Whats With The Hate In This Forum
streatracer replied to R33Gangstar's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Yeah this seems to be a pretty common forum problem ay. Yes it happens too much on this forum but there are certainly worse out there (cough, antilag, cough) I'v always wondered if a name and shame keyboard warriors thread would help? On smaller forums this problem can be minimised by moderators but on a forum this big? they certainly have their work cut out (side note: why do the haters always drive shitboxes? All the guys running nice cars always seem to be really helpful. life lesson perhaps?) -
pic of the R33 on the weekend

They'll fit but they are less aggressive than the NA cams so very little point. Usually the reverse is done, people usually fit the NA cams into turbo motor

Can A Stock R33 Beat A Civic/integra Type R/s?
streatracer replied to Savin's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I dont think people realise how ridiculously slow a stock R33 is (and i love 33s lol i got 3 of em) stock they put 120kw to the wheels (depending on dyno) and theres plenty of hondas out there with that much power and more, and they weigh much less. however once you start modding a skyline horsepower skyrockets and the hondas don't stand a chance -
Can A Stock R33 Beat A Civic/integra Type R/s?
streatracer replied to Savin's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Being from nz Iv owned/driven quite a few quick vtec hondas (the honda scene is a lot bigger in nz) and I personally think a decent driver in either of the cars mentioned should smoke a standard gtst. I had a straight up standing start race with a mint stock R33 and beat it to 180 in a 2.2 vtec prelude with a pod filter and intake pipe no other mods. (yes the skyline driver was a decent driver and was VERY surprised, as was I lol) -
same old story one bad cop ruins the image of the police for everyone. Unfortunately the bad seem to be far outweighing the good and the balance is only slipping further into the negative. I have had very little interaction with the wa pol in my time in au but sadly my experiences have been 100% negative. I have a theory though, any decent cop worthy of his job would most likely be moved on from traffic duties reasonably quickly yes? obviously this would leave a pool of next to useless no hopers to hand out yellows and run their mouth. Sadly as most of us are fortunate enough to avoid serious crimes on a daily basis have very little exposure to the quality cops who actually do their bit to keep our communities safe and secure, but as modified car enthusiasts we do have regular exposure to the losers on a power trip who give the rest a bad name. My only advice would be document everything if your pulled over request ID, badge numbers etc, and if possible record via phone cam etc. If all goes well then no damage done and you can go on your way, but if an officer is just harrassing, running their mouth etc you have a record. I would also suggest always dealing with officers in a civil and well mannered way no matter what their attitude as it can only help. giving attitude, however tempting, will never ever work in your favour haha. anyways my 2c

any chance of a pic of current wheels? -
well i make 320rwkw and I havn't found a V8 that'll catch me yet lol I usually let them pull a few lengths then drop it and reel em in haha if you really wanna embarass them pop the clutch after you pass em and smoke tyres, sure to send em home crying into their vb

if you get sideways do they kill you with fire? I'd love to book it out for my mates but no fun if you cant hang it out.

Yeah as mentioned above your ecu wont control boost. your turbo won't blow at exactly 14, could blow at 12 or could last years at 15 it's always a gamble. Gizzmo controller is not a cheap unit and is a quality bit of gear so i wouldn't worry about that. the advice to run bigger exhaust and cooler is spot on it never hurts to have more cooling and flow.

Let's make one saturday night
-
Is it an electronic boost controller or just a tap? a bit of boost spiking is normal with a boost tap and an extra 2psi is probably not gonna present too many problems.

Great cruise. good length for a weeknight. Rain made for craziness haha

Gutted! drift practice that night

2way+rain+skinny tires=concentration face haha With the 2ways its not the acceleration that gets ya its downshifts! 1st time ever driving with 2way and its pouring
-
I can see how you would take that point of view from what I said but I think you've taken it a little out of context. Getting sideways in fourth fear is definitely not a testament to my driving ability rather quite the opposite I was overtaking the friend I was travelling with and was not expecting it to break loose in such a high gear/low revs. All up it was a fail and I have a new found respect for/fear of my car in the wet.

Western Australian roads in the rain are dodgy as! I took my 33 out in the rain for the 1st time yesterday and it"ll kick out in 4th under boost in the rain! (with 275/30/19s!) made the trip back from margaret river interesting haha. anyway yea probably pay to take it easy in the rain till you build confidence. noone was born a good driver bro it just takes time behind the wheel
