Hey peeps got a 32(RB20) thats running like a sif, carrying on, surging and shit.... cant figure it out, it wont come on boost properly at all in 1st gear gets to about 4grand and starts surging, only does it sometimes in second, third excet.... also i'll be crusing in 5th on the free way, put the foot down to the floor... starts to spool up gets to about 140 and then just blows off by itself even know my foots on the gas, it dosent happen if i got the throttle half way down.... Now, i have a gtr top end out of a 32gtr sitting in my garage for a future project and i looked into it and found that some of the are the parts are the same for the rb26 and rb20 are..... i know for a fact that the gtr motor was running micky mouse at the time i pulled it out of the car, cause i took it for a spin (with the caved in roof, went hard... damn shame would of been a nice car)... so anyways i thought it had a miss, but after unplugging a coil at a time it got worse, (i replaced the coils anyways and checked the wiring and plugs... i replaced the AFM the black square thing that bolts on the top of the coill cover...(think its a dizzy?, correct me if i'm wrong). replaced that silver round thing on the front of the motor think its to do with the timing... replaced the plugs (ran horrible first time, forgot to gap them, after gapping them ran better but still like i sif). but injector cleaner in and octane booster but that made no difference. put a new gasket of the exhaust manifold, and had some small holes in the exhaust welded up, replaced some rubbers that looked a bit ratty, still a couple on there that have seen better days but i could feel and air getting out, I there any way i can do a pressure test with a a compressor or something, i tried reving it and seeing if i could feel any air escaping but i could tell cause of the clutch fan... i had a comp test and the motors getting tired but only 1 cylinder was just under the good soon the rest were just inside...Before this problem occurd the turbo blew up (was a HKS 28/35 or 33 i think) so got my mechanic to pull it off, he discovered that it had no water lines running through it only oil...(had the car for about 3 months at this stage and i was the first thing to go,) anyways it couldnt be recod so i had to buy a new one, found one a garret one(same turbo they use on the 911t's but its got nylon berrings the instead of metal ones), apparently the exact same just HKS dont make it anymore or something, had some braded hoses and stuff made up (my mechanic got it done at a gas joint by memory, had these new style out worked a treat. got the car running, started straight away no dramas at all, car made 197rwkws when i brought it (had major service, timing belt and dyno tune done a Electronic automotive, was making 160 before that... was bout 3 in the morning when we finished and cold as, let it warm up took it for a drive... was a weapon heaps quicker.. i have a HKS piggyback computer (FCON V) in it with a apexi dual stage boost control heaps of other goodies.. i'm thinking it might need a retune or something... but i dont see how thats the problem when it ran fine when the turbo was replaced, anyways any advice would be great cbf having sitting at a mechanics while he goes through all the shit i'v already replaced and get charged a f**k load til they find the problem.. cheers
  3. Yeah they are gtr ones yellow, umm ill try cleaning the cooler out, what plugs do you recomend i use and gapped to what measurement.?
  4. hey i got a problem with my 32, it runs like its dropped a coil real shit and unresponsive struggles to boost... now i'v changed the coils and unplugged one to check if it got worse or stayed the same but it got worse everytime. Changed the plugs, AFM the black square thing on top of the motor... i cant think of anything else.. i got biggerfuel pump and i can hear it running fine, put injector cleaner in it... still the same. the only other thing i can think of is i have a gtr fuel rail and injectors on my motor... and i know they have resistors wired to them is there any chance that one of the resistors are farrrked.?

  7. Hey guys im currently building an RB26 with an rb30 bottom. the motor is out of a 32. first things first. bottom end, is there any difference in the standard rb30 block and the turbo block? Can i use a crankshaft out of rb25/26 or does it have to be a rb30 one? anyone know how much hp a standard vlt crank can take? going to put forged pistons and conrods (probably CP pistons and spool rods anyone used these before and how much hp can they take?) The waterpump and oilpump are close to new so useing them shouldn't be a problem or is it better to replace them? i was also told that i should put a reducer in the oil line as top end will suck heaps of oil and starve the bottom end. thats about where my knowledge ends, i'm sure theres a heap more things that a required to do so im after some suggestions For the top end was gonna put a big set of cams and a 1000roller of some sort... obviously goona need a computer to piss off the AFM and shit so which computer would use recomend i use. If anyone has done this build before and has a list of stuff that had to be done/modified that would be helpfull.

  13. thanks, so when you remove the hicas what do you do with the hydrolic lines do you join them together or block them off? if im not using the hicas will i still need to connect up the computers, or can i use the same ones, or am i going to have to buy a set to install,

Hey people, need some help. i have a R32 gtst and i want to install a GTR diff in it, im planning on changing the whole rear end in one hit, now the problem is the gtr guards are pumped out more then the gtst ones so im presumeing it wont fit i.e tyres rubbing. is it possible to put a negertive camber kit so the tyres fit? Also there was a oil fillup inside the boot (presumeing its for the HICAS), my gtst does not have one of these instead i think you fill up the HICAS through the powersteering reservoiur, will i have to install this reservour into the boot of my car? are the computers for the gtr and gtst universal?

For sale, 2 X A/R 42 Garret Turbos, they came off a BNR32 GTR, turbos are in good condition no movement in the blades have all the standard oil and water line connections still attatched, heat shielding and actuators. the motor had done just over 100 000kms not sure if they have been recod but the car ran very well, http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tbroom/Turbos.htm <<< specs for the turbo sell as a set $350 ono single $200 ono. Hey, i got a 32 with a rb20, its got GTR injectors, fuelrail, cooler, recirulating valve on it. its got a HKS 33/45 turbo with a 3inch system and it runs 14psi everyday (can run 18 safely) any advice on which cam would be best suited to the car i was looking at the HKS 264s but im bit unsure any advice?
  25. Hey people, I just brought a 32-gtst and im having a problem with it. It seems to struggle to boost when u get to about 4250rpm, mainly in second gear not so much in first. Its due for a major service timeing belt and so on. could it be that its out of timing or the leads and plugs are dirty or worn. Also its got a recirculating valve on it if the were loose or not set up properly could that cause the problem.
