  1. FRONT PIPE NOW DEEMED USELESS AS IT'S A 2.5" FLANGE WELDED TO A 3" OR 3.5" PIPE. FAIL. Everything else still available.
  2. I think I heard from someone that even carbon bonnets aren't legal as they haven't been "safety tested" etc...but it could have been something else. Phil, don't kid yourself. What ISN'T illegal these days? oh wait, you're from QLD...nevermind, do whatever you like - just don't forget the modplate
  3. hahaha, well 20psi through a stock internal RB25 will be all we'll see lol...so my 740cc will be fine
  4. Lose power or hit flat spot before you get it to ping.
  5. Exactly. Haven't plenty of people including Trent (STATUS) mentioned you won't gain any more power past a certain point of ign timing on an E85 mix anyway? If you're running it in a street car, particularly a daily like mine, conservative tuning is the way to go. Go close to the edge with 98 mix, then back off the timing (particularly up top) and add a touch of fuel. Would rather feel the torque from E85 than see what kind of top end figure I can pull.
  6. e-something, wideband, 2 ethanol maps. maybe even 3.
  7. It may or may not have been a rhetorical question Steve, I can see the point he was making if it was rhetorical
  8. Plugs will foul. Big deal. If you're running E85 and willing to risk it without a wideband, good for you. The money you saved on not covering the base with the wideband will come in handy when you buy new plugs so often. Keep in mind, Caltex did NOT intend for people to be running this fuel in anything other than a flex fuel taxi. The flex fuel cars have an ethanol content sensor that tells the ECU how much % ethanol there is, and adjusts fuel and ign maps accordingly. Since we don't run this, we need to adjust ourselves. Get a map made on E70, as well as a map made on E85. Watch the WIDEBAND YOU PURCHASED when you drive off from the station. Watch the AFR's and work out in your head (should be simple) what % you just filled up with. Swap map if need be. Hell, cover ALL bases and have 3 maps made, E70, E77.5, E85.
  9. lol sorry...I'd offer like 2.5k (which still isn't fair and you wouldn't accept) but I couldn't possibly afford that even if I managed to sell my GTR rims fark lol These goddam shitty tyres I'm running now spin WAY too easily with my newfound power
  10. Tested by another member not to be the case. Running E70 on an E85 map will cause it to run rich enough to negate the "drop in ron". Running E85 on E70 map shouldn't cause detonation unless it was a REALLY hot day. Just get a wideband and keep an eye on it when you fill up.
  11. I've not been past Kambah to have a looky, but Pat checked out Nicholls (northside servo) not long ago, and they said there was an engineer out there checking out the pumps to make sure it'll be all good.
  12. awesome news for you GC boys! price is a little shithouse though lol, but ehh.
  13. in before overnight parts from japan
  14. Also put the best condition compliance CAT you can get your hands on in there.
  15. hahahaha my suggestion was in no way serious I'd hate to think what kind of distorted readings the AFM would get when placed directly in front of the turbo inlet anyway.
  16. hell naw it won't suck closed lol. 7psi is nothing
  17. This reminds me, my car runs out of rego today....I best go down to the carpark and swap the sticker rofl
  18. lol ^ yeah what he said, it's very rare you'll have issues with minor modifications like this as long as you don't draw attention to yourself. Piss a cop off and expect him to throw the book at you. Don't do anything stupid and be polite if you get police attention, and you'll get away with a lot of things. I always like to point out that I got around for quite some time with no front number plate. like 8 months. also all my windows had 5% tint (could NOT see inside at any time). ALSO had the HID's. the ONLY time I got any attention at all, was when I dropped a friend off for her formal. Vehicle inspectors in the carpark just after dropoff asked why I had no front plate and let me off with a verbal warning. I can also say now that the other week I was pulled up for doing "a bit more" than 90 in an 80 zone. Was very polite and honest with the officer, he let me off. didn't even get "I'm going to give you a warning" or anything, just told me to be safe and slow down. Attitude goes a long way, as well as respect. Don't be a douchebag and respect police officers, and you shouldn't ever have any issues. I'm yet to cop anything for my car's appearance etc
  19. how about this: 3" silicon joiner. Straight from front of turbo to AFM. No filter. There. lol.
  20. exactly. "Seat of the pants" dyno is the one that matters. If it feels quick and responsive, and you enjoy driving it, then that's what you paid for. Top end power is just a number. Peak power is always very close to redline on a stock setup. How often are you there? Depending on tune, you can have a very responsive car but effectively very low peak power. An example will be my GTS-T come Friday. Currently it's making 284.9rwkw on 15psi. I have swapped the actuator, so I will be getting it retuned on 17/18psi on Friday. I have asked the tuner to go easy up the top of the rev range, and mainly tune for response and torque when the boost comes on...I told him that I don't give two shits if it makes the exact same peak power, it's all about how it feels when it comes on and sticks me to the seat
  21. I'd honestly just get a second opinion on the dyno...get 2 or so runs on a completely different dyno by another reputable workshop just to see power output. I reckon it's just a low reading dyno.
  22. I *think* I'm running 6000k. They're blinding, and I've never had any police issues.
