  1. 5k service + fuel filter (which I i'm pretty sure has been there since factory ) Filter was a bitch! CHanged oil to Nulon 10-40 fully synthetic, seems to be revving much more freely. IT's having a lot of trouble holding traction, mind you it is damp. I'll have to wait until it's dry for a proper test. Rear upper camber arms have arrived also, will put them in soon.
  2. Mine is either open or closed, no in between option. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to rig up though.
  3. Yup Varex is the go, I just got mine installed a month ago. It doesn't block airflow like ecv it redirects it, so there's not a huge power reduction when the valve is closed. I use it at least once or twice a day. When I come home late so as not to blast neighbours, when I have other people in the back and want to have a conversation, when cops are round etc. And when I want to have some fun.....open the valve, switch to high boost and foot to the floor. I've got a 3" stainless turbo back with high flow metal cat, no mid muffler. And it actually sounds really good too, no drone and it's got a nice low pitch growl. Do it
  4. That thing is diggity dope!
  5. Not really that worried, was just a habit of mine and I was curious to find out which would be better. Besides I guess the quicker it wears out, the sooner I will be contemplating a manual conversion.
  6. What about using the tiptronic function all the time. Is that more likely shorten the gearbox's life?
  7. Yeah I was wondering about that, I thought that it could possibly cause more wear changing from neutral to drive more often than nescesary. Alright I guess I'll leave it in drive from now on. Cheers
  8. Just wondering about something that I do whilst driving an auto. When I'm stopped at the lights, or somewhere for for an extended period, I change in to neutral. I have always done this with autos, because I thought that it would cause less wear on the box and breaks than to keep it in drive whilst stopped. However I've never done any research to prove this theory. Does anyone know if this would be true, would it make any difference? What do other people do? Cheers, Dave-
  9. @6:15 -steers with one hand whilst flying down the mega-straight at top speed!!!
  10. 7k of insurer's money later........
  11. Spotted a bayside blue s2 c34 on Gipp st in the Valley on Friday night. Said g'day as I drove past, looked pretty stock. I thought that the only other one in queensland belinged to greenghost (myles). I guess not everyone who ownes one is on SAU aye
  12. installed profec b 2 and wound up boost to 12psi. Wow! Makes me want to hi flow it, just to see what it would be like above 14
  13. just got an oval Varex muffler fitted. 3" turbo back with cannon was just too loud for my GF and nieghbours, but I didn't wanna sacrfice too much flow with mid mufflers etc. Sounds great wide open, it's a bit quieter than the old cannon too. And closed its like
  14. o2 sensor, if it hasn't been replaced yet
  15. I would say it would depend what kind of fun you want to have when you're going round a corner ;-) I have a RWD and the only downfall is that suspension parts are harder to come by. I used to have a wrx wagon, but I decided to go RWD with the Stag. Now I can have a little slideways fun in the wet, and if I wanna take it easy I just put the traction controll back on. Having a clutch would be great though, I'm now considering the manual conversion.
  16. Well I was cruising around 200-220 most of the time unless somone was in front of me. And then it took what felt like about 2kms from there with my foot flat to the floor to get up around that speed. I reckon to get it up to its max, which is 305, you would need a fair bit of space. However 0-100 4.7 and 0-200 is 16 sec and takes around 600m at a guess, and with lanch contoll I believe its even quicker. Officially I think its 0-100 in 4.1sec with lanch controll. That was insane. And no cars overtook us at all. THere were a quite a few that were cruising round 200, but we didnt see any super cars out that night except for going the opposite direction. There are some amazing cars on the streets of berlin though. Ferrari 599gtb, Mclaren SLR, audi R8 v10, cl63 amg, 911 turbos everywhere........to name just a few you will see down the main drag of Mitte.
  17. Yeah, well I wanted to get an audi Rs6 or I was looking at even a gtr. But this was the best and cheapest option. The Rs6 required a 30,000 euro imprint from a credit card for anyone under 30!!! QUOTE (garetb16 @ 8 May 2010, 01:20 PM) pretty dumb, especially in a car you dont know/own wouldnt take much to f**k up at that speed to kill you and others. having had a family member been killed by a speeding driver, i definately dont commend you. i know its legal but still pretty stupid IMO QUOTE I am not asking for comendation, just sharing an experience that I had. Which is realated to the same reasons we are all on this forum. Performance cars (all be it stagea's), and pushing them to there limit. I am sorry for your loss. And I am aware of the risks that I take, in fact it is pushing through those fears that makes it so exciting (as I'm sure everyone on here is aware). Every time anyone steps in to a car there is a level of risk involved, regardless of the way you drive it. There are ways of managing that risk but in the end we all make our choices around that. In my opinion here in germany in a porsche 911 on an autobahn, is one of the least risky puiblic places to try and reach 300kmph in the world. Genreally drivers over here are much more aware, and curtious. You would never overtake on the outside lane, if someone is coming up behind you, you move out of the way. If you see someone breaking quickly up ahead you put your hazards on straight away to warn all of the drivers behind you to stop quickly. And so on....... Last time I was here I had the audi tt for one week and had driven over 700km's of the german autobahn's before I pushed it to it's limit. This time I had the car for three nights, had done 600kms in it, had then sussed out a particular stretch of road and a time, waited till I had a clear stretch of a few km's and put my foot to the floor. And am sory but I don't regret it. Thanks for all the comments guys, as I said I will post a vid once it's cut down. Cheers-
  18. As the title reads, I just (half anhour ago) was doing 292kmph on the A13 just south east of Berlin. In a porsche 911 mk2! I have done 280kmph on an autobahn last time I was here, but in an audi tt. This time I was hoping to reach 300, but the traffic was too bad even though it was nearly 12:00 at night. I will post some pics and a video once it's all cut down. But let me tell you that was f#cking insanely amazing......... Unfortunately I have to return it tommorrow, I have had it for three days now driving all around Berlin and I would highly reccommend it to anyone who is coming to germany. In fact I am considering forking out some more dosh to try it again before I go!! But for now I will have to be happy with that.
  19. It is the same setup as s14 but you would have to get the valves set to a different pressure rate as the stag is a lot heavier. The only thing that is the same is the c34 laurel, which isn't much help in terms of availability. I rang around most shops and no one stocked this item on the shelf, except for in NZ. So if you can't find any second hand, your best bet would be to order in from NZ or Japan. There's a problem too with the Bilstien ones as they list the part number for the RWD as the same part for AWD. So people have ordered them to find that they don't fit. Not sure what the go is with that.
  20. I am by no means an expert, but I have had the nisstune chip and tune done on my S2 and from memory it can also remove/adjust the rev limiter. Also he said that it's good for tuning up to about 300 kw, 320 max. Can't remember exactly why but I think it was something like maxed out duty cycle. I'm sure someone else will be able to shed some more light. As for mods, well I have a full stainless 3inch will metal cat (and a few other bolt ons) but the boost curve on my readout indicated that it could only hold 14psi till around 5k and then continued to dip all the way to the limiter. So a better/bigger turbo would yield much better results (obviously).
  21. Well I'll be... Was it advertised as $24k or something when you looked at it? Cos I still have the advert from the import dealership from the guy I bought it off, and I got it off him for $9900!! I couldn't believe it when I saw how much he bought if for. He must have needed the money cos I got him down from 14k pretty easily.
  22. noice! Love the deep dish
  23. Yeah I go the bottle opener from Chuck Hahn(below), the guy who started Hahn breweries. And who is now head brewer for lion-nathan in the asia!! He came and saw a show I was in down in Sydney and then invited us to have a tour of the james squire brewery just out of the city. That was the most amount of beer I've had in one hour, and straight from the source . Yeah it was a good repair job, done by Brisbane motor bodies. As for the DVD/TV/GPS, it's some no name brand like AVC or something cant' remember off the top of my head. I got it from cashies for $240, was a little worried at the time. But it's been working fine for nearly a year now.
  24. Here's mine (after a $7000 face lift from the insurance company following damage casued by a falling tree ) Hope it's not too many pics, got a bit excited
