  1. sorry just read what nismoid said that they can run to 350AWKW with standard box....... can delete this post cheers
  2. hey there, im running about 345awkw, just read that the max the GTR air box can handle is about 330awkw....... will i still be sweet? cheers
  3. ok, ive never even heard of 'tractive effort' so can torque be read on a dyno?
  4. hey all, my GTR is running 345AWKW, the torque figures where 950NM of torque which sounds a bit much to me. ive been told that the dyno needs to be adjusted to give real torque figures, to do with the drive ratio?????? its a bit over my head, but anyway can you work out the real amount of torque by the torque figure given? cheers
  5. hey there, i have a LINK G4 took it back to my tuner (6 hr drive there, fly back, then fly back up, drive back etc etc) he is considered one, or the best tuner's in the south island (NZ) and told him to retune it, but he still could'nt get rid of it. i told him about going back to original BOV's, or put in a softer spring etc, but he said it would'nt hold at high boost (im running 19.5lbs @ 345AWKW) i have had so many people tell me what to do, but it's kind of hard to tell someone who's job is it to tune cars to do this-that-and the other, i dont want to offend him aye. well might try the cold air box theory... cheers robbie
  6. just the reversion noise (established its not the 'shuffle') i wish i could here the induction noise over it! i didnt ask my mechanic to make up all the custom piping, and didnt want the aftermarket BOV (even though its plumbed back) but i got it! i liked the car as i bought it, the induction noise, and the turbos spooling..... now all i here is f*cken Thomas the Tank engine felching away under my hood
  7. sweet cheers, but i just dont think a pod enclosed box will fit that easy, should i just go back to a panel filter box? cheers
  8. um yeah holly crap thats mean! yeah ive got a few more pipes around that box area though, but cheers for the pic's...... but the main thing being i want to quiet down the cho cho.....will the box achieve this to a degree? cheers
  9. hey there, ive got the cho cho train on my GTR (aftermarket BOV, custom piping etc) does anyone know if i enclose my pod filters in a cold air box if it will dull down the noise, the BOV are plumbed back in, internal gated 2860-5's cheers ps. thats if a box will fit, there aint much room
  10. hey HKS twinplate l/w flywheel, real sweet, i havent driven many different clutches but had this from brandnew, a lil rattley but hey a real nice clutch.....
  11. Hey as my last 2 posts, RB26 2860-5's, LINK G4 and supporting mods. from cold as boost increases starts shuddering, missing, sounds like backfiring in manifold? have put new plugs in it, fixes problem for about 100k took back to mechanic (500k away) who set up cold start, brought it home started up, worked once, now running like crap again this dosent make sense. why when boost increases does it run like crap, but changing plugs fix it???????????? im over it now, the car is for sale but would like to maybe figure out WTF is wrong with it? cheers oh yeah been back on dyno again to check all running sweet this problem took about 3 months (4000k) to rear its ugly head
  12. yeah will post up graph when i pick up car
  13. hey all...... quick update. got the gtr on the dyno at the mo. was 310AWKW 879NM at 18lbs, now we at 340AWKW 975NM @ 19.5lbs on 98 fuel........hmmmmmm nice
  14. i think its on full boost at 4800RPM, on 18lbs, it was tuned for torque not big horsepower, its sitting on dyno at the mo. standard cams, but with cam gears
  15. yeah is kinda funney aye, i probably would have gone for the smaller -7 turbo's, i miss the low down pull of even the standard turbo's, i didnt really know much about tunning GTR's when i started. but yeah (cue input from nismoid ) i think these turbos are probably a little big street use, because you have to wind them up to get the rush aye, i think 20lbs would be perfect though, will let ya know though.............
  16. sweet as....yeah should be interesting to see how much power comes out of it, those -5's feel pretty lazy on 18lbs, cant wait to up the boost!
  17. hey the nut is like a big screw that covers the nuts under it cheers
  18. hey ive got the same too with LMGT4'S
  19. hey there, yes sorry .8mm gap, and yes have a nismo pump, and yes has been dynoed, my mechanic fixed problen it was the cold start not set up (i live in queenstown and was going to Aus for winter so it didnt get set up) and use 98 octane too 00skyline00 it runs the new LINK G4, its a new zealand company, been around for a while, robbie ward runs them too cheers for your guys help robbie ps. its going back on the dyno tomorrow, cranking boost up too bout 22lbs will let you know result tomorrow......
  20. hey there, ive got a R33 GTR, 310AWKW i have a HKS twin plate, lightweight flywheel, its really good, easy to use, my girlfriend jumped in car and drove straight away, cant fault it really!
  21. hey sorry 2860-5's, 15lbs low boost, 18 lbs high (about to go up to 22lbs) LINK G4, 770cc injectors, NGK 8mm gap cheers oh yeah, had the same problem before with standard turbos, power fc, AFM's, exhaust etc both times car ran sweet, then as soon as i got it to queenstown where i live slowly started runnig like crap, fouling plugs?????????????????????????????????????????????
  22. hey thanks for that but when your car dosent almost get up a hill because of the backfiring when its cold when coming on boost seems to me a bit excessive, and considering it never did it before kinda frustrating aye
  23. hmmm wouldnt it have been doing this from day 1? its taken about 3 months to start the backfiring?
  24. hey thanks for the help, probably the sump baffle too?
