  1. what are you wanting? drive in/drive out? built engine? just ecu and tune? 101 motorsport, gt auto garage, ak racing are a few high quality shops. They don't stuff around, do it once and do it right.
  2. Look at FIA rated/certified ones. 5/6 point, cam lock and good buckles. I've used sparco, MVP/Raceworks, velo. Also look at Hans specific 2 to 3 inch belts if using a Hans. Raceworks will do fancy colours too
  3. if wanting reliability and that level of performance a dry sump is mandatory for circuit stuff as you'll just be filling the head with oil. easy and reliable setup with potential for more later Hypergear bolt on turbo or a g30-660 with T3 rear housing .92 external gate mod to factory exhaust manifold with 45mm waste gate plazmaman/pwr intercooler oil cooler 1200cc injectors 460 TI/walbro with upgrade relay and wiring/pwm control turbosmart fuel reg Link g4x plug in ecu with knock, oil, fuel pressure sensors, 3 port mac valve, DBW conversion Quality clutch kit- NPC is what I've used for a long time READ THE WHOLE OIL CONTROL THREAD Could do major service while there and maybe headgasket, studs and valve springs. as soon as you whack a massive turbo and short runner intake on a street car they are useless and not practical the above will be a fun and reliable 400-430hp on E85 all day with correct maintenance and mechanical sympathy.
  4. I've looked at some oval stuff but still deciding what material to use for the back half to the muffler. Yeah I do all my own stuff with ecu setup and have it sorted before generally paying someone (my old work) to do base runs and a few power runs then I'll do anything else myself at track or after review data. It's hard to find a dyno owner these days that will hire out to random.
  5. I was using Realdash App on my entertainment unit in the sil80. Can connect over USB/bluetooth, can set up warnings and is discreet and doesn't stand out bonus was using android auto so had maps and music still going. Put the dollars saved from a screen into decent ecu, sensors and other upgrades.
  6. Have made a start on the dump pipe. Ordered a few 3.5 inch bends and pie cuts. To make fit up and tacking a bit easier cut some slots in an old t bolt clamp. It's been a tight fit but managedto get it down under the car but still sits about 5-6mm below the chassis rail. Have started to weld it out but not had much time. Also got new orings and gasket so intake and injectors are back in with all the water bypass done. Another box arrived with bits for making a swirl pot off the upper coolant neck. PWR are still waiting to make my intercooler and radiator but should be ready in 2 weeks. Slowly making a plan for a few suspension arm upgrades for when all engine/driveline is done. Got a busy period for work ext few weeks so not much will happen on the car.
  7. I've had this happen with some cheaper kits and found the efihardware ones don't do this. I would go be pwm the pump no way need it at 100% all the time.
  8. That's a neat unit, was looking at running the traditional setup for the race car but will look at using these now.
  9. Big thing is available inputs for sensors and not having to run multiple expander boxes and software packages for different things why motec is up there. The link ecu and an aim pdm32 was a combination I looked at early on so get ecu, dash and pdm in one go. Aim logging software is pretty good and has all the tracks I will ever drive. Having logging setup with tracks already available is a big thing for myself so can click drop down and go. Thing that I keep seeing is the support what's needed and having a package that people in the know are familiar with as learning a new platform is time consuming. Got a few boxes that arrived with bits while I was away so hopefully will fit a few sensors and make a start on the dump pipe today. Going to be interesting fitting a 3.5 inch exhaust on this and keeping it above the chassis rails.
  10. I was actually going to send you a message about motec and how you found its traction control. Emtron is also being considered but looking for a decent ecu then add a pdm later. Wanting to have software that has timing system and track maps for everywhere too. The link g5 pro is same price as m150 too
  11. Been ages since I did anything on the s15 but got some time and motivation over the weekend. Brakes are now fitted with fresh seals, hardware and pads. Bolted up with the alpha omega brackets, just waiting on 2 fittings and sensors to Bleed them. With that done moved onto the fuel system. The injectors have been cleaned ,flow tested, new filters and orings. Made a bracket to hold the surge tank with surge tank and pumps mounted then plumbed. Roll-over valve done too. Need to make a new loom and add individual relays for it all. Had new flange welded on inlet manifold for a bosch 74mm DBW throttle body. Coolant bypass hose done with some fittings welded on now then soda blasted. Waiting on sensors to arrive to install and pwr for radiator and intercooler still. Getting to point of buying an ECU and looking like may be going something else as link doesn't have enough inputs. Work has been awesome with first trip to Perth and now on the way to Darwin looking for a good result there.
  12. Mate runs his na+T auto no issues. Has a shift kit and torque converter from I think mv automatics. Good service, trans cooler and not too much power (235kw) thing is reliable
  13. What are you doing with the car? Drags, sprints, racing? A decent upgrade of dba 4000 rotors, good quality pads (endless, project mu, intima are all I have used), quality fluid and braided lines. All have held up to multiple big track days and street duties. No need for big fancy kits as some also require significant energy to come upto operating temp. Look at 350z caliper and rotor upgrade too. @Dose Pipe Sutututu comment on them and did a good write up.
  14. I've driven that one and it's a great deal and drives nice. The owner definitely treats it right on track. You would have gotten it for what you paid for this one too. Keen to see what you do to this one.
  15. That's the last time I'll see the 180sx. It's off to Victoria do keep an eye out for it down there.
  16. New whiteline rubber bushes, maybe some adjustable arms (rubber ends like hard race for road car)no need for Sway bar if correct springs or going to be fine tune for the track. A proper alignment with corner balancing and coilovers with spring rate for the right purpose and setting droop correctly.
  17. You could add a banjo fitting to go directly up and a 90 degree fitting with an adapter from aeroflow or speed flow. Run the brake line over the top of the ducting.
  18. Your new rig ticks that box 😁 Just let me prep it first 180sx looks weird without it's stickers
  19. Just need to find some sponsor dollars and we'd be good to go.
  20. Update time...... Been a crazy busy time and a bit of a change here. Sold my 370z Nismo as wasn't using it much and wanting a 86/brz so wife can have some fun at the track again also to help with funding the s15 build. As said last time booked a cruise to NZ. The place is great, drank lots of craft beer, eat food and visited some amazing places The plains of rohan Before we left I finally got an electrician booked and the shed now has power. Been so good being able to use it at night and not running things off a 20m extension lead. Got stuck in last weekend and reorganised it and cleaned up a lot of stuff. A few more things to tidy over time but really good to work on now. There's 13x 10a GPO, 3x 15a GPO, 4 high bay lights and 5 LED batons so will never have an issue seeing or powering tools. 437344198_7178721088892834_15829362501196293_n.mp4 Work has restarted on the s15. Removed the rear cradle so could pull the fuel tank and finish emptying the stale e85 thats now been sitting for almost 4 years 🤮 Cleaned it out and let it dry. Removed the old lift pump and have reinstalled a new lower pressure pierburg pump with all new hose and lowered the pump to get it nice and low in the sump of the tank. Also got a an old diff cover cleaned up, work has a soda blaster so made quick work of it. Going to put a 4.11 ratio diff in with a fresh rebuild thats been reshimmed for now before buying a good diff centre. And had a big change with going back to full time work. Opportunity came up to apply for a race mechanic job so applied and got it, been some big days so far but definitely enjoying it and getting to work on some cool stuff and with some great equipment. Learning a lot on proper car setup and suspension so will be valuable for the s15. I'll be part of the travelling team form next round too. This weekend will get the fuel tank and system in, need to buy a rollover valve and mount that. Get cradle in with the diff and axles then make a shopping list to buy to finish that off then start looking at cooling setup and plan intercooler pipe routing. Work will definitely be slow now on the car but will be to a higher standard. The 180sx hasn't sold so may be heading out to Morgan Park labour day weekend for a charity event to have some fun been almost 6 months since I've driven it so will be take time to get comfortable again.
  21. The blue and slate grey are nice. The new 86/brz is so much better than old one. So what turbo kit you going??
  22. Contact Jessestreeter and buy direct from Japan
  23. The Link is a great investment LONG TERM. ADD a WB02(pending ecu maybe able to wire direct to ecu), IAT sensor, 2 wire bosch knock sensor and MAC valve minimum. Tuning yourself with no experience is not a good idea, pay for the car to be tuned by someone that knows the software and platform. Unless you are willing to invest alot of time and money with guidance from an experienced person into learning its not worth having a go yourself and potentially destroying an engine or having multiple issues. Look at HP Academy, Evans tuning school and Link forum for more info or attending courses for 1 on 1 lessons (I did all this). I have been down this path and for me it was worth it at the time, I was limited with tuners available where I lived and enjoyed the learning but had a very good understanding mechanically and electrically of how everything worked together. I did work at a shop tuning for a short period and thats where I learnt more. I'd be talking with any local shops and going with what they recommend as you will need support over time and good sticking with the same tuner if they are highly recommended and experienced.
