  9. Hey sky, took a quick photo for you while i was in the garage. so apologies for the nokia quality. Here is mine, located on the the near front left hand side when you opened the bonnet. Anyway hope this helps.
  10. Cool, so in terms of detailing the car, does the detailer usually put something on the car other than polish and wax after claying to help the contaminated coating? Or this is wher polishing work its wonders already? anwyay ill attach a pic of my car before it goes under detailing on the 7th! apologies about the size and the pic is only taken on 3megapixel nokia. Ill take proper photos during and after Dr.Detail. To Rianto, theres your brake kits!
  11. Hey Touge, dont you think they are so easy to damage too..? i find the layer very thin... one little bump and graze ill be spewin already.. hmm maybe my car is just Black... anyhow i just find the skin very sensitive with our cars.
  12. +1 ^ i find meguires tools work quite well for DIY weekend jobs. in terms of claying, you will have to wash the car first to get rid of the dirt. then meguires clay kit. they are about 40 bux so its not to bad. after claying you would have to polish then wax. you probably have to be quite motivated to do this because it is very time consuming! hehe. probably give this link a read, I found it quite helpful. The Clay kit meguire comes with the detailer mist spray already so just double check the box prior to buying it. http://www.autogeek.net/megovclay.html oh just to share to you what my problem was, I brought my car for a front bumper re spray, i left it with them for a week and when i got the car back it was full of paint dust... everything was rough ass like a sand paper, only way to get rid of it is by scraping my nail on top of it. So i ended up calling mark straight away and problem solved. he told me how i can do it or how he can do it for a peace of mind. (Hence my car is Black Obsidian) I tried washing and polishing it wouldt take it out. Tried cutting paste and no result.. so claying was my last option. I tried claying and it worked, it took out about 35% of the paint dust so i can see better results even just little by little. I booked in mark so he can do it for me in the right way since hell be working on the car for atleast 6 hours, plus interior needs a good conditioning too and exterior full of sh*t load. End of the day I guess i just wanted to try for myself for a satisfaction that it wouldnt be permanent and for my future DIY job. Anyway thats claying for yah! hehe
  13. Here is Dr.Detail's contact. Mark Hockey - 0419 661 170 you can call him anytime to book or let him know your problem. Oh and let us know how you go with him! wondering what he says about those black sheyat on your pearl. He is doing my car on April 7th. Oh and yes inside and out, proper leather and suede treatment plus i asked him if he can look at the ceiling of my car as theres some marks on it. (kids!!) He mentioned that it will be covered aswell!
  14. haha no not yet. hoping soon! Alright so looks like $350 to $400 a piece for a re spray. Not to bad i guess... Yeh pics looks awesome! Ill definately get mine checked out... Thanks again! your car is looking nice and sexy!
  15. Hey Matt, Im getting Dr.Detail to have a look at my car. People claim that he is one of the best in SYD and possibly in AUS (As what people speak of him). He is also rated one of the best in www.finalinspection.com.au (number 1 site for detail freaks lol). Ive actually spoken to him and asked few questions what he actually does, (he is a 1 man team so you gotta book in early) and basically he will work on your car for 6 to 8 hours with different stages from cleaning, cutting, polishing and waxing.. depending aswell with the condition of your paint. He also uses Swissvax products. I didnt know what it was at first then i googled it. then..damn! those things costs $400.00 a tub. Other than that i saw some pics of his work and i was pretty happy to go ahead with his service. He was a very nice guy and very helpful aswell which helped me decide easier. $400 inside and out. He can come to your place as long as you have enough space for him to work on or you can go to his workshop at Milperra. Give him a call and see if he can help you out. or if you want you can wait for me to upload some before and after pics after he treats my car. Let me know if you want his number. Cheers,
  16. bro, if claying doesnt do the job then it could be more serious... Try the bug and tar remover on a very small spot, make sure the surface is cool and strictly on the shade. claying is like cutting the very surface of the car already (by hand) so yeah dude. sounds really tough.. do you know wher it came from? that can help us out a little bit..
  17. Yo Superspit, Just wondering how much did you end up spending on your re spray? (just the rear bumper) Im actually planning to get my rear bumper re-sprayed soon as aswell.. and oh..the dealer re-sprayed my front bumper couple of weeks ago..when i got the car back, the car was full of Paint Dust, fark me dead was the worse surface feel of the car ever... and im still claying it myself. Detailer will be treating the car in 2 weeks. ill post some pics after.. Peace,
