Workplace gossip (among a very small subset), and now confirmed in an email to them, is saying that I've been to a meeting with a company I know a few employees within. Not that I'm actively seeking work at other companies, but I'm seeing what options are available to me if I was to move on. I have expressed a desire to stay, but also stressed that I need to do what is right for me and that financial incentives are important to me at this point in my life... If they want to fk around, then I'm happy to begin actively seeking work elsewhere... I'll wait and see how they read into my email over the weekend. In the meantime, I'm waking up at 5:15am tomorrow to go to Winton... then coming home and getting slaughtered on cheap jack and coke at my fav "this is where I go to get drunk" restaurant.

I don't do well in face to face meetings when I'm unprepared. Additionally they're both in america right now

Have a VoIP Provider who cut off our ability to make International Calls from our office on the 23rd of August. I've been contacting them for 3 weeks to try and get this shiz resolved... keep getting told that the director of the company is going to call me back within 10 minutes etc... Nothing.... Multiply by over 40 phone calls (30 of which just ring out (To their Sales / Support / Accounting departments). Getting real tired of this...

He also has all of his company information stored in a proprietary software database which has been completely written by me, and no-one else knows how to work with it daily... So the cost of replacing me is much greater than keeping me and giving me a raise... Hell he could give me an extra $20k and he'd still be on top compared to the alternative.

Boss left today for a 2 week holiday, then a 4 week working trip visiting distributors around the world... HR is on a call as we speak to an agency, either to replace me or to get on board in case I do run out the door (even though I've said that I'm not going to) or to get me an assistant to reduce this workload. Spoke to one of the girls in Accounts about the whole thing and she says that she's seen nothing to indicate I'm about to get let go. She's the one I leaked info to, knowing that she'd tell people... So was very careful in my wording about the whole thing. We'll see over the next few days I guess... in the meantime, I'm banging out as many tasks as possible and helping out everyone in the office, to counteract the possibility of others planting the seeds of disloyalty... Unrelated, going out to Bells Hot Chicken for dins with some track day mates. Should be a good time.

Whats the pulsar tanks like when some G's are applied? I'm guessing zero baffles and pump on one side? Better than lunching a motor I guess

Well some of my core strengths are code based, so that's a plus...

It's a very small business, there's only 15 people at this location (even though it's the international head office) and gossipers gonna gossip... also I knew she'd tell the boss since she knows just how fkd they'd be if I suddenly walked out with no warning and noone else in the company that understands the major business systems.

I have no motivation to do my job... (Though, at this very moment I'm waiting for some software to install, so its not complete downtime) Just had a meeting with the finance department and the boss about an upcoming project. Which will potentially save approx $50,000 in wages per year due to a reduction in data entry work... I put in a rough 2 month estimate for project completion, and he came back with a worried "Are you even going to still be here by then?"

He asked me to do it on Friday... which didn't get done... He's followed it up with me this morning. Said I was busy working on some tasks right now and didn't have time for something that isn't an urgent concern. I've already mentioned to him that I'm not about to run out the door tomorrow, and that I was just seeing what else was out there ("Fielding opportunities as I was approached by a group and wanted to see where I stood")

Think the boss is a bit scared that I'm about to walk out the door (the day before he leaves for a 6 week trip, and I'm the only IT guy... who custom wrote the entire Distributor Ordering System that runs the company)... And I know it's not a massive roadblock if they do want to get rid of me, but also $20+k worth of AL & LSL (hit 10 years last month) to be paid out on the final day... My issue now, they're suddenly concerned that if I do leave they have no continuation plan... don't even have anyone here who knows what skills the IT Manager requires, so.... I've. Just. Been.
