Yo Dan all G I decided to call coz nobody knew shit about the address. Got it sorted, coz we're on the corner block it was under the other street name. Should be active now, modem showing up tomorrow gotta say that's pretty damn speedy lol Won't have another dieline, but will have the missus' WRX for a project car haha. Took a beating in the hailstorm the other night so the focus is gonna be entirely gofast (and handing of course haha)

Haha But if trolling....well, too bad for you then lol

Thanks, that's all I need to read. So long as you're a medical professional, you can claim LSD causes a synaptic release of monoamines like serotonin and dopamine, without needing to back a thing. If only it were really that easy.
-
Also on topic, why is it so seemingly difficult to conceive that perhaps the minds of those suffering from what we've deemed conditions may in fact be functioning 100% correctly in some cases, as per how they're 'wired'. Whilst this following hypothetical is almost certainly an impossibility, consider that perhaps someone's brain developed with such a specific genetic anomaly that the programming of their brain so to speak was wired to create the exact opposite feelings when serotonin binds to various receptors, and instead of receiving a pleasurable reward sensation, they receive negative. Like I said, almost certainly impossible....but still consider that we may be trying to fix something that ultimately isn't necessarily broken.

My 'drug' ingestion goes as far as caffeine, cannabis (w/ small amount of tobacco), and MDMA every 2-3 months. No alcohol, no LSD, and not interested/couldn't be arsed with anything else. In case you thought I was pulling shit out of the air, I'm referring at least to this: Blanket statements, speaking in absolutes, and not scientifically founded. Show me where you got the idea THC, CBD, LSD, or any classical psychedelic have appreciable binding affinities for SERT or DAT; moreso stronger than say, nicotine. I'll assume your chromosome claim is regarding use whilst pregnant, else it's absolutely unfounded and unproven. As a professional, you should be clear in your claims so as to not mislead the layman. Your intentions should not negate this. I won't digress any further.
-
That's not living in the past. Your parallels between classical serotonergic psychedelics and drugs of abuse like methylaphetamine and cocaine and the suggestion they're somehow in the same boat of general impact is what I take issue with, and to hold stubbornly to those beliefs without even humouring the idea they could be wrong isn't scientific, nor does it benefit the progression of medical science overall.

A fellow Bluelight moderator successfully kicked his polydrug abuse and addiction, including hard opiates, using Ibogaine. He has had no cravings or desires for opiates since. Experienced next to no PAWS (withdrawal).

I'm moving to Casey this weekend lol

Also go f**k yourself mate this is me trying to help people rather than keeping them in their same shitty place with limited options because your too f**king short sighted to see beyond the complete bullshit you repeat as fact. Sorry Christian, but Xf**kwitX is the reason I assume I'm being attacked. If that attitude is welcome, well he can go f**k himself and people can stick with the same round and round bullshit. Until the next miracle cure comes along, as it always does. I'll be outside the box, helping people Xf**kwitX would rather see in prison because they use drugs, somewhere they can share serious issues without being judged by said f**kwit either and actually receive help rather than abuse. Sorry again Christian, but that guy is a dead set piece of shit and I'm out.

Cool story mate, maybe I feel the same about you and the ludicrous parallels you draw between these things that are completely unfounded in science. Blow me.

Sorry mate, I'm reading too far into things given the general response I get to bringing the subjects up. It's my fault that if I don't quite understand the point of something said in response to my comments, I immediately assume the tone. There's no much to keep up with so to speak, given the only consistent back-and-forth conversation has been argumentative rather than an idea sharing discussion (where my assumptions of tone come from). Most of my input is an attempt to open people's minds a little and consider things they've otherwise dismissed based on the misinformed prejudice ingrained in society. To have such stubborn opposition to even the suggestion that maybe something that's been used for thousands of years but has only been prohibited for a matter of decades could actually exhibit positive effect is of no benefit to anyone, particularly those we seek to help with their issues. To deny even the possibility that something illicit could blow modern treatments well and truly out of the water is being decidedly ignorant and in the case of qualified professionals in the industry, offensive. For example: ketamine is only just being looked into as a treatment for depression....woooo congratuf**kinglations, I could've told you that years ago and not even from personal experience. Cannabis is showing more and more promising results in not only mental issues but physical ones, from mild to debilitating...again, how many people have been insisting this for how many years, and on what basis was it so goddamn difficult to perform studies to prove/disprove up until now? Mushrooms have been shown to prevent cluster headaches altogether...who need we point the finger at for this not being looked into earlier? Because I'm fairly sure those suffering from cluster headaches would readily tear that person limb from limb for denying them a cure to an ailment that's undoubtedly pushed them close to suicide. You know who's responsible; you can find them here. Those who claim to be educated professionals but have made good effort to ignore the progression of their chosen profession, sticking by their beliefs built on blatant misinformation that have been proven false, all because their ego is more valuable than the service they provide to people truly in need. It's disgusting, and I'm here to keep pushing the ideas they dislike while providing more factual evidence to support it than they can ignore, until such time as someone appropriate tells me to shut up and leave (yourself haha). It seems public outcry is the only way to make progress on issues buried too deep within the pockets of the selfish bastards keeping these things illegal; this is a small part of my contribution to helping those society has turned their backs on. Given I've probably all but killed any real interest in these threads the moment I've posted in them, might as well just share my other 'community'. http://www.bluelight.org/vb/forum.php The above website is an online community built around harm reduction/minimisation from the use of recreational drugs. They have some very good sub-forums devoted to Mental Health, not necessarily anything to do with drug use. Hell, there's whole sections devoted to sober life for those who've overcome their issues or addiction. If you want to learn actual facts about recreational drugs and their effects, this is where to go. If you want to learn about their potential for psychological healing or therapy, again Bluelight is the place to go. If you believe cannabis is explicitly destructive or that LSD will melt your brain, or that mental/emotional disorders are explicitely due to imbalanced brain chemistry which can be fixed with drugs (not what Terry does, I believe his methods likely have merit), and you wish to remain misinformed on these claims, Bluelight might be a reeeeaaaallllly big thorn in your side lol

I butchered my post a million times, there was supposed to be something in there though, as I've come to realise, any actual input I give is quite obviously overlooked by the vast majority or poked at by some. The remains of my attempted post above were put in to show that I'm not pulling shit out of my ass completely and I'm trying to break down the stigma attached to things I've mentioned in the hopes that maybe someone takes my posts seriously. Also, I'm unsure why you've mentioned Beyondblue. I'm not depressed, and if I did have anything I needed to discuss I've got a much much larger and more understanding/less judgemental/open minded community to discuss it with. They may be for the large part a bunch of misguided drug users, but they're some of the most honest and sincere people I've come to know. I'm more than happy to piss off if my 'input' thus far is rubbing some the wrong way. I'm not the one looking for help; I'm merely trying to provide it in a way nobody else is going to touch on.

I find it amusing that these compounds were historically used for therapeutic purposes of sorts, compared to nowadays where everyone is seemingly led to believe they're somehow dangerous....I mean the stuff is practically the definition of non-toxic. Either compound would be incredibly difficult to overdose on or even cause any kind of physical harm.

Replying in the therapy thread -
The R copped it. Was on the crapper when it started, at first thought shit was blowing around on the roof until it sounded like tiles were being hit with a hammer. Raced to the front door, stood there for a good 10 sec to decide whether I risked being belted myself by the occasional almost tennis ball sized stone coming down....copped a few decent hits to the head/back of my hand as I ran out haha. Should've just let it get smashed, damage was already done. Surprisingly not as bad as I expected, actually a little disappointing given it's an insurance claim regardless. Girlfriend's WRX wasn't so lucky.

Not legal so much, though it's slowly making way and being trialled clinically. Ultimately like MDMA in PTSD therapy, it's merely a tool - everything comes down to (mind)set and setting (environment), and perhaps the right therapist to work with depending on your goals or issue. -

Not quite; more to do with they way many of them alter the perspective in which you see things about yourself and the world around you. They can allow you to assess certain hurdles you may be facing emotionally and see them in a light you were otherwise unable to, or certain aspects of your personality you may wish to change. Also for things like easing end-of-life anxiety in terminally ill patients - mushrooms give an overwhelming sensation of understanding that your spirit/soul/being or whatever you'd like to call it is not tied to your physical body and that when you die you simply dissipate back into the energy of the universe. That kinda crazy sounding stuff, but it really feels absolutely real and true at the time, and I do believe it would greatly assist the emotional state of patients willing to give it a try. I really hope you don't 'switch off' to things like the above, given the overwhelming anecdotal evidence as well as the potential for helping many desperate people. But anyway, this is definitely off topic with meditation. If you'd actually like to reply Terry (or anyone), chuck it in the Therapy thread perhaps. I'm happy to keep to mature civil discussion, and will respect your opinion even if I really disagree with it. -

Would it annoy anyone if I threw in meditative/introspective mindstates whilst under the influence of traditional psychedelics/psychoactives? It actually may be off topic and more suited to the therapy thread. (also as a note, if my repeated introduction of psychedelics in these threads does annoy, your priorities in the assistance of others and their emotional obstacles include far too much prejudice. I don't wish to cause further arguments is all) -
I was going to say the same thing, though I'm not sure whether Phenibut could be considered in the same category of substance as plain old GABA. Personally I don't think Phenibut is a good idea due to the addiction potential (it's really effective, and unfortunately those whom it will help the most may be more likely to turn to substance use as a bandaid) as well as the subsequent withdrawals if you find yourself in that boat. I've read from many different people it's a very undesirable withdrawal and tapering is recommended for those who've become dependant, however going cold turkey won't necessarily do any harm (it won't be fun though).
-
Interesting point. I think there's little harm here, but yeah you'd be correct I'd think. I reckon a more anonymous forum would be better, where nobody knows who terry is. I'd invite him over to the forum I take part in as they have many sections for just these purposes, however I don't think he'd like the other members or environment in general haha
-
Not mad haha, don't have the time to get into it it's the kinda thing I'd jump on the chance to tag along with a mate on a hunt and use their stuff. Otherwise I like all your other points.

The possessor's intended use for it, or a device that has absolutely no other use but to end life and/or inflict harm.

Good to know my kitchen is literally full of weapons then.

Father has a couple of rifles. From what I understand you need to have written permission to use someone's property for pest control or target shooting, and/or be a member of a local gun club as well as attending regular meets in order to have your firearms* registered, though I don't believe this is required to have your licence. I mean you can't use your licence without a firearm, and in theory that firearm MUST be registered to someone. In the US at least, I'm not sure any kind of psych evaluation will help too much; far too many firearms in circulation already. Too easy to get hold of one without going through the proper legal channels... But that's merely based on my personal presumptions. Personally, I quite enjoyed hunting for the purpose of pest control (feral goats and PIGS...f**king wordfilter). Target shooting was fun too, but I wasn't up for something competitive so it gets boring very quickly. *I use the word firearm, because it's not a weapon until in the hands of someone intending to inflict harm or death upon another living creature... And even then, personally I consider a "weapon" as something used to inflict this upon another human being. Similarly a knife is a tool until used as a weapon.
