Daymo's Back! - R32 RB25DET NEO
robbo_rb180 replied to DaymoR32's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Honestly nothing beats the nostalgia of driving 90's cars. They aren't perfect but I do enjoy them the same thing when we drive the HQ. Newer stuff is great but is a bit souless. -

yeah don't sell, I regretted selling my sil80 after a few weeks. At least I got to buy it back last week. -
Forums are better than Spacebook (s15 owner)
robbo_rb180 replied to Rockyy's topic in Introduce yourself
Welcome, Facenovel groups are the worst. Yeah NS was a big loss of all the s chassis information and the build threads. Good to see another long term owner, OEM+ seems to be the way to go with modding these days. -
something like 50% Tps, 3000 rpm and 5-6psi is roughly what I use in the Link so I don't fill it everytime I drive.

I have been wanting to use an AFM/MAF with a Haltech to see what can be achieved as tuning supercharged Gen 4 LS based stuff makes the drivability and economy pretty good using AFM and Map based VE

Thank you for sharing this info. Get those intake temps down and will see even more. Whats the difference in drivabilty? Currently deciding between GTX and G series -
ZF 8HP Conversion?
robbo_rb180 replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I saw on one of the HGT tuning facenovel pages someone has adapted a r33 gtr transfer case to one in the UK in what I think is a sierra. -
GOT SUM's RB34
robbo_rb180 replied to klutched's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
I've been emailing Decs from Mectric Motorsport and he said the Praetor PTC won't be available until mid next year ATM. Seen that Race Services have HGT in stock https://www.raceservice.com.au/product-category/dct-conversions/ but at that price I would rather wait as still issues with HGT. Rather support a local business/person with a history of doing good work. At the moment I'm going to give the getrag DCT/ZF a miss and go cd00* while support/products become more available. -
^^^^this Also a custom exhaust will sit a lot higher and nicer than a off shelf jap item. The Jap one will be cheaper then add freight, fitting and cost to go get the custom exhaust in the end.

GOT SUM's RB34

Good job on the render, can be a pain to do. Have you bought a controller yet for the gearbox? I've tried the ones mentioned but either out of stock or no replys. I'm about to start looking into an Emtron or syvecs as I think Whifbitz in the UK originally were using them for gearbox control. -
Brake Pads Users Ratings Guide
robbo_rb180 replied to Snowman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Nice review, looking forward to track tests. I've now driven a few cars with the endless ME20 pad. All Track only Very good initial bite from cold and super consistant for over 10 laps at Lakeside and 5-6 laps at Morgan Park. All cars were using dba standard replacement and either Gulf or Penrite 600f fluid -
how does it feel on the street? How much torque did it end up making? With that zf 8hp gearbox will be a weapon

Thoughts on this .. G35-1050 pulsar result
robbo_rb180 replied to Butters's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Something not right aa friend built and tuned a stagea with a stock rb25 (Hg and studs, dbw, e85) genuine g30 1050 at like 20psi did 550hp. I'd be checking there isn't any restrictions or leaks in intercooler or piping. Has the tuner been conservative with the timing? -
S13 Sprint/Time Attack Style Build
robbo_rb180 replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Motorsport Builds
Forgot are you extending rears to or fixing just doing wider wheels? Having a tow car sorted is the best makes it good for those long trips. -
RB25 Starting Issues, Possible The CAS

What is the condition of your battery as voltage may be dropping below arming/trigger setting. Adjust them if need be. Check that and if not the problem invest in a NZwiring trigger kit. Super easy to install and setup too. https://www.nzwiring.com/index.php/product/trigger-kit/ -
Just another option. Nothing is ever plug and play. Always something to wire in and most people don't have the skill/knowledge to undertake the job.
-
Haltech can control the auto gearbox now, its just the time it takes to program the logic and get it right. This is no small job as its something that most people have not done yet. On a mates r34 gt auto we just went with a nistune board flashed gtt firmware and have a adjusted it with no issues. There was a bit of wiring to do with diodes and adding for boost solenoid.

Almost too nice now to track it now...... So good you are getting all those little things done as makes it nicer and modern, just need a heap of warning lights and you will have that bmw feeling.

Rob's S Chassis track cars. Now with more s15 and less 180sx
robbo_rb180 replied to robbo_rb180's topic in Motorsport Builds
yeah mate all good just a bit of neck pain but safety gear did its job. Unfortunately no repair for the car as its bent and twisted both rails, kinked firewall and motor is gone. -
Abs disc for traction control
robbo_rb180 replied to Gareth87's topic in General Automotive Discussion
abs ring from a 180sx type X should fit but still need to remove a heap of teeth as generally too many for most ecu's. If got the equipment & skill better off making one with 6 or 8 teeth -

Engine in with new oil pump was a little bit better but still below factory specs. Don't want to risk stuffing a block and crank for the sake of it. Currently got EOI on the car as I have a new chassis that is already caged and suspension setup that I am starting assembly once shed is up. Also had a massive accident saturday at Lakeside Raceway and had my Getz written off so no racing for a while.
