I have 14 days from yesterday (sunday) to get a drive by sound test on my intake as it was defected by the police yesterday. i have already booked a dB test for my exhaust just need this one. other wise ill have to put the stock one back on and risk gettin it defected again. im in the newcastle area, so any here would be very helpful, willin to go to sydney, and places that wont take me days to get to. cheers

how ya goin, old mate is right about the VN in take pipe, i just did mine yesterday, used the vn pipe, up through the quarter panel, and stuck a pod filter on the end of the skylines intake pipe. only problem with this is u have to have a cover and a ' drive by sound test' as the cops told me today wen they pulled me over for speedin and defectin. they got my exhuast too which is under limit but i need documentation. as for sizing, 50mm isnt all that much, the VN is 90mm approx and is ideal size, in the DIY forums, the guy how posts how to do this task (cant remeber his user name) uses a funnel on the end of his that sits just inside the front bar, u need a rubbery sort of one but because the hard plastic ones crack. ill post a pic of mine as soon as i get batteries for the camera. let us know how u go

if ur stil lookin for a set of trackies, try www.dkne.com.au. good place in smithfield for all types of exhausts

gday buddy, i just got the exhuast done on my 33 n/a. i was keen on a 3 inch but every place i went to said there was no way they were goin to put one on it, its just too big for a n/a, and lacks pick up somethin shockin. i went with a 2 1/2 inch, extractors, metal cat, and straight through muffler, the resinator is comin off soon but i think it sounds awesome, has a really mean idle, and all the way through the rev range. thats just my 2 cents worth any way

ok, so how do we go about it? who do i have to get in to contact with?
-

Newcastle And Central Coast Skyline Spotted Thread
GTS25_R33 replied to -Jimmy-'s topic in New South Wales
hey, good thread mate, should definetly be a new club. i drive a stock grey 33 GTS around cardiff, lambton, wallsend area. well it has a stereo and exhaust. one of my bosses drives a 33 4 door turbo, can hear it for ages on lunch when he goes up the road. white and black 33 keeps goin past my house, big dirty intercooler hangin out the front of it, loud as all shit so yea, a wave or flash would be good and respectful to newy and cc line drivers, cant wait for a club to be made wen u join the NSW club, u get a choice of a sticker, other than that i wouldnt have a clue cheers, -
gday, NSM033, thats pretty much what im think of, dont no bout the checker plate though, it isnt a show car, haha. see wat happens. yer i sused out that box thing, im gonna have to buy or make an adaptor for it, and i really like the idea with the pipin up through guard, half hour job this wkn i reckon. can get a fella to make the checker plate up at work on arvo shift, might as well make it look alright. thanks fellas

Hey, sounds like a nice set up. i have same but with a resinator. dont no y the guy put it in, its comin out after the pink slip. mine was 750 includin fitment of extractors, cat, and cat back system. i have a single tip on my hi flow muffler, it looks awesome in my opinion. -
havent recieved my pack yet, have payed and mailed my stuff. nily been bout a month

Just seen a trailer for the new fast and the furious movie. there is a drag with vinny in his dodge charger, wheel standin off the line and next to him is paul walker in a mad blue skyline, cant tell if its r33 or r34 but its mad. cant wait for the movie, ill try find a url to the trailer and/or movie. cheers
-
Got the car back yesterday, exhaust sounds good, although the resinator will have to be taken out for a louder note. i recorded it on my fone but it sounds like a tractor cause its distorted, the digital camera doesnt play back sound and i havent got a video camera but im workin on it. well the stupid the computer wont let me upload it off the fone for some reason. ahh well, ill get it on here some how

the muffler guy rang today and sed that 2 of the studs in the top front had broken wen he was taken the maniflod off and one in the bottom row. there was no clearance troubles with the air box etc, he sed that the bottom flange was about an inch off the ground, hate to be lowered, so he cut it and re welded it in a good place. will be all done by tomorrow so ill pick her up and put it on the net.
-
ive always had 3inch systems on my falcons, and wen i asked about one for my n/a R33, the exhaust guy refussed to do it. he sed that is the biggest over kill to a non turbo 2.5. 2 1/2 inch is ideal for 2.5 DE's. im getttin mine on tomorrow along with turbo tec trackies and a "metal cat". and no cannon, tryin to be different. ur cannon may have also had baffles taken out for a louder tone, all my mates do it to their exhausts, its shockin
-
ok thanks mate. ill get one of those then. as for the rattles, i dont think its the numberplate, ive held it and pushed it in and pulled it out and it doesnt stop, pretty sure its comin from inside, like the jack or wheel brace or somethin. could even be a broken weld and a panel rattlin around. ill sus it all out tomorrow after work. cheers,
-
yea for sure, well the missus will have to, i wouldnt no where to start. the extractors r "Turbo Tec". wats the goss on them, never heard of these before
-
hey all, have bought a sub and amp, after a few run ins with the car off, i went for a drive. all sweet except there was a whisltin noise in the boot, where sub and amp are that gets more and less pitch as the revs get higher and lower, all most like a turbo. i left the car on idle and had a look, turns out it wasnt the amp makin the noise, like i first thought, it was actually the sub. the power cables dont conflict with the RCA leads in any way. wen i turn the amp level done, it goes away but i dont want the sub to be turned done. could it be that the amp is just so close to the battery? now of my falcons or utes have done this. any ideas?? also, where r some common rattle points in R33 Skylines? i hate drivin with it up loud cause it rattles so much and i hate to think wat ppl think of me as i drive past. cheers.
-
got the extractors, the welds look ok apart from a little bit of spatter and some lack of fusion. i heat proofed them, goin to go down to the exhaust place tomorrow and book her in for the cat a cat back system
-
it only has factory suspension so i dont have to worry bout that....... yet. thanks for the heads up but i was thinkin of takin the extractors to work, im a boily, heating them up with the oxy and sprayin them with the heat spray u can gefrom super cheap, a really good one but, not cheap shit. ive been told that works just as good. i wanna do the intake straight after the exhaust but for now ill probably just put a lukey of k&n filter on there. thanks fellas
