  1. Hiya, First of all, redtop coilpacks are different from silvertop ones. Second of all, I think you should double check the wiring into your ECU. Especially since you've done an engine conversion, it's very likely a wiring issue. Look up the wire for cylinder #6 and double check its the right wire for power to that cylinder. I had the EXACT same issue with my car (RB20 into an R31) and it turned out that the coilpack wire had been spliced directly into the temp sender. The result was a constant signal to the coilpack which melted it. Not fun and not cheap. Good luck, let us know how you go.
  2. Sorry, I've done a quick search, but couldn't find anything (in a bit of a hurry as well). Does the non turbo fuel reg off an R32 RB25DE support the same rail pressure as my RB20DET one? I've been told these engines share the same injectors, so I'm guessing they are safe to swap. But confirmation would be appreciated. Cheers, Mike
  3. I am interested in the turbo and fuel system parts. If the sale falls through with the above people please send me a PM.
  4. Did you say you could source HKS 2530's? If you can't I'm after basically the same thing 'Jason' is: How much horsepower/kilowatts do you want? 230rwkw What are you using the car for? 90% Street When do you want boost roughly? Full by 3500 if possible Do you want power early or late in the rev range? A little lag is fine but must not drop off boost at all What Mods you engine has or is going to have including computers or exhaust etc.? 3" turbo back exhaust, intake, FMIC, fuel pump, injectors, power fc or a tune, possibly cams Obviously, what car? R31 with a RB20DET Intercooled? Standard copy cooler 600x300x76 Still running AFM or upgraded or no longer there? Stock RB20 AFM, but would upgrade to Z32 if necessary Custom exhaust manifold or standard? Standard External wastegate or internal(limited to virtually 450hp)? Internal I was thinking the GT28R, but I really have no clue. Maybe too small?
  5. I own an R31 with a recently installed RB20. Cylinder 2 is not firing for some reason. My only clue is that coil #2 is getting much hotter than the others, so it is obviously getting constant signal instead of a pulse. I have replaced ignitor box, the coil (which had burst open from the heat), the wiring that joins the coils to the ignitor box, and spark plugs. After all that it still does it, and I'm now stumped for ideas. Does anyone here have some suggestions where to look next? Michael
  6. I know this sort of reply is probably getting real old by now, but I just wanted to say how impressed I am with this little controller. I am running an RB20 with RB25 turbo, and it does not spike even in the slightest. I haven't tested if it drops off at high rpm yet, but I can say that the GFB controller in before it was spiking 1-2psi. My only question is, why haven't GFB, Turbosmart etc., with their presumably very large R&D departments, not figured this out already??
  7. I'm doing an RB30 -> RB20 conversion, and the RB20 is from a GTS4 (it's already been welded up to suit my R31). I tried fitting the metal brackets that link the bottom of the trans with the bottom of the block, but they don't fit. I have a suspicion that maybe the GTS4 sump doesn't require them, because it sort of bulges out towards the transmission anyway? Can anyone confirm this?
  8. If it's the one I think it is, it makes like a "ft-tsshhhh" sound. Haha, I always laugh when people try to make blow off valve sounds over forums and here I am doing it
  9. I read that all R32's are M-spec? Might have been a figment of my imagination though
  10. Bump, negotiable on price.
  11. Might be interested in the boost gauge. Can I get pics to [email protected] Are they mechanical or electrical and do they come with all the wiring, hoses etc.
  12. Um, I'm sure you already are, but you didn't mention it in your post - are you checking the Quokka as well? Also, check the import websites. They seem to deal with Skylines a lot more than any other car, but are still worth looking at.
  13. I think I just got moderated Anyway, if you are considering the R31, check the For Sale section at http://www.r31skylineclub.com . There will be oz models that have been turbo'd for that price (or less) as well.
  14. That makes him only 39k short!!! hehe :headspin:
  15. $8k would get you a nice import r31.
  16. Do you have any more pictures? If so, send them to [email protected] please... Any idea how much power it would be making?
  17. Hi everyone, I'm still new to these forums, but had a question regarding the back rear quarter panels. If the rear windshield seal broke, and water got down into the rear guards, how much of the inner rear panel would have rusted? I have been quoted $1200 for the rust to be cut out of the guards (where the water has settled), but I'm wondering if the entire panels should be replaced (it will mean big $$$ though). The car in question is an R32 Skyline. All help appreciated! Michael
  18. Would this advertising be the reason why PM's are down at the moment?
  19. OK, about the whole GT-R's being expensive to own thing... does the same apply to a GTS4? i.e. is the expensive part about owning a GT-R the driveline, or the engine, or both?
  20. I have one, it will be manual soon. It's probably actually only worth around the $4000 mark, but I can bump the price up just for you if you want :headspin: On a more serious note, check the For Sale section of www.r31skylineclub.com If you're after one at that price, I would assume your looking for a modded Aus spec with a turbo conversion of some sort, or a stock-ish import. In any case, you might as well try your luck there as well. Good hunting! Michael
