Are tou saying i can use te commander to adjust the tps voltge? On what screen is that done?!?
-
Now that you mention it, In the PFC functions check screen, the IDL circle never lights up. Almost as if the car is never in a idle state. How does one know exactly what voltage it should be? will give .44v a go though. cheers edit:: How does one exactly set the voltage? i usually had my mechanic do it.
-
interesting....ill give that a go, thanks!

Hi Guys, Well after a few weeks it seems the idle has again started to become unstable. A few new symtoms which ill document for you now. I am able to se the idle as low or as high as i want with via the adjustable screw on the IAV. I was never able to do this previously as it would always idle above ~1500rpm regardless of the screw. This was fixed after replacing the Idle Control Regulator (Cold start Valve). While i had the plenum off i also had my starter motor reconditioned, as the car struggled to start when the car warmed up. Now a month down the track, it seems the problem is back, however slightly different. The car will idle fine but as soon as i turn the AC on the idle begins to hunt, and sometimes just drop and stall. If it does stall i cant fire it back up. It seems the starter motor begins to fail. It clicks but never fires. I sometimes have to leave it for 15min and then it will start fine. So strange! Ive also noticed that my Boost controller (Apexi AVCR) registers throttle on random occasions. I suspect this might be why it hunts? However I check my Power FC throttle voltage and it sits at around 0.5v-0.53v on idle, which is fine right? But only ~2.63v on WOT. Is this correct? Another strange thing ive noticed is that the ill set the idle on a really hot day, then on a cool day it hunts around. But if i set it on a cool day it idles really high when the day gets hot. is there no way to control this regardless of how hot it is? i miss the rumble of a rb @ 900rpm =[

Interesting read there patty. Fortunately i have yet to pay him anything. It looks like i might have to ask both Sean Hardy and Scott some hard questions. Will update you all soon.
-
Unfortunately his right, When you start making payments its kinda an admission of guilt and you forfit your right to take it to court.
-
Just spoke to scott from Speeding Fine Consultants. You explain your situation and he gives you his honest opinion about it. If its a decent case and you want to proceed, he will charge you $400-500 for a package that includes a script to read out in court as you represent yourself. But what i found amazing was his attention to detail about finding loop holes to get you off. Ive spoken to other lawyers like Sean Hardy http://www.trafficlaw.com.au/contact.html Michal Kuzilny http://mklawfirm.com.au/ And none of them have been as helpful as Scott! If other lawyers are telling you that you have no shot, give Scott a call and explain your situation. You might be suprisingly shocked that you actually have a very good case, like in my situation.

Hi Guys, Im in a Similar situation, Can you please forward the details of this Scott from speeding fine consultants? Thannk you

will do, Thanks guys. Will check back on friday after ive spoken to the 2nd engineer

I think what is complicating this excercise is the fact that im trying to do it down here in VIC. will keep you guys posted on whats happening as im seeing another engingeer

What about aftermarket turbos? is there a issue with that? Ive called a few placed in QLD and have secured a rwc agreement. The issue atm is sorting out a Mod Plate, just dont want to risk giving the car to the buyer then him running into issues in qld with the mod plate. From my understanding, any vehicle with outer state state rego cannot be defected at all. Left a message, hopefully ill hear something soon. Yeh it sure is a shame ive had this car since high school. but gota move on at some point. Recently posted the final tune in the RB30 dyno results section. Check it out.
-
Your saying if i just pulled up to the pits with my car and just filled out the paperwork, that all will be ok and away i go with QLD rego? seriously?
-
Unfortunately there are only 3 engineers in VIC that are authorised to do QLD mod plates. The one we are talking about now, Another whos still on holidays till the 20th of feb and the last is about 5 hours east of Victoria. Ill try to get the engineer to contact QLD transport. Hopefully that will sort it out. Either that or i can convince the seller to get it mod plated in QLD.
-
Thanks for that Martin, Whats the rule around aftermarket turbos? do i need a mod plate for that? The authorised QLD mod plater down here in VIC explained that because it is a aftermarket turbo it needs an emmision test =S But QLD transport say they dont care =S The problem at this stage is although QLD says they dont care, The engineer said they wont even look at it until there is a emissions test?
-
Im a little suspecious my self. I dont think this sounds quite right. I will call around a few places up in QLD to re-confirm. I have a feeling the guy down here in VIC dosnt have much of a clue about QLD regs. This is mine. update: after speaking to 3 workshops in qld, they explained that i do not need a mod plate because it is still a nissan "RB" engine. Thoughts?
-
No good guys, Ive been told they wont give a mod plate unless i also get a full emissions test. Te reasoning is behind using a aftermarket turbo. I wasnt aware it was emissions involved as well. I thought it was purely mechanical =[
-
Currently at a engineers down in VIC who is a authorised QLD mod plater. Willcheck back soon! Thank tou to the very detaile responses guys. Really appreciate it.

The buyer is a really good bloke, and basically just wants to know if the cars been modified to the extent that it cannot be registered anymore if the rego is transfered or cancelled. I dont understand the QLD RTA stuff but just dont want him left with a 1500kg tone of metal that cannot be driven anywhere. From what i understand, regardless of if its de-registered or the exisisting rego is transfered i need a mod plate. They seem to only cost like $200 in qld but there are a few shops in VIC who can do approved QLD mod plates. But they want close to 1-2k. What im really looking for is a contact someone knows in qld who deals with this stuff and is easy to deal with. Im more then happy to take care of the cost depending how expensive it is. But i understand even after the mod plate i still need a safety cert T_T In short, Can the vehicle be registered in qld. The following mods have been done. R34 GTT rb26/30 intercooler holes under battery tray reo bar slightly modified for front bar. bigger wheels 1000cc injectors, 2x 044 fuel pumps 3.5 straight pipe with muffler, no cats. screamer thats all that im aware of that may be a concern. The guy is meeting my quota and is a legit buyer. to many tyre kickers these days id be happy to just make this work and sell it off. I need a van for work =[

Ive never really not had insurance so i dont know what the process is. But dosnt he have to see a lawyer if he wnats that money from you?

Ill get onto that then. However im not 100% if the buyer will want to pay an extra $1-300 just to mod plate it. He might if he gets into trouble but at this stage i think the cheaper the better. i understand dodgy rwc aint cheap but im pretty sure its cheaper then engineering. if anyone has any contact details id really appreciate a "friendly" RWC guy. Inbox me if privacy is a concern. Cheers!
