Gtr Guru Needed For Private Sale Inspection Cash Cash Job
ZED X replied to bcnr33-hks's topic in South Australia
Really you need to get underneath this to investigate further. If i were you take a very close look at the vehicle yourself. End of the day you'll be the one maintaining it and only you can decide When i was looking at buying my first GTR i had a look at a couple. The first was immaculate on the outside, as soon as i get beneath them things were alittle different. The owner was fairly hesitant to allow me to drive it onto a ramp which i found suspicious at the time. There was less then 100,000 on the Odo and that was clearly incorrect based off the under side of the vehicle. Keeping in mind you cant expect perfection these days. However oil/coolant leaks will only be visible from beneath the vehicle. Most owners will go to the effort of cleaning an engine bay/exterior prior to sale but mostly neglect anything that's not visible. Specially beneath the vehicle. However looks tidy on the out side, just take your time and pick the right one. hopefully its a great example Good luck! -
The questions you need to ask yourself are, what are your expectations? What do you want out of the tyre? Is it driven in the wet? How often do you want to be replacing them? The thing to consider is that tyres are a consumable. So if all you're doing is driving around on the street and its daily driven. Do you really want to be slapping on tyres that are 2x the price when you wont even see the full potential of the tyre? Sure you want the added safety and the ability to pull up as soon as possible. I couldn't justify spending $1000 on a set of tyres that would only last me a year. I dont think i'dd ever go back to KU36's on a daily. My GTR was abit of a handfull in the wet on KU36's. Of course if it wasn't daily driven they would have been ideal. I cant comment on RE002's but it was a consideration at the time. In hindsight i regret the purchase of my KU31's as i no longer drive my GTR to work so it sits in the shed until it gets a hammering

Antz 1994 R32 Gtr Project & Restoration

WOOH just saw all of the updates from last month! Nice man! Post up some videos ? Get it back together and bring it down to SA for SAU Nats I'll be entering mine (if i can get it back together in time). Obviously a fairly long drive from GC Good opportunity for reliability testing.... just a thought... Sucks about the dodgy repair job... I've been through that before.. Looking forward to seeing the end result. -
I just bought another set of KU31's for my 32R off ebay. SellerID: INT-TT These were 235/45/17's at ~$100 per tire ~$10 each for delivery. However 245/40/18 would probably be significantly more. Mind you your also going to have to front a cost to have the tires fitted. This cost me around $40 from tyre power at parahills. All up around ~$480 for the full set fitted and balanced, which isnt bad.

Hm thanks guys food for thought Thanks Scott, I guess after some poor experiences with Walbro pumps i'm sold on anything but.

Hi Guys, Looking for some input. I'm looking for a replacement pump for my 32R (standard 180k/km pump) and I'd prefer to avoid GTR tax on this one. Trying to find an alternative to the "Standard" replacement option being a Nismo/Tomei etc. I was considering a Walbro but ive had some pretty poor experiences with these in the past. Like to avoid this route if possible. Originally i was going to opt for an 044 and just modify the existing cradle (i dont have a problem doing this) however after hearing how loud these are in person, im looking for an alternative. I've seen Deatschwerks have a fairly substantial range, appears a ton of guys in the UK use these. However as ill only be pushing for ~300awkw at this stage i dont require 320LPH that the DX300 can support. However i would like some additional headroom for "future" fun.. fund permitting. The upper ceeling with my current setup is limiting me to ~300>320awkw anyway. Was looking at a DX62A: http://www.deatschwerks.com/products/fuel-pumps/dw65a-415-detail Does anyone have any experiences with these in a 32/33GTR? Seems from most of the experiences im reading is that these pumps are fairly highly regarded. Seem to operate fairly quietly and are significantly smaller then the standard pumps. Any information you guys can provide would be great. However ideally im seeking personal experiences here not the "my mates brothers dog has a gtr and runs one and its great" Also wanting to confirm that these will pull from an empty tank. I've read mounting these slightly lower on the standard cradle seems to work quite well. For reference my current setup is as follows: 1993 R32 GTR unopened/standard head GT2860-7 680CC Delphi Injectors RS260 dumps to a 3.5" Exhaust Standard FPR This is a 100% Street driven GTR. Cheers, Carlo

heads up. Posted 15 August 2011 - 09:23 AM -
It's the Alloy type. As long as it suits either an 32R/33R RB26 it should be suitable. I'll drop you a PM thanks Abe!

Cmon Guys! Help a brother out! I wanna get this thing on the dyno! All i want to do is to drive up and down the street a couple of times, this should determine if my CAS is faulty. Only issue is i cant drive my GTR in its current state so i'dd need to borrow it for an hour or two (depending where you live). Beer can be arranged!
-
Hi Guys, Wondering if anyone could lend an RB26 CAS for a weekend. I'm attempting to isolate an issue and would like to confirm the fault to be CAS related before i purchase a replacement unit. Cheers Carlo
-
Interesting read. I cant say i have the same issue with mine, however my CAS is in the same full right position as yours. This a proven 20deg with a timing light which i thought was really strange. Mind you this hasnt actually caused any issues and my car runs beautify. I've also inspected for a skipped tooth and that hasn't occurred. Might try swapping out the CAS as you've done and see if this changes anything. Only for curiosity's sake

Really clean man! If i didn't already own one.. idd be all over this! Good luck with the sale

I can understand there concerns. I mean hell if he were to fall off he'd be going straight under the rear wheels. The location was a piss poor place to do it and the penalty i think is fair. If they were to fine webber instead that wouldnt solve anything. I mean hell vettell recieved a $1000 fine (was it?) for 9km/h over in the pit lane. He earns that in minuites! How is that due punishment? Thats like me recieving a speeding fine for $2.50 for 20km/h over out on the street. Shit idd speed around all the time! Ah its only $2.50. I'dd even pay in cash! However that's not to say i didn't enjoy watching it happen! The sports lost some of its original charm at least from the late 80's to early 90's. That happens of course and there's nothing we can do to change that. However as stated above im all down for f1 ring making on the pit straight!

Ha glad i could help. I'm by nature a tight arse so anything to save $$. Besides owning a gtr isnt cheap.. gotta cut some corners somewhere

Oh man! Your so close! Not long to go now Glad to hear Haltech were happy enough to assist you though, i was strongly considering one before i picked up my nistune. However local Adelaide support was the decider for me. Get us some dyno footage ! Must hear... rb.. -
I picked up a free sample bottle of Simple Green from Bursons a couple of weeks ago. I'dd tried a ton of different solutions and nothing has worked as well as this so far. Mind you i was using it as a 100% concentrate! A good tip is to buy a ton of small tooth brushes and melt the handles into suitable angles to get to the harder spots
