand, offering the best of both worlds. This basically comes down to if it is possible to connect the car-puter to the bose stereo and the OE screen or not. hmmmm...
  11. Thanks guys for the links, interesting. Only thing it seems as these other guy's aren’t leaving the OEM software and OEM computer connected (i.e. the DVD-ROM box). I want to keep these features, just in putting them into the new touch screen under a different source. (Therefore keeping the need for the OEM NAV buttons). If anyone's got diagrams of the electrical system on the v35 especially as it pertains to connecting the audio to the BOSE and how the OE DVD-ROM box connects to the OEM screen, it'd be much appreciated! I like the idea of connecting the immobilizer to my car-puter and uploading GPS co-ordinates. Sorta like a home version of the low jack. But since I plan on using my iphone for the I-net connection this probably isn't useful. Well unless both my car and iphone are stolen. Then that's just a bad day for everybody.
  12. Hi all, I've been reading through the forum but haven't seen much on the following mods. Anyone have any info on the plausibility of these mods: I have a '03 350GT V35 Prem with bose stereo. I want to install a computer (running windows) in the boot and run the video inputs into the in dash screen and running the audio into the Bose stereo. Here's what I'm planning to do. 1) I want to replace the OE screen with a touch screen to better interface with the computer, while maintaining the ability to hide away the screen in the dash when not using it. (Therefore must be the same size as the OE screen) 2) Run an IPod USB cable from the carputer to a docking station modified from the ashtray in the centre console. 3) Keep the OE computer connected to the new touch screen and still controlled by the OE buttons (I can read Japanese so I still want to see things like fuel consumption amount, trip counter etc.) I figure I could switch between input devices. I figure this way I'll have full audio and video (dixv, xvid etc) capability through the in dash screen and has full Nav using the carputer's GPS card and off the shelf software. (Australian maps can be downloaded too) Then I can tether my Ipone via the USB dock and have internet access also. Here are my questions: 1) Are there any touch screen's out there that 1) fit in place of the OE screen and 2) have the correct inputs to connect all the necessary connections etc.? 2) What sort of connectors do I need to connect my computer to the Bose stereo as an audio input source? Any help would be appreciated.
