  1. If the saftey boost selanoid is removed you will automaticly boost the stock level with nothing holding back. If the selanoid is not hooked up corectly you will loose 3psi of boost from the stock setting. If you get a bleed valve you should be able to boost higher with just opening it up a little, if that doesnt work you might check the wastegate springs and see if they have proper spring pressure. Good luck!
  2. Please, can anyone give me the phone number or some way to get ahold of a rb26dett oil pump. I live in the united states and nobody here can get me one. I have a rb26dett in my 180sx and my oil pump broke a couple months back, the car has been down since. Any tip or direction to go would be greatly appreciated. Im not looking to spend the extra money for the nismo one, just need a stock replacement. Thanks.
  3. should be able to hit 12's without a problem cuz mine has a rb26dett and it runs 12.3 @ 118mph with upped boost but dont forget I have 205 street tires and no lsd.
  4. Im running the rb25 oil pan and there isnt a lip at the top of the piston track. Im wondering what caused the scroes and if its going to happen again. If the rings caused it my guess is that its gonna happen again.
  5. Fingernail wont catch but I can just slightly feel the texture difference. It doesnt seem like it will leak compression to me.
  6. I just pulled my rb26dett head and gave it the port and polish job. I was looking at the cylonder walls and noticed that rather than seeing the cross hatch from the hone all the way around Im seeing mild scores on the exhaust side going vertical. I examined them and they dont seem to be bad enough to cause power loss but I was wondering if this is normal to find in a r32 motor. Thanks.
  7. The biggest problem for my swap was the wiring. The diagrams that I have showed r32 and 180 have very different wiring setups. Once you find all the powers and grounds and get all the relays working you shouldnt have a problem. PS I would go with custom mounts rather than the r33 x member so the engine will sit down and back a little more.
  8. jim wolf is a 300zx tuner here in the US. These turbos are rebuilt by him with bigger trim. Ill have to get the specs.
  9. bbenny, Thats what I was running too. Now Im doing all the head work and milling the head. I know that higher compression means less boost on pump gas but with race gas and 20psi Im planning to have 500rwhp. High boost track setup only.
  10. My bad, I thought you were complaning about the flat curve. Usualy a steady climing curve is more desirable.
  11. Your turbo is too small. It takes more that you think out of the small t25 to keep up with the rb25's displacement and rpm's. This creates lots of extra heat going into your motor reguardless of the intercooler. May sound comfusing to you but I can almost gurantee its the problem. Why do you think the turbo makes boost so soon? Its too small.
  12. My friend has a couple of Jim Wolfe turbos laying around. Ill see what he wants for one or both.
  13. How much hp can I run in my rb26dett on the stock head gasket? Im from the US where there is no Skylines or parts for them or tech information. Please dont respond unless you know what your talking about. Thanks.
  14. If you think its a fuel probelm I will say its not from your fuel pump, its more like a bad sensor sending the ecu in LIMP mode. Which makes you run extra rich. Clean afm plug(s) and see if it makes a difference. It did for mine.
  15. Feul pump wont make you run any richer. You at least have a stock fuel pressure regulator that will take care of the pressure in the fuel rail. All the aftermarket fuel pump will do is make sure your engine wont out flow it under heavy injector duity.
  16. check for vacum leaks or test your afm(s) for correct signal.
  17. Funny you guys are on the subject cuz Im in the process of redoing my rb26 head. Im going through the head and porting and cleaning up the combustion chamber for better burn. Now, for the humps on the exhaust side, my theory on those is smooth them out as much as you can. If you were to run into a stud the worst that could happen is that you would have a very small exhaust leak through the stud itself (very unlikely). But it will pay nicely with power increased and better spool up too.
  18. try to find a friend with tires on rims that are smaller that 18's. Those cause more drag that you think and the low profile tires leave no give in the sidewalls, and that kills traction.
  19. Dont shoot me in the foot for this one cuz Im from the land of no Skylines, but what are N1 turbos? I hear you guys talking about them and I do have a rb26. Please help me out with this one like size, trim, who makes them, and if they are a direct bolt on and also $$ if possible. Thanks.
  20. I know how you feel cuz my cams seazed to my head which caused my timing belt to brake and then bent valves after that. The worst part of the whole thing is its a rb26dett. FREEK ACCIDENTS SUCK!!
  21. Generly when you shave tenths of the 60 ft there is more gained down the track on that run too, so had you finished the 2.0 run you might be nocking on 12's doors. Not too shaby.
  22. also explains why the rb25 has a much lower redline than the rb26.
  23. Its not that the turbo wont hold boost at a high rpm, its that the turbo is SUPERHEATING the air at high rpm which looses major hp and is also why people upgrade to a bigger turbo. And when you boost 12 psi then it drops down one or two its called boost spike, caused by long boost lines to the waste gates or inacurate boost controller.
