Honestly can't believe how many cars get overtaken in my vid above... most people seemed to be rolling along at about 90, sometimes 100 in the right lane...
Damn Sunday drivers, at least most of them understood what to do when an aggressive looking car comes up behind them in the right lane
Pop Quiz: Tony - What did I get you for your wedding gift? Everyone Else - What should I have gotten him that would have been the most perfect present ever and made Lynnie hate me for life?
Really not that subtle...
Heaps of other stuff in the area as well, paint shops, bolt shops, total tools, bursons, etc
Things that I need to travel 20 minutes to get to, when I realise I need something at 4:30pm on a Sunday
I bought a pair. He only has them available in 265/35/18... which is what I run on the rear.... Now, to burn through the remaining 90% of my current set and then I can use the new ones
Hell, I paid $1200 for 3 (1 x 235 + 2 x 265 + (1 free tyre)) when they had their last nationwide sale... 2 x 265's for $440 is a bargain And no... definately not trying to be a richo. I don't have any of those skills.
Grabbed some Project Mu Club Racer's from BrakesDirect, next set will be the Ferodo DS3000's for comparison. Currently just running the crappy pads which came with the calipers.
I don't think sub 2 minutes will be an issue, considering last time out there I was needing to back off constantly due to detonation down the straights and pulled out of the day early with a split CV boot. Now everything should be sorted and a nice safe E85 tune.
Can't wait to get back out there
I'm waiting on a delivery of brake pads from Queensland... shipped out on Monday afternoon...
This is what you get for accepting their offer of free shipping :|
Define "There will be other situations..."? Aka... It's a modified car? Also, "you will need to make an appointment"... does that mean visual inspection or just "you need to come in and sit in the queue like a bitch"
Spotted a shiny shiny silver 33r with trade plates hanging out the back and no front bar on boundary road this morning. Thought it might have been birds for a second... obviously not.
Tyre wear is all dependant how you're driving on a specific surface. This is tarmac, so it's a little rougher than we're used to with the smooth concrete skidpan up at DECA in shepparton... so I imagine tyre wear will be greater (also smokier )
Just keep an eye on it through the day and make sure you don't skid too much near the end if you are driving home on them.
If you think you'll be changing tyres at some point, or your car has a recurring problem... bring your jack and tools... Otherwise, there will be someone else around with socket sets, screw drivers, etc in case something does need a tweak
Strip your car of anything you don't need (glovebox contents/floor mats/subs etc from your boot) before you head down, this will save you time when you're getting ready in the morning before heading to scrutineering. Generally the car won't get too hot or stressed on the day... you can tape up your handbrake if you really want, I've never done it and rarely had an issue... just creates more problems when you're actually trying to park the car
I went to that a few years ago... its pretty much how Triple J was a few years back (aussie hip hop, indie, dancy sorta stuff like Sneaky Sound System, Hermitude, Pendulum, etc) I had a lot of fun, but annoyed that I missed a DECA because of it
