Spotted 3 33s parked near the terminus hotel strath-asuming they belonged to the lads under the porch at the Vic--looked tidy guys.

Good and bad news...if u need parts too I have all the large dash vents and center consol and dash and a few other interior bits from a series 1.5 laying around here.. Hope the bastards get caught and get the book thrown at them.

Gtr34 Stock Parts!
elir32 replied to Sunkist's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Don't mean to hijack ya thread--I searched ages to find one and rather than pay over 1500$ from a wrecker you can get them of Japanese auctions for less than half the price... -
Those wheel clamp type locks the police use for impounding your car should be made available to the public--I'm sure one of them would really slow a thief down and be a deterrent and be easy to carry on your boot etc and fit to your car overnight?I haven't looked closely at one but from what iv seen they'd be a deterrent--but that said if someone wants something bad enough they usually find a way of getting it..alternatively matty with his crossbow on speed dial

Really selling this job...People normally like to work for someone when they know what their job is rather than a secret. Your after a timber delivery boy with a hr license who wants an apprenticeship in working on street imports in a small shed that can't be expensive, and speaks good english? Bit confusing..

I could be wrong-I thought that was the offence---but he was down to 1 point got done-then never received the last demerit so inquired and was told all was okay and he was okay to keep driving-then obviously got a full license not Long after... I dunno what gets u demerit points these days-the fines go up all the time and the people who drive nice cars get picked on and the kids hanging out of the windows im commies on cut springs doing skids on every corner get nothing..will see how the appeal goes...be interested to hear if any others have a successful appeal etc.
-
Yeah he has taken that path-the company he works for has a lawyer with plenty of experience dealing with road offence related issues and he is using them.-but I can tell you it's not cheap. The police are very very strict on semi trailer and road train drivers-and the stories he has told me about the pettiness of some of the fines and requests of the police is pretty unreal..eg. If you write "sa" instead of south Australia on your logbook they kick up a fuss-forgetting to put your address on the front of it aswell as your name...those sorts of things---pretty sure the sa pol badge says "sa" not "south australia". Hopefully a lawyer can keep him on full license rather than ps as one screw up-and he's out for a year...bit of a risk in the transport industry.

The offence in question was failure to show a p plate after it had fallen down-I think this is what my brother said it was,-it was considered a breach of his p plate conditions-he never received his demerits and had rung and inquired and was told it was all good and nothing to worry about and he was fine to continue driving-he then went on to get his hr license and full license and also road train and has a clean slate-now they want to take it for 6 months--I think it was failure to show p plate-or another offence it was for--but whatever offence it was,no longer receives demerits any more as it's only fined not demerrited... So to me it all seems way over the top and had he lost it at the right time he wouldnt of taken loans out etc and have a road train job that requires his license,..,bit rough
-
Thats pretty much what the people at regency said, shows how incapable our government is...maybe they should of picked up on this years ago--they gave my brother a f**king road train license a year ago-a year and half after he supposedly was meant to be given 6 months---surely if "he shouldnt be driving" they shouldn't of trusted him with a road train license...guess te government would like to hand out dole money instead for those who won't be working amymore... I hope something becomes of the class action or maybe someone in high places can get up and make a scene..
-
Agreed-you can only blame yourself for the offense--I think it's a bit harsh to penalize one 2 and a half years later when they have taken out loans etc and have a job requiring their license. Had they penalized him at the time he wouldnt of been in such a predicament where his livelihood Relys on his license--and also to mention no driving offences since then. I'm sure there has to be a way out of this?doesn't seem right to me at all.

My brother received a letter in the mail yesterday to inform him that due to a glitch in the governments computer system loss of demerits had not been recorded over the last few years and that he was supposed to of have lost his license two and a half years ago for a 6 month period. He is now been told to hand it in at the end of this month and lose it for 6 months. My understanding is that they have fixed their glitch and many people are facing loss of license from offences etc from up to 3 years ago. This is the first I have heard of it-my brother said it was on the news also-- Has anyone else had this happen to them and is there a way out?it does not seem right at alll.. For example my brother drives road trains and has loans to pay and expenses of life--no license = no job = no money = bankrupt(can't meet loan repayments etc) 2-Half years ago he didnt have this job and responsibilities to meet like he does now--surely the government can't take his license now due to their mistake when it's going to affect ones life in such a way.. Anyone have the same prOblem-or know more about it--?and if apealling is any use? I believe he intends to take it as far as he can and is seeking legal advice but just wondering if anyone has anything to add and advice?! Thanks

Have heard good things about "dents away" google them-they come to you and aren't too bad priced-from What iv been told.
-
Ah fair enough- mines not from a vspec2 so it doesn't have the button- so far the button is added-in the middle of inserting RCA plug and solderin it in and disabling the jap message-- there's not a lot of room for error in there. I have touchscreen DVD player and nav and what not- but figured I would try make use of the function being there--reverse cam/DVD/ whatever i send to it.. Did u get exhaust and intake sensors wired up? I wired my intake to AMB sensor just to give the reading rather than display a 0 reading. Accidentally wired exhaust to AMB first and it was reading between 570 degrees to 610 degrees whereas the intake displays etwren 0-15 depending what the temp it outside--the mfd must use the signal differently as the same signal gives two readings.. Interested in purchasing the two sensors and adding them on also. I hear they aren't cheap!!

Thanks for that- I had a search and couldnt find anything- the best i got was a PDF say legal requirements but nothing specific to r34. And yes I know that any cheek they will defect ya---this is a case of a 34 having it's coilovers put back in after an inspection and the owner wants to bump them up to the correct ride height as they are well below it currently--just to take some of the attention away. Also JRM I noticed you has commented in a thread about mfd installation to gtt-I'm Asuming u did this to yours? Did u have the tv button on yours? I'm in the middle of putting that into mine at the moment-not to keen on soldering the pins on the board to disable the Japanese message-

Can anyone tell me where to find on the world wide web the ride heights for r34 that regency allow? Wana keep the boys In blue happy with the height Thanks

All type won't touch it unless tha car has a roof hole from Factory already. But sunroofcity can Instal a 700 for around 2650$-- equivalent to what the factory one was-and gaurenteed. They can fit a second hand one but don't like doing it and won't warranty it.. Looks like brand new is the way to go rather than second hand. Bit of a price to pay--I'm Gunna want a good tan on my left arm if I get one lol
-
Yeah it was the silver one-looked like he was only 17-18. I had a chuckle-my brothers car went thru a couple hours earlier to get off defect and then I saw the plates and thought "he's asking for one" sounded healthy tho! Spotted about 4 33s in bridge over the last few days--pt Augusta and bridge are meant to be he highest car theft towns in sa so id be keeping a very close eye on them If I was the owner.
-
Thanks-might give them a call and speak to them also. Might be a bit of a waste of time and money but would be nice to have one! I might pass up on the convertible option thanks-not personally a fan of convertibles-think that'd ruin my 34 !
-
Khali. Do you know of any of their prices and work quality...I'm interested in prices and quality of the work- mainly-not sure if il go ahead with it but weighing my options up. I'm also not keen on getting my roof cut up---unless I know ita by someone who knows what they are doing--don't wana get screwed over by some noob with an angle grinder. Although a sunroof would really go well on my car !
-
Will do that-I'm asuming they are for installation rather than a supplier. Madaz-u have one you don't use-spare or fitted?the other half has a chaser and she has a sunroof-when I drive it I use it-could just be cos its the novelty of having one-and the fact I barley get given the keys lol
-
Ok so I saw a friends 34 4door with a sunroof and kinda made me want one too- so I'm interested in finding out where to go/who to see for installation-- and if second hand factory OEM is the way to go or if you can get the aftermarket equivalent which Is good quality? I don't want a dodgy backyard job if I go ahead- I want it done properly- from what iv read if they aren't installed properly u have rust issues later on down the track etc. Had a look on here and I couldn't find much relating to places to go and people doing an installation. So if any one has suggestions and knows what the rough cost is I'd be interested to know- I'm asuming if I were To go OEM I'd need a four door rooflining with sunroof hole and the sunroof and electric components-I believe it's not as simple as punching a hole in my existing lining and putting in the sunroof? Are there any other brands that are of good quality also and automitic as apposed to manual etc... Any information would be a help. Cheers

Spotted r33 in Murray bridge with the plates "copsb 8". Ur game driving around with those plates especially in bridge.

Installed mine this week-- thanks very much for the above info everyone!!! i mistakenly connected pin 46 instead of 45 to the AMB to show AMB intake instead of nothing and by using amb into 46 being exhaust temp it shows a reading of 500-610 range according to temp for exhasut temp. i then added pin 45 too and has a AMB temp for intake and also an exhasut temp reading-- now i know this isnt the real temp for either but it shows something rather than nothing. Also interseting to note the mfd must use te signal sent from the sensor and do something wht it to present its reading----for example i had the AMB reading 8 degrees through intake, and while wired to exhaust it read about 580 degrees... so the samesignal sent by the sensor is interpreted differently by the mfd. I know having these wired up isnt the correct plg so incorrect temp readign, but at least it isnt showing nothing anymore
