lol word filter strikes again! Might have to relocate Friday night meets to Kingston foreshore so the 33s have somewhere to moor
-
Haha, oh don't worry - I was sitting there for a while trying to come up with something to take the piss out of the 33's too. You know, can't go letting you feel too bad
-
Wait, isn't that the norm for 32 owners and has been for quite some time?

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/it-all-seems-like-fun-and-games-and-a-cheap-25-pill-but-its-not-worth-it/news-story/5e8ca9c8f8045fffd919da2a91edb039 Prime example of how misinformation spreads like wildfire. MDMA is not responsible for what happened to this guy, presuming it was just 'one pill'. The current state of prohibition is responsible for the unknown contents of that pill that caused him harm, and he is responsible for blindly trusting a complete stranger and ingesting a pill he had no idea what it contained. Short of an extremely rare adverse reaction like an allergy, MDMA has not been shown to cause damage unless abused.

Midnight purple 33 GT-R in Bruce around lunchtime earlier. I was on the pushbike - gave a wave and sorta received one of those "ummm....hi" waves back haha

Hey and welcome! Surprised this thread isn't 5 pages long already On a serious note, I know the feels re the SL55. A guy I work with has an older model I've taken for a spin. It ain't quite stock right now (something like 550hp at the wheels) and he's throwing some more money at it yet! Thing oddly didn't feel all that fast to me....until you look at the speedo

Everywhere has their stories I guess haha, just funny when you hear ones so very different to your own.

I think the thing I REALLY f**king hate about Dickson is that they either genuinely have no f**king idea of the rules, regulations, and standards they're supposedly enforcing, or on the occasions they DO seem to know what they're talking about, they do it in such a way that screams "I'm a deadset piece of shit human being", such as finding completely different issues on a reinspection (NOT on the original report) that couldn't possibly have been missed the first time around unless they were blazed as all f**k. And even then. I realise the initial inspection is only valid for 28/30 days or whatever. Doesn't change the fact they're either useless at their job as demonstrated in the initial inspection, or downright f**king assholes that deserve all the bad rep they get, twenty times over.

RAY told him he needed different tyres the second time round, or Dickson told him he needed different tyres after Ray had certified the setup with the flares? Sounds strange, but nothing far fetched.....though ultimately if it stacks up how I'm reading it (further labour costs invoiced due to further inspections required, which wouldn't have been necessary if the tyre issue was picked up on at the same time as the guards), your mate is a bit silly for just accepting that situation. To be honest, I've found myself in a similar situation where I explicitly instructed the workshop to CALL ME if a particular bit of work was required on the vehicle, due to the potential costs involved in the work done if it were required and the fact I could do it myself for free (albeit with more blood). Well, as expected, they didn't call me before jumping in and doing the work. After some words, mostly around the fact I'd never given authority for the work to go ahead (there was no part on the dropoff sheet/work instructions to sign this authority over without prior contact, not that I would), I had a large discount applied to the labour costs. Obviously I had no problem paying for the parts. Wow. What a rambling digression. Exhaustion is sending me bonkers this arvo.

Doesn't sound right to me. Not at all. Without knowing more details, I'd say it's more likely that whomever you spoke to was somehow directly responsibly for each 'f**k up', if my personal experience is anything to go by.

As above. Ray Spence from Canberra Motor Works in Mitchell is generally the go-to guy, particularly if you want Dickson to just stfu and accept the certification without giving you more shit (that being said, they'll still find something...). I was forced to take my R33 through Dickson, who were so kind to inform me that my coilovers and other suspension bits needed to be certified. When I took it to Ray to do this certification, I learned what's likely one of the reasons Dickson can't really question certificates issued by him - every single non-standard part on the car would be certified and added to the certificate, even if it didn't explicitly require it. He's very thorough, even certified the stock 17" GT-R rims and my deep dish steering wheel haha. I did encounter a few hiccups along the way - while my ride height was above requirement, the distance between hub/lip and the guards wasn't adequate so technically he couldn't complete the certificate until I went all off-road 4WD spec on the thing lol. Dickson were also pricks by taking advantage of the fact my initial inspection report had expired (over 30 days) and found a few other things they must've glazed over the first time, like not having child restraint mounting points fitted, and decided I needed to have them installed AND ADDED TO THE f**kING CERTIFICATE......$1000 later for those plus certification. So yeah, expect it to be a bit of a costly endeavour, but if you go through Ray you should in theory never have issues with those modifications again in future. I can't give you an accurate figure for how much the certification itself cost, as I had other expenses along the way (like borrowing a stock exhaust and seats, plus having those f**king mounting points made up), but all up from the point I was advised I needed the certificate to the point I could get the thing registered again, it cost about $2700.

Yeah, definitely the simpler option going with a brand new car...not very much more expensive than the riceline was either haha This won't stay stock for too long though...but still gonna wait til at least next Sept before I start risking warranty with tunes and the likes heh

"Fixed Your Post" haha Haven't had a Skyline since early 2013 when I hit a kangaroo, decided I'd had enough of throwing money at the thing, sold it as is, and bought a CBR600RR (which I let go to a mate beginning of this year for use as a full-time track bike haha). Now I've just got the Golf. Doesn't make as much noise as the R33, but goes faster and isn't my problem when things break for no good reason haha

Thanks for the link interesting read. Fits in with how I feel about addiction for the most part.
-
Haha yeah sleep deprivation and meth/crack will do that unfortunately

No harm testing the waters first before going down that much more expensive route

Unnecessary comment was unnecessary, no?

"I'd like to think" followed by "I'm not so sure" haha He's a pharmacist - one would like to think someone with tertiary qualifications in the field could provide more accurate information than myself - someone with ~3 years of reading forums and dabbling - could provide. I'm not so sure he can (or perhaps I should say "will"), though. I get the impression he's had a negative second-hand experience with some of the substances in question, skewing his views from what he knows to be correct of these drugs, to what his emotions tell him. I get this impression from a few things he said in his OP.

Also this: http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/nov/09/theres-nothing-like-poverty-to-make-a-serious-drug-problem-stick Before anyone goes asking where my tinfoil hat is, consider the gloriously honest moves we've seen recently from our overlords like the TPP. The interests of society, particularly those areas these drugs are a 'problem', are not synonymous with the interests of our government.

It's possible, though it really depends on what your definition of those things are. Visual hallucinations are generally grouped into 2 categories: OEVs (Open-Eye Visuals) or CEVs (Closed-Eye Visuals). You could probably define a third as you described, but personally I'd group them with CEVs. They'd be lucid dreams in a way, only you're not in any way asleep. They'd just be entirely in your mind's eye. But, yes that kinda stuff isn't too uncommon. I personally haven't really experienced it, but I think it would have a LOT to do with set/setting (mindset/environment). DMT is both one of the most intense psychedelics, but also one of the kindest in my experience. The fact it's scheduled the same as heroin in Australia says a lot about how f**king backwards our drug laws are; DMT is [theorised to be] produced by the mammalian pineal gland for f**ks sake, and found in appreciable quantities in a number of native Australian flora. For the sake of argument (ESPECIALLY the one presented in this thread), DMT is practically harmless. Unless you're a bloody clown - the same kinda clown who'd lose his shit when drunk and do something stupid - DMT will not bring you to any physical harm, either by toxicity (non-toxic in any remotely appreciable dose) or by inebriation (you're effectively immobilised during the peak; moving will not be a priority, nor will it be practical haha). I'm honestly surprised Terry hasn't chimed back in here. I'd like to think he'd possess the most factually accurate information on these things...I'm not so sure.

I didn't even know it was last weekend until some time Friday

Personally, I've never experienced the kind of hallucinations the layperson associates with hallucinogens like LSD, DMT, mushrooms, etc. Like the whole seeing things that are absolutely not there, like elephants haha. Or the wall fully melting, or my immediate reality dissolving. The most I've 'seen' is having geometric fractal patterns wash over my whole vision, distorting everything I see into a colourful twisted mess; unfortunately no machine elves or 'common' DMT phenomena. While visuals are one aspect of tripping I enjoy greatly, I still enjoy most other aspects equally - like the overwhelming understanding and realisation (of something, haha), the awe and wonder, the HOLY SHIT THIS IS INCREDIBLE WOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW. Generally DMT slaps me hard enough that opening my eyes doesn't really cross my mind, and it's more laying there for 10-15 minutes in relative bliss.

Heroin and opiates in general I don't have any interest in touching personally. I also believe heroin to be one of the drugs that shouldn't ever be derestricted as it has far too high abuse potential leading to nasty dependence. Meth also goes in this category imo. They have too high impact on society when abused, which is somewhat inevitable.
