  1. Excellent news!
  2. Yep, would have thought the valving adjustments on the shocks would easily allow for this. There's generally a big difference between full soft and full hard.
  3. I remember when Galvsport opened his new workshop, he wouldn't let us do burnouts on the workshop floor prior to painting, worst
  4. Haha, it's under the car cover. Thanks anyway bud
  5. 2004-ish? 120,000 kms-ish?
  6. This. Depending on how many track days your doing, how serious you are and whether you do the work yourself it would mean booking the car in to your suspension shop before the track day to get springs swapped and a wheel alignment and then you would need to do it again after said track day. How many times a year do you want to do this and how much money do you want to spend at the shop? Of course it also comes down to whether you daily your car, how many kms you do on what sort of roads and how "hardcore" you are. Now bare in mind I work at a suspension workshop, our owner has 2 MX-5s and 3 sets of coilovers between them, yes we have played with spring rates but does he plan on constantly changing them before/after everytime he goes to the track? Hell no he doesn't.
  7. Well after buying the RX-8 I had $2 in the bank account before payday. Just paid rent and everything will be a little sad for the next fortnight I reckon haha
  8. On the baked beans and toast this week by the looks of things, fkn cars
  9. Thanks Charles, from the Gong as well! One of the reasons I wanted the RX-8 was because it has a great chassis. It's a fair bit more modern in design than an FC or an FD (or say a Skyline), lots of available aftermarket parts as they were sold locally in Japan, Australia and the USA and it should be made to be really good around corners. A nice set of coilovers, swaybars, strut braces, underbody bracing and eventually a cage should make it turn on a dime. Luckily for me I have the ECU, wiring and Microtech out of the Cosmo, between that and what's left in the RX-8 I don't imagine it will be too difficult (in the scheme of things) to get everything running nice. And putting a rotary into a car which already had a rotary in it obviously makes things a bit simpler again.
  10. Endless is quality. Looks like just the exhaust hangers are broken, what sort of exhaust is it running?
  11. Wouldn't have a clue for a 35. Someone as experienced as Galvsport with 35s I probably wouldn't even question TBH, I'd take their opinion and run with it.
  12. But also this. Surely Project Mu or someone similar does a good set up for cheaper.
  13. Why not get Galvsport to do it? If you need genuine parts I prefer to use Northside Nissan or amayama.com
  14. Nope, un-rego'd shell. Sure I might chuck the trade plates on it but ultimately I'd like to take it to the track.
  15. 2pm - 6pm sounds like a late lunch.
  16. Far ken lol
  17. As many of you are aware for a few years now I've been bitten by the rotary bug, they're not for everyone but I love 'em! So quite some time ago I purchased myself a JC Cosmo with a factory 20B in it, I had the motor built by local rotary gurus 'Rotomotion' (GT4202R, dowelled, bridgeported etc.) and it made a bunch of power which was great. 2 years ago at RaceWars 2014 my tailshaft let go and I destoryed the back of my gearbox, since then the Cosmo has not been driven The Cosmo was in pretty poor condition and the dream ever since has been to buy an RX-8, drop the 20B in and go racing, good chassis + good engine should mean a fast car! So last Saturday I finally got my hands on a car I wanted in my budget, picked up an un-registered RX-8 roller and thus my first proper motorsport build has begun! As you can see I purchased the car with no engine or box so that is alread taken care of for me, I now have the car in the corner of the workshop and I'll probably start stripping it down soon.
  18. Give Gav a cuddle for me
  19. There is a Valor gym down the road from work, need to get there to put some training on my Golduck
  20. Fkn servers. Team Valour? The red guys.
  21. Agreed, should have been a Commodore Coupe
  22. I've turned off AR while catching Pokemon, hasn't made the game run "better" but it does mean I don't have to move my phone around like an idiot all the time I just turn it on as I feel necessary. Still haven't done any fighting yet.
