Lets say he could see 50m of clear space on the road he was turning onto, and couldn't see any other cars around because the lambo was low and far back, if the lambo was travelling at 50kph it would take a min of 4 seconds before it reached the mazda. Back when I was on my P's I did one of those defensive driving courses at Sandown, there was a 50-60yo guy in the 'classroom' who was decked out head to tow in blue FPV gear, even the matching cap, he was one of the students like the rest of us... I was expecting to go out there and see him jump into some beast of a fpv v8, nek minute base model falcon... and someone at the end of the day called him out on it, "Left your XR8 at home did you mate?" and he looked embarrassed and took off the hat... If something requires a torque wrench, I wouldn't be trusting a $25 one for the job. + 1 for using logic for everything else... I use a 60cm breaker bar, just a little tug on the end of it gets them to a good tightness, not overdoing it but def not coming off... Just keep those damn tyre shop rattle guns set to 10/10 away from my car and things will be alright...

Martin what are your nuts made of? If they're too soft (like cheap alloy ones) then they love to mangle themselves and fk up the thread of the stud. I'd almost rather have a mangled stud than a mangled nut, since its easy to pop into a shop and pick up a single stud than it is to pick up a single MATCHING nut Edit: Actually quite enjoyed changing a stud in the motel carpark at DECA, was a lot less painful than I thought it was going to be... Do S14's have little cutout areas behind the stud like 33s have, so you can bash it out and remove it without taking the whole assembly apart? Only painful part was not having a hammer with me, so ended up using Anna and Luke's towbar Swung that shit like a baws...

At the same time, some of them also throw out the "It'll be at least a few hundred" line to get rid of people who have no idea how the world works and expect 6+ hours of work on a car for $300, including materials... I find when making first contact, you have to go in knowing what you're talking about and don't react negatively to the first few questions, then their defensive "this guy is going to waste my time and cost my business money" goes away and the real conversation can start.
